I just came across this video and it the best I've been able to find on this topic. Very clear presentation. I had a quick question. Do you still like the ACEPC AK1 Mini PC? Has it held up well? I'm creating a number of zoom client setups for my church and an thinking of using this same mini PC. Your setup seems ideal for my project.
I second this - thank you so much for this video! We have a small office (of 10), so we can't afford the $1000 systems other bigger firms have. (Nor do we need it.) THIS is one of the first systems I've stumbled across that offered a reasonable, attainable, great option. Just wanted to say thank you for just putting this out into the internet for all of us to learn from!
To follow up my own question for others. I've got eight of these up and running. The mini pc seems to do well for zoom. Had one user report they had issues trying to share a video during zoom but have not been able to follow up. Two of the units did wifi issues. I resolved by adding a USB-WiFi adapter. Finally, the fans aren't too loud, but they aren't super quiet either, especially if you happen to be sitting near the units. Otherwise, I built mine on trolley carts and they work great.
Hey this is helpful. Just to clarify, you use the TV speakers for Audio, do you have any issues of echo with the mic in front of the TV speakers ? I'm thinking of getting a similar setup with an additional stand alone MIC. What do you suggest ?
Yes, this setup is using the speakers connected to the TV. The microphone is from the external web cam. I did not have any issues with echo. Zoom is pretty good about making sure that is in sync.
Thank you for the info. Extremely helpful and exactly the starter info I need to get going. Question, have you encountered needing an external mic separate from the camera due to the distance from the tv and couch?
Correct, their are some differences between an actual Zoom room and this particular setup. But, since this is a home setup and not a office setup, the differences are not that important to me.
This is NOT a Zoom Room. This is not different than Zoom installed on your pc or laptop other than you have a webcam on it. You should rename your video.
Very helpful, William. Thanks so much for taking the time to create the video and providing a list of what is needed for a Zoom Room.
It is really nice video - what are you using for mic when you are doing zoom meeting
Loved this video. I truly appreciate it. I’m going to try the same set up.
Can you do virtual background with that mini PC?
Hi, do you got interference if you're speaking in the mic and the loudspeaker of the TV?

Hello my friend. I have a question. If I connect a normal PC to the TV, will my audio get out from the TV?
Great video! Thanks for the demo!

Hi im wondering with this mini pc, can you turn on the virtual background mode?

I found the mic on the Logitech camera to just fine for my needs. But, it probably depends a lot on the camera hardware you are using.
Can you run breakout rooms with this setup okay?
zoom rooms its a good solution with the same hardware setup
exactly the same thing that i was thinking untill step 3
It seems that this setup is not really Zoom Room. Just a regular host account on a computer running the Zoom desktop client connected to a TV.

Hi i wonder if this can work with the actual zoom room account? do you know? haha thanks!
This is NOT Zoom Room, it's normal Zoom Meeting App that you're running mate.
Thanks
Use a PI and connect to zoom though browser, cost less than $100.
this is a zoom meeting, not a zoom room
