Course on Smile Design & Aesthetics Presented at RAK College of Dental Sciences.

LonDEC, the Faculty of Dentistry, Oral & Craniofacial Sciences at King’s College London (UK) &
RAK College of Dental Sciences (UAE) have organized two courses on General Dentistry at RAK
College of Dental Sciences. The courses were very successful and all the participants received good
core knowledge on the subjects.
Smile Design & Aesthetics
This hands-on course was organized for the General
Dental Practitioners. The objective of the course was to
introduce smile assessment methods and smile design
techniques including improvement of tooth shape and
symmetry. Delegates were provided with an easy
formula and technique for assessing smiles and deciding
on what changes could be made. Tips on sharing this
information with dental laboratories so that the correct
analogue or digital “wax up/mock up” can be produced.
Mr. Bill Sharpling was the Course Tutor and Course Director. He is expert in Quality Assurance at the
Kings College London. Dr. Shadi El Behra and Dr. Sofiqul Islam were the course coordinators from RAKCODS.
