I dont think pitbulls themselves are bad. I think owner’s are. I think all dogs need constant training/discipline. Most dog owners think once they get to a certain age that it’s okay to just leave them and do their own thing.
CptEgo almost any dog could kill a human if it really wanted to, pit bulls are no different from any large dog. The only reason there have been so many pit bull attacks compared to other breeds is because people buy them as guard dogs and train them to show aggression, people are the problem not the dogs

I rescued my pit at 2 years old and there’s a lot of history that comes with rescuing a dog (especially a pit) that you just might never know what that dog has been through but it is so worth rescuing! Pits are the sweetest most loving and loyal dogs out there. I highly recommend.

I am 23 and my parents have had pitbulls since I before I was born. Honestly the bonds formed with pitbulls are the most special. My current 2 sleep in bed with me and I often trip over them as they don't leave me alone haha. They are so protective but gentle at heart. Best breed ever x

I’ve had my pittie for almost 3 yrs now and all i can say is he is the light of my life. By far the best dog I’ve ever met. But during the adoption process visit the dog at the shelter on different days so you don’t just catch them on a good day or bad day. If the shelter has outdoor and indoor visiting rooms see them in both areas. Just don’t rush the processes. Get to know the dog a bit before you bring em home. Spend time with them. And when you bring them home don’t be lax on rules at the beginning then get strict cause the dog won’t know what’s going on. Establish rules and boundaries immediately such as sitting before getting meals, sitting before doors are opened, jumping on furniture, etc. dogs thrive on structure so don’t be scared to provide it! Adopting is so rewarding
I’m a two time pit mom and you’ll never regret it! They are the sweetest dogs and so stinkin intelligent, I made sure to raise mine around people and took them out often so they are now great with people and traveling! It’s all about how they are raised and I’m sure you’d be a great fellow pit mom😁
I wish I had many words about being the fur mom of a pit bull but long story short, I don’t feel like I would be able to live without him. However, make sure you take it on long walks or play with them a lot so they can expend their energy! We named her bug and she’s been a dream . ❤️✨
I lived with someone who owned a pit/boxer mix and she was SO SWEET! She had a ton of energy throughout the day but once it was sleepy time she was so calm and snuggly 🥰
Yes yes yes!!! Get a pit, we adopted ours, Georgia, a year ago when she was 1 1/2, she has been a dream and because she was still younger we got to train her a lot and she is trained to be a support animal for me and is trained to comfort me during panic attacks. They are angels, if you give them love and training, they will love you back💕
My pitbull is my favorite animal ever. Such a sweet and loving personality. When my mom and I went to adopt a dog we had in mind that we did not want a pitbull, We kept walking by her cage and at the time were not even attracted to pit bulls and have only ever heard negative things about them. But her face and personality completely transformed by opinion on pitbull’s, they are now my favorite dog and breed and I think that they are so freaking adorable. Pitbulls are total sweethearts! You do want to be cautious when adopting only because agencies vary so much. I would actually recommend fostering first just because it will prepare you for the legit intensity of dog adoption. It is so much like parenting. Keep asking questions through your vlog!!
I have a pit bull! His name is Aegon and he’s honestly one of the smartest dogs I’ve ever met! Potty training was hard at first but after a year old he knew how to put his tug at us to let his out or he starts sitting by the door! He’s super well behaved and has been a real help whenever I’m running and men decide to get near me or try hitting on me and get touchy. The bad rep they get is so unfounded as long as they’re raised well! They’re the sweetest. He’s my mamas boy 🖤

All my dogs have been rescues, and I have had two pitties! They have been the best dogs; they totally feed off of their owner's vibe. If I'm calm and relaxing, so is my dog. If you want to play, so do they! One of them is currently my emotional support dog too.
I rescued a pit this past New Years! She’s 2 1/2 and is the sweetest and cuddliest dog. She loves people, the only thing that I personally have to be wary of is that she is VERY energetic, which can sometimes come off as aggressive (but really she just really wants to play). If you adopt just make sure you take note of any aggressive-type behaviors and maybe get a trainer to help! Pits are very smart and learn well in my experience ✨
I had a full American Pitbull for almost 10 years, just had to put him down last October due to old age, we got him when I was in the 4th grade and he was my best friend and the biggest baby ever. It’s all about the time spent with them and how they’re raised as well and if you think about it, that’s any dog breed so I hate how pits are put down the most. Yes they’re protective but also the most lovable dog there is. I recently adopted another and he looks just like him, I cry almost all the time the bigger he gets lol.
One of my good friends adopted a pit mix and she is the sweetest thing! I think he adopted her when she was just a little under 1 year old. Definitely went through the typical "puppy phase" of chewing on things (she ate through the carpet and chewed up the molding lol) but she has definitely mellowed out and is actually shy - not aggressive at ALL. Let’s say my pit is the most cuddliest, sweetest, most gentle and hilarious dog I have ever had!! I get so much negativity when they see him becuase he is such a big solid dog and they are going off stereotype but when they spend time with him for 5 mins they are shocked! like it’s how they are are grown up and treated and what the owner was like, the determines what the dog is like and it’s any dog not just the bully breed

