Amazing how Chris Mellong has a very acute sense of determining when the cue ball has completely come to rest on the final ball of the 6-red shootout. I stopped the video and stepped through frame-by-frame. He had started to thrust the cue stick before the cue ball had settled, but the tip hit the cue ball a millisecond after the cue ball came to rest. I had to step through several times before I could determine the legality of the stroke.
Great match, but it's my first time watching this. I can't say I love the shoot out. It would make more sense to let them finish the race in my opinion.
I totally agree. The 30 second shot clock keeps it watchable for tv and one extension per frame is a good idea too. I don't like the 15 second shot clock as I don't think players play their best. Continuing the race would be good but I do like the match clock.
@@JohnOConnor65 I usually watch 9 ball and they have a 30 second clock with one extension. I like that better than a match clock. I agree it's unwatchable without a shot clock though. Some players just take forever.
On red ball shoot out after the break dont all the reds have to be stopped becore the next shot is played because Chris had moving balls before his fisrt hit

I thought that it was a bit careless, as he should have known he had lots of time, and an extra quarter second to make absolutely sure of the legal hit would have been called for.
@@gopcongress glad someone has a bit more time on their hands than me I've watched several times and called a foul about 60-40% wise cheers for clearing that up mate
Wow that is a really good talented young man there!hope we see more from mr Gilbert in future to come
This is definitely well up there as one of the best matches on Ultimate Pool. Thoroughly entertaining
Wow, what a match. I’m sure we will see more of Luke in the future. Melling is just so good right now
Luke's first two games reflects the skills needed to be competitive within the standard of play set by top players.

Luke is very talented and played some remarkable pool there. A lot of titles to his name already and I'm sure lots more to come in the future.🎱
one of the best of his generation
Without a doubt. I was a good player in the 80s & 90's but not quite at Luke's level. He is a joy to watch.
Chris Melling the GOAT

25:19 He lines the shot up as if hes going to play low on the white ....then plays it differently as he strikes the ball.
Gilbert the GOAT
what is the table size please
7ft x 4ft Supreme Match
7:30 onwards it’s quite clear that red easily goes to bottom right even from this camera. Do wonder what people are watching at times
2-3 dom again ( dont expect him to miss it)
From now it should be known as "Dominators Curse"
love this!
