Astro Bot, is exactly what I was missing in gaming.
100% simple, fun and also innovative all at the same time. It's games like this that bring me back to a time when games were pure fun and didn't need the bells and whistles to pull me in. Definitely the best game I've played this year.

Astro Bot is probably gonna be my Game Of The Year!!!
It was Black Myth Wukong for a solid 3 weeks, then this happened, and now I feel like Wukong has no chance in my eyes. Astrobot sparks so much joy that it's basically impossible to put down.
It’s either Astro bot or FF7 Rebirth it’s between those two games to win GOTY 2024 I love both of them and I thought FF7 Rebirth was GOtY 2024 for sure but then Astro bot came out of nowhere and I’ve changed my mind Astro bot is a game we all needed and is a love letter to PlayStation throwbacks it’s insane it’s such a fun game and has put a huge smile on my face 😊 both games are 10/10 but if I had to choose I hope Astro bot wins GOTY
If i were to do my personal 5 platforming playstation hall of fame then it'd go
1. Crash Bandicoot 2
2. Ratchet and Clank 2
3. Jak and Daxter 1
4. Rayman Origins
5. Ratchet and Clank Crack in time
There as so many though on playstation I love it was tricky.

I was the same as a kid. I needed my dad’s help with beating levels on Crash Bandicoot 2.
I don't have the means to play Astro Bot myself right now, so I got my fix with someone here on youtube and not going to lie I cried A LOT. I really hope that I can have the time and chance to play all of them myself.
Rosie has a real gift for sound effects, once on stream she did a guinea pig impression that made my piggies think there was food😂
All the gaming platforms needs more of these type of platformers...everyone needs to enjoy it...
Locked in game of the year it only make sense, this game is pure bliss its main goal is to make you happy and does it so well.
It's settled & official: TEAM ASOBI needs to make Gravity Rush 3 - if anyone can reclaim Japan Studio's Torch and do this Gem of a Series: GRAVITY RUSH true justice - it's THEM! 💯
PlayStation needs to reform Japan Studios with Asobi at its head and make GR3.

I'm about 1/4 way thru and I agree it's a great game. If you like playroom it's probably 10x bigger with new ideas and looks & sounds incredible.
It's a must buy if you like platform games and I hope team asobi make more astro games for PS5 and PSVR2 😎🤟🏼❤️
The stage "Splashing Sprint" in Astrobot is gonna need to get boss busted. My daughter and I have been playing the game all day and this one is the bane of my existence. It's a "hidden" level that's mostly a mad sprint through fire with safe spots made with splashes of water in-between pylons of flame and missiles.
It was a tough one. The only advice I would give is that the ducks can be thrown at enemies. And sometimes you need to throw it because you run slower while holding it.

This might be recency bias but this is a major contender for game of the generation for me. It’s between this and ff16
Team Asobi needs to be upscaled and take on a bunch of the classic Japan Studio IPs... I'd KILL for a New & Modernised LocoRoco on PS5 😉

Astro bot is my game of the year, no disrespect to FF7 rebirth, but Astro takes me back to 1998, crash bandicoot warped. Such memories.
I think it will be hard to beat out some other titles too like Black Myth. That game, purely by sales numbers, will be hard to beat. But I know sales aren't everything too at times. Maybe Astro has a chance. 😮 😮😮

Littlebigplanet is in my hall of fame. The graphics that made it look like a kids TV show were amazing for the PS3 and the whole play create share thing was brilliant. A great single or co-op game but then you could make your own levels and share them online. We need this kind of creativity back on PS5 as it's missing.

@@cirotheb5 yeah Sony make some strange decisions. If I was in charge I would port Dreams to PC. The community would keep it alive for years. They should also port Gran Turismo 7 as it feels like a PC game with the mouse cursor and menus and I bet PC sim racers would love it.
Hopefully the failure of Concorde has made them rethink their strategies.

