The Dream Center is a biblically based live in rehab home in Hollywood/Los Angeles for women and their children. During the fires, they have been one of the first publicly announced shelters for people who didn’t have any place else to go. The DreamCenter program usually lasts for a year, but my daughter was there longer. Their reputation proceeds them. A judge in Alaska, where my daughter was caught trafficking drugs across state lines, permitted her to serve a much reduced sentence by living at the Dream Center. They showed her how to get a job, take care of her child, and just become a functioning member of society again. It was nothing short of a miracle.
I get it. Nothing has been done for the Appalachian Mountain people, and that is absolutely criminal. But please don’t speak out of hand. The people that the Dream Center helps on a regular basis are not rich. They were gracious enough to make room as a shelter when the fire began. With all due respect, think before you speak.