I work at a rescue and there is a pit bull that has been there since 2009. I can say without a doubt it is the sweetest dog I ever met and thats coming from a girl with 3 Shih Tzu's and a bunny!

i had a put growing up he was the sweetest thing in the world we found him in the street all by himself and he grew up so sweet he never barked and always gave kisses. he did have hip problems which is often a problem with pits
I have a pit named Jax and he is the sweetest thing, he is kind of hard to walk, but that is because he has so much energy! He is about 3 years old, and we found him on the side of the road when he was about 8 months old, so of course we couldn’t just leave him there. Pits are so much fun, my pit loves to play in the water, and he loves to cuddle! He also gets along with other dogs. I hope you find your perfect pit, they are one of the best breeds of dogs!:)
I adopted my first dog, some type of Pitbull / Staffie mix, almost a year ago and she is the best thing. I don’t know how shelters are by you, but in Florida I’d say about 90% of the dogs in the shelters are Pitbull-mixed. We just watched her in comparison to the other dogs there, for example she was less aggressive and barked less, let us touch her paws and teeth, signs like that that showed she was willing to trust us. Surprisingly those qualities were not uncommon in the shelter, you just have to take the time to get to know the dogs you’re looking at. Good luck!! 😘🥰
Pittie's are the best! I've almost always owned only pits. I currently have a rescue that was shot by local cops when he was 6 months old. We've had him for 8 years now and he's the sweetest boy. Thanks for spreading the love of such a misunderstood and overly abused breed!
My 10 yr old blue pit died recently he was always there by my side on the good and bad days. I got his paw imprint tatted on my heel so every step i take in life he takes it with me .
My pit is my baby!!! I adopted him when he was three months old and he has been my world since then. One piece of advice I can give you is to make sure you train him or her completely before they become older and stubborn. I babied my dog a lot when I first got him because he was sick and now I’m dealing with the consequences because he likes to not listen sometimes LOL but I think that the idea is great!!! ❤️ He was the first dog I ever owned that was super people friendly and loves to cuddle.
Not a pitbull owner ( I definitely want one though!) but I've volunteered at a humane society for over 6 years. Let me tell you, pit mixes are almost ALWAYS the sweetest, most loving and well-behaved dogs at the shelter at any age. I highly recommend them to any first-time dog owner, especially the adults! Love that you can see past the negative stigma.

My boyfriend and I were a little nervous at first, not because he was a pit but because we weren’t sure how training a dog after he is no longer a puppy would be. However he has been GREAT, he’s such a good and smart dog! Pit bulls are the sweetest most caring dogs. The people I babysit have always had them and any dog can be aggressive when it is trained that way. Pit bulls just want to cuddle and love their owners when they are treated well
I have a 6 year old pit/boxer/rottweiler mix who is truly the best dog. It's all about the owner and lifestyle, not the breed! Also, mine has lived in apartments all his life (in San Francisco) and he's been totally fine! Just need to do long walks and park runs. They do mellow out with age (mine did, especially at 2)... he's basically a breathing potato at this point.
Shelley Kim I actually don’t think it is the owner that’s actually what my cousin said and her pitbull ate my dog in my living room on thanksgiving. i do not think they are any meaner than other dogs but their jaw locks and when it does it is very damaging.
@@tylerwilson6161 in that situation it's still the owner. I know that my dog loves little dogs but doesn't prefer big ones. for everybody's safety, I keep him away from big dogs. they are definitely strong dogs but also need to be trained to let go when commanded to.
Mine is 3 now and he’s started picking up on our mannerisms. Sunday’s are our lazy days and now on sundays he’s the biggest couch potato. It’s so funny because the rest of the week he just wants to be outside 24/7 lol

I had a half pit and half lab😍 He was seriously the sweetest dog. Completely harmless. He was also the rut of his litter so he was really small. He was definitely a small/medium dog. I would love to get another one someday 💕

Def def def get a pit bull. Literally the gentlest dog if you train them properly like most dogs. They have a special little seat in my heart💜
All my dogs have been rescues, and I have had two pitties! They have been the best dogs; they totally feed off of their owner's vibe. If I'm calm and relaxing, so is my dog. If you want to play, so do they! One of them is currently my emotional support dog too.
I rescued a pit this past New Years! She’s 2 1/2 and is the sweetest and cuddliest dog. She loves people, the only thing that I personally have to be wary of is that she is VERY energetic, which can sometimes come off as aggressive (but really she just really wants to play). If you adopt just make sure you take note of any aggressive-type behaviors and maybe get a trainer to help! Pits are very smart and learn well in my experience ✨
I had a full American Pitbull for almost 10 years, just had to put him down last October due to old age, we got him when I was in the 4th grade and he was my best friend and the biggest baby ever. It’s all about the time spent with them and how they’re raised as well and if you think about it, that’s any dog breed so I hate how pits are put down the most. Yes they’re protective but also the most lovable dog there is. I recently adopted another and he looks just like him, I cry almost all the time the bigger he gets lol.

