This was certainly one of the largest undertakings in terms of video projects on the channel EcksToo. Much love & effort was put into making this video special. So passing this video to another Star Wars friend would really help. We'd love to make more high-effort videos like these in the future for EcksToo, but we need to know if the support for it is there. Besides that, enjoy the video!

I unlocked this ship for the Alliance at War mod, but one cannot get it in Skirmish. Currently only GC. I am the dev, ha. I intend to revisit this ship at a later date.

Needs proper engines too. Otherwise, she would make a fine flagship/sniper super ship for a Multiversal battle fleet.
@@michaelandreipalon359 multiverse you say? I don't think starwars engine tech can really do much better for a ship of this size and energy needs, what verses engines would you put on this?
@@angelshadow990 I don't have any named engines, but I would pick larger engines, some thrusters on the sides for faster movement, and a little bit of classified magitek and reality warping...

Charlie, you've done it man! A couple days ago I saw you on reddit responding to a guys comment on how he didn't like your videos, and I totally agreed. Nothing against you as a person but the content didn't fit the man. But this, this is where you shine my dude! I literally can't remember the last time I wrote a youtube comment, as far as I remember I don't think I ever have. You changed me. I've been watching eck now for over 2 years, and ecks too off and on here and there. But if this is what you're capable of, then you're getting a sub from me. Keep up the great work, don't rush yourself, and remember to do what you love to do. Don't ever stop creating, your work is great!

Awesome video Charlie, it reminded me of the first time I beat EAW zann campaign when I was little. Commanding the eclipse was a blast and knowing I can play thrawns revenge with it is just awesome.

also yes these higher quality videos are very nice!
One thing that would be nice to point out is that before the "Nerf Update", the TR's Eclipse could take out basically any SSD and leave the Viscount with around 50% to 40% of it's hull, that thing was a monster
And that also applies to it's weaker version, the Soverein-class SSD
Overall it was a incredible video, and I do hope we'll see more of those

@@ProdAlarick Wdym? Palpatine and the Eclipse are 2 separate units in the Mod, it's not gonna destroy the ship just cuz you killed the Senate, lol
It just happens that the AI is too stupid to build either the Eclipse or the Soverein, that's why you rarely see them when you are against the Empire
Also in older vers. of the mod (Idk about the newer ones) even after Palps 2nd death, the Empire still could build both ships
@@felps_4500 Well I just read the Wiki and IT said He comes with the Eclipse (makes sense). On the section of tactics against him said if you are lucky you can kill him on the ground.
@@ProdAlarick Ok... Before anything, are you talking about the "Fandom TR wiki", or is there another one? (also pls send a link if it's the 2nd)
Because, that wiki is not a reliable source, even Corey said that, the latest update the wiki's talking about is 2.2, and were on 3.2 (almost) already, things change, and Palpatine + the Eclipse being only one unit is one of them (in fact that change happened way before 3.0 came out)

This is great, reminds me of a souped-up Spacedock video with flashy editing and great visuals. I'd be very excited to see this become a main-channel series, you could explore dozens of different ships from Star Wars lore, or even cross over to other franchises.
Great effort and a very thorough video, if on a somewhat well tread topic, looking forward to what comes next. One thing that might be worth noting, the Eclipse II seemed to be too reflective as to appear almost transparent at some points. Loved the framing with the black hole behind, a very befitting location.
Once a month or two would be great to see a video like this! Would be interested to see a breakdown of that pirate spaceship thing haha.

It would be cool in the future if you verbally told us who made which models. I know the Eclipse 1 model used in the games was made by Jeroenemo, for instance.
I miss the proportional gigantic size the eclipse originally had. The writers of Dark Empire wanted it to be able to have Executers dock in its docking bay, but were working off bad size estimates for that ship. :(
The eclipse looks best when it's the larger, wider version. All it would need to top it all off is a lower and slightly wider bridge to increase the cool factor
I never liked the original Eclipse, personally. Looks like a @%$# oil tanker. Eclipse-2/Soverign Class is a much better-looking ship.

HA, I just put the unit cap to 500 pop or 450 pop, so I recreate its escort fleet plus Support ships.

nice video, the fact that in Thrawn Revenge missiles can't penetrate shields+ it's laser is overpowered really brings light to how extremely unbalanced gameplay is in this mod.
In Star Wars we see fighters/bombers attack capital ships with their shields on, flying under them. In original game torpedoes penetrate shields. And it's done with balance in both Republic at War and Awakening of the Rebellion. In all of these games if you allow bombers to bypass your defenses to threathen your capital ships it makes you a bad player. In Thrawn's Revenge you can put a battlecruiser up front and be like "oops, those bombers dealt 15% to my shields". It's like riding a bike with training wheels.
This is my favourite ship, if I could have a flag ship then this would be it!
I know it's almost completely useless in Remake mod because it takes the full popcap.
It has good but few starfighter squadrons but they seem to bug around the ship and take AGES to go around it. A fight with this in remake is: you immediately defeat the station and all enemy capital ships then you watch for 30 minutes as your starfighters chase the enemy's around the map.
Meanwhile the enemy AI spams fighters and spreads them across the map, some even behind the ship or actually into it's model making them almost unreachable by your starfighters so you just stare at the screen. There's a ton of lag if your PC isn't high end because it fires all of it's armaments at anything ... including starfighters with no chance to hit them.

Its super laser is more powerful in FOC Alliance. In that mod, it can even one-shot the Viscount. However it does have the same weakness that you talked about that you can penetrade its shields with bombers, and I have won from the Eclipse before but that was purely because it didn't fire its super laser last minute
Which thrawns revenge version did u use because in my version the eclipse is weaker and looks different
Ok in EAW the remake 2.3 warning for players be careful deploying the flaggee alone
I think Palapatine built like this because he was weak with his...lightsaber...

It Kinda is, but it was nerfed into a normal Executor-Class SSD, also they've made that... Thing called Xyston
Also, Palpatine already revived once (and died again), and the Eclipse was his Capital Ship during his time (in Legends)
So it's very unlike that we'll see such a ship on D's Canon
