@@StarlingBirch keep up the good work, look forward to seeing more climbing videos. We are anxious to schedule our next climbing trip. Hope you are staying well.
That was so awesome! I remember John climbing trees in 3rd grade at my house and thinking he was a mad man. What an achievement. Would love to have seen the repel!
Haha! John, obviously just kept climbing and I'm sure will keep climbing. I was fortunate that he wanted to lead this climb and that he was down to be filmed. A cool and talented guy for sure! Thanks for watching
I wonder if the old ammo can register is still up there. I wrote in it in 2002. Its climbs like these that I find i very hard to not take advantage of myself.
@@StarlingBirch Of course!!! I live in Germany and dont want to fly (also dont have the money for it) So I dont think I will have the oportunity to climb in the states any time soon. But we have the alpes and norway in reach of one days train-travel, so there are things to do and adventures to have. :D
luckily for me and other people who've droned this tower, Castleton is NOT in a national park. from what i understand getting one of those permits is no easy task
Dude, sick video with some great editing! This climb is on my tick list to knock off this year. I'm also trying to create similar adventure content and would love if you checked out my channel too! I just subscribed and liked and I'm stoked to see what you post next. Keep crushing it!
views, comments and feed back is always appreciated, so thank you for your engagement. if you're able to clarify what you consider to be climbing vs (sort of) climbing when it comes to video that would be helpful as well. were you hoping for a more passive documentation of the climb itself with less editing? were you hoping for more beta and instruction? did you find the copyright free dubstep inappropriate? these kinds of specifics can be very helpful when considering the creation of future climbing videos. Thanks John M!
This edit is so sick, Love what you created, even with the summit pitch in the middle missing. Pumped to hit up Moab in 2 weeks from now!
Thank you for watching and for the good words. Hopefully Moab treats you well!
if you want to check out some more climbing content I just posted a new video and would love to hear what you think.
Very well shot video. Love the disclaimer at the 2 min mark. Always good to mix some humor in with the climbing! You got a new subscriber!
well thank you so much for watching, subscribing and appreciating the humor! not everyone does, so comments like these make my day!

Badass climb man! You are right at the beginning: sometimes we really are too comfortable. Risk is what makes us feel alive!
Very true. Thanks for watching our climb!

That was an amazing video, made my legs twinges looking at the height
Love the drone footage at the end to top off a very cool climb🤟😎🤟
The frontal lobe loss disclaimer at the beginning had me dead 😂
Hands sweating over here!! Beautiful too though!
Mine would have been sweating too if they weren't frozen. Thanks for all the feed back!
What a view! 😎
Nice to see you bouncing around
it's good to be bouncing around. thanks for watching!
I'm afraid of heights. This video made every pore in my body sweat.

@@StarlingBirch But I would have liked less jumpy scenes and less music.
@@stevenjfrisch I'm sure you're not alone on that one. 😂
@@stevenjfrisch i'm sure your not the only one.
Inspiring n jaw dropping
The use of dubstep was slightly exsessive.
But only slightly.
Cool video.
I REALLY want to climb that tower.
:D
only slightly.. hahaha! thanks for watching and commenting! i hope you're standing on the top soon

What was that harness you used on your first trad lead?
I got tired just considering the approach climb!
same here!
Did you have to get a permit to use your drone in a national park? Or were you more like let's see them try and come up here and get me?
luckily for me and other people who've droned this tower, Castleton is NOT in a national park. from what i understand getting one of those permits is no easy task
@@StarlingBirch Nice!!! Thanks for the info.. I will be there in December with my drone at the ready. :)
Amazing 🧗♂️ story telling and edit bruuda!
I dont take that compliment lightly coming from a story teller of your caliber. thank you for that sir!!
Starling Birch you are too kind
@@Jasondeheus just saying what I see
Amazing!!
Would love to do this. But I am terrified of heights. So it will never happen. 😂
awesome
I wish I could go out and do things Like that
maybe there's a way..
Did you happen to see the 1964 chevy Impala up there? Lol
i did not. it was extremely disappointing!
You are crazy! Eeks!
To me the rappel down would be more terrifying than the climb up 🧗♀️ lol like nope where is the helicopter 🚁
hahahaha!! exactly!
That was amazing! Is this your first posted video since being down there or have I just been missing out?
No, you haven't missed a thing. Took a second to reorient myself down here. Thanks for following man!!
You better still be alive enough to come to the red carpet party at the pub in april to watch the documentary on raptor center
if i do die i'll be there in spirit

Really like the cinematography! However, the dubstep you chose was TERRIBLE. Perhaps try.... Opiuo?
Thanks for watching and for the feed back! Do you know if Opiuo dubstep is copyright free?
I liked the part where the metal things go into the rock spaces.
i forgot what those things do, but the green one was my favorite
