    I feel like the stock e90 18” would look good. The one I have in mind is the sport package wheel I believe I’ve seen it mostly on 335i’s but they are a concave design and I think look very good on most applications

    • @Kordare

      Yeah I think I've seen those on a Z3 and they look pretty cool.

    The camber in the rear of a Z3 is deliberate. There are offset bushings available to "fix" this but they detract from the car's handing rather than helping. I found with my 2002 2.5i that staggered wheels/tires, 20mm hubcentric spacers and polyurethane bushings in both the front and rear did wonders for the handling while staying with the original factory springs.

    • @Kordare
      @Kordare  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I welded adjustment plates to the rear subframe at trailing arm attachment points making it adjustable. Once I got it aligned and new wheels and tires it handles incredible.

    If you're not gonna use the collars in the back, you need to also remove the threaded sleeve. Just put the spring and 2 pads. If you leave the theaded tube in without collars you won't have enough clearance for compression. It'll be literally

    the first upgrade should always be wheels and tires, chosen based on the goals for the car. shock struts and spring should be set aside until all of the old rubber bushings have been replaced. firm up the subframes the engine mounts the trans mount and then do the bushings for all of the control arms. THEN it's time to install coilovers.

    • @Kordare
      @Kordare  ปีที่แล้ว

      I did wheels and tires right after this and did all rear subframe bushings as well.

    @DiscoFang 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    "Lug bolts are dumb"? Wheels on a BMW are hub-centric and they should not drop off like that. They should self support on the hub flange and require a tug or a solid whack to remove. If the wheel drops like that you may need shims that hug the flange curve. They are about the thickness of an aluminum can. A slight ill-fit is often the cause of a seemingly impossible to pinpoint vibration at speed.

    • @Kordare
      @Kordare  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah they fit on the hub ring fine but sometimes the vibrations of an impact loosen that up and the wheels fall as shown. Not to mention it is much more difficult to mount the wheel because you are blindly threading the bolts. So yes I stand by my statement lug bolts are dumb.

    • @DiscoFang
      @DiscoFang 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Kordare Yeah I know what you mean regarding the awkwardness. My Toyota 4WD has bolts (6 of them) and with the weight of the wheel and tire it makes it a pia to line them up compared to studs. But I also have 3 BMWs and none of them sit loose enough to fall free like that.

    • @Kordare