Once I saw Parappa Bot do his cute little "ᶦ ᵍᵒᵗᵗᵃ ᵇᵉˡᶦᵉᵛᵉ" I knew why Rosie loved this game
This game is as close to perfect as you could hope for.
It’s wkd. Played about 3 hours so far and what a joy. Why don’t developers make more effort with the Dual Sense like this game does?
I would watch an entire stream of Rosie quizzing the office and making everyone laugh with game sound effects and voices. I'm not saying she needs more to do, but I would definitely watch something like that.
Splashing sprint, say no more.. they were having a laugh with the fire, like Dante going through hell! Absolutely love the game, going for 98th platinum
my favorite moments were defo the second “special level”, a certain bot in a casino level and in one of the hidden levels, the cast of bots were so nice to see (not surprising now that i think about it but a surprise to find).
If I'm guessing right (on your hints) I was also surprised, and more like "FINALLY" when I found a bot in the Casino... Franchise Reps from it's 3rd and 4th Games were found hours earlier in 2 of the World/Galaxy 2 "Shape Levels" (I believe it's the Triangle Levels in World 2?)
Another character from the same Publisher I was waiting forever for and eventually did show up really late game (they even have a Trophy tied to them in the "Crash Site" HUB)
41:18 Rosie's Sound Effects Quiz ; D
I was having the podcast run in the background while doing a tactical challenge in Vanquish and then suddenly this quiz started. Needless to say it ruined my run but the laughter was worth it.
I was convinced the screaming one was Cortex falling in the opening Crash 2 cutscene. Because that IS the noise he makes!
I love that they added a 30th Anniversary photo background, where all the bots you have rescued hang out. Team Asobi don't just develop games, they pour their hearts and souls into them.
As for the platformers I liked, and still do, aside from Spyro and Crash, they are: the Gex 3D games, 40 Winks, Croc, Rayman 2, Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, and although we will sadly never see them on PlayStation, my 2 all time fave platformers are Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie. The closest we got to it was Yooka Laylee - another great platformer.
Okay we need an hour of the Rosie quiz, it was the most hilarious thing ever!

It will I assume if this one succeeds, and doesn't need enough sales per time and increasing too much. They didn't market Gravity Rush 2 well and obviously ASOBI are downsized then an umbrella studios so maybe they have a chance.
It requires less then the bigger games I assume but if audiences don't support it and whatever sales target they have yeah it's tough for niche Sony games to be supported if audiences besides the dedicated care enough.
2 times were free apps (made by the Call of the Mountain studio at launch for PS4) the camera app for PS4 wasn't by Japan Studio, they were ex Liverpool staff after all, then for PSVR free playroom app. Besides of course Rescue Mission/now Astro bot here.

Platforms are not my favorite, but the Horizon Zero Dawn fase had me crying tears of joy!
Crash and Spyro were the kings of the PS1 platformers, I wanna nominate Jackie Chan Stunmaster, lol That game was hard though

Really wish I could play it but I don't have a Ps5. Will have to ask my brother if he intends on buying it. Also, copium, but the fact they've bothered to add ape escape in makes me think maybe it could get a revival??
Also, Amy is really good at adding to the conversation. As much as I loved Ash as a person, I always had the sense she wasn't as into video games as the rest of the team, which I suspect is why she ultimately ended up leaving access.
Playing and loving it so far, need to figure out what the vortex shape is though on the map before entering a level 🤔

Guys, Media Molecules Tren game needs to be made standalone for PS5 not locked inside Dreams on PS4.
That game is absolutely amazing. The charm of LBP and Astro with nostalgia and the polish thst you expect from a PS Studio. Please make it standalone so more people can enjoy it!
Really should be GOTY. The Juxtaposition of Astro and Concord is unbelievable.
So now we need an Astro Bot Karting game, the potential for level design and defence and offense weaponry from the various Bots and the character's they are based off has great potential. Could add in some Diddy Kong Racing gameplay elements.

Platforming Hall of Fame without Nintendo games is pretty lame, but the new Astrobot and Rayman Legends are excellent games