One of my good friends adopted a pit mix and she is the sweetest thing! I think he adopted her when she was just a little under 1 year old. Definitely went through the typical "puppy phase" of chewing on things (she ate through the carpet and chewed up the molding lol) but she has definitely mellowed out and is actually shy - not aggressive at ALL. So happy you're thinking of adopting one! That's definitely a breed that needs more love! Also I'm a new subscriber of yours and I just gotta say I love the videos you create! Let’s say my pit is the most cuddliest, sweetest, most gentle and hilarious dog I have ever had!! I get so much negativity when they see him becuase he is such a big solid dog and they are going off stereotype but when they spend time with him for 5 mins they are shocked! like it’s how they are are grown up and treated and what the owner was like, the determines what the dog is like and it’s any dog not just the bully breed
i got the notification that claudia posted on her story and i clicked on it and saw that she was posting in 20 minutes and i got the biggest smile and that was the longest 20 minutes of my life lol
I work at a rescue and there is a pit bull that has been there since 2009. I can say without a doubt it is the sweetest dog I ever met and thats coming from a girl with 3 Shih Tzu's and a bunny!

i had a put growing up he was the sweetest thing in the world we found him in the street all by himself and he grew up so sweet he never barked and always gave kisses. he did have hip problems which is often a problem with pits

I have a pit named Jax and he is the sweetest thing, he is kind of hard to walk, but that is because he has so much energy! He is about 3 years old, and we found him on the side of the road when he was about 8 months old, so of course we couldn’t just leave him there. Pits are so much fun, my pit loves to play in the water, and he loves to cuddle! He also gets along with other dogs. I hope you find your perfect pit, they are one of the best breeds of dogs!:)

I adopted my first dog, some type of Pitbull / Staffie mix, almost a year ago and she is the best thing. I don’t know how shelters are by you, but in Florida I’d say about 90% of the dogs in the shelters are Pitbull-mixed. We just watched her in comparison to the other dogs there, for example she was less aggressive and barked less, let us touch her paws and teeth, signs like that that showed she was willing to trust us. Surprisingly those qualities were not uncommon in the shelter, you just have to take the time to get to know the dogs you’re looking at. Good luck!! 😘🥰
Pittie's are the best! I've almost always owned only pits. I currently have a rescue that was shot by local cops when he was 6 months old. We've had him for 8 years now and he's the sweetest boy. Thanks for spreading the love of such a misunderstood and overly abused breed!

My pit is my baby!!! I adopted him when he was three months old and he has been my world since then. One piece of advice I can give you is to make sure you train him or her completely before they become older and stubborn. I babied my dog a lot when I first got him because he was sick and now I’m dealing with the consequences because he likes to not listen sometimes LOL but I think that the idea is great!!! ❤️ He was the first dog I ever owned that was super people friendly and loves to cuddle.

Not a pitbull owner ( I definitely want one though!) but I've volunteered at a humane society for over 6 years. Let me tell you, pit mixes are almost ALWAYS the sweetest, most loving and well-behaved dogs at the shelter at any age. I highly recommend them to any first-time dog owner, especially the adults! Love that you can see past the negative stigma.
I adopted a Pitbull when he was a little over a year old and let me tell you it was the best decision I ever made. He is my love, my baby, I can’t imagine life without him! My boyfriend and I were a little nervous at first, not because he was a pit but because we weren’t sure how training a dog after he is no longer a puppy would be. However he has been GREAT, he’s such a good and smart dog! It makes me so happy you’re looking to not only adopt but adopt a pitty because they have such a bad rep we need to show the world how great they actually are! #adoptdontshop

Pit bulls are the sweetest most caring dogs. The people I babysit have always had them and any dog can be aggressive when it is trained that way. Pit bulls just want to cuddle and love their owners when they are treated well

I have a 6 year old pit/boxer/rottweiler mix who is truly the best dog. It's all about the owner and lifestyle, not the breed!
Also, mine has lived in apartments all his life (in San Francisco) and he's been totally fine! Just need to do long walks and park runs.
They do mellow out with age (mine did, especially at 2)... he's basically a breathing potato at this point.
Shelley Kim I actually don’t think it is the owner that’s actually what my cousin said and her pitbull ate my dog in my living room on thanksgiving. i do not think they are any meaner than other dogs but their jaw locks and when it does it is very damaging.
@@tylerwilson6161 in that situation it's still the owner. I know that my dog loves little dogs but doesn't prefer big ones. for everybody's safety, I keep him away from big dogs. they are definitely strong dogs but also need to be trained to let go when commanded to.
Mine is 3 now and he’s started picking up on our mannerisms. Sunday’s are our lazy days and now on sundays he’s the biggest couch potato. It’s so funny because the rest of the week he just wants to be outside 24/7 lol

I had a half pit and half lab😍 He was seriously the sweetest dog. Completely harmless. He was also the rut of his litter so he was really small. He was definitely a small/medium dog. I would love to get another one someday 💕
I have a pit bull and he’s literally the biggest baby. He gets offended if people come to the house and ignore him lol The one thing I can say though is be prepared to keep them active because if not they go a little stir crazy. He can defiantly be a menace when he doesn’t get enough play time!
