How DELLNER COUPLINGS work to allow THUNDERBIRD & LOCO Unit Drags!

See close up views showing how the modern day Dellner couplings work allowing for locos to attach to units to move them from one location to another. These couplings also allow for units to join each other when working in multiple together.
Locos rescuing units are typically know as Thunderbird workings - DRS have a number of class 57 locos which are purposely designed for this task with retractable Dellner couplings.
In this video - See how the Dellner coupling system works and how the loco joins/detaches from the unit to move it from one location to another.
