- The Overcooked games are madcap, multiplayer focussed party games where you must fulfil food orders by working as a team in co-op. Both Overcooked 1 and 2 are already on the Switch but this 'All You Can Eat' edition bundles both together along with all DLC ever released and makes a few quality of life tweaks too. Is it worth getting? Well, let's find out....

Seems a perfect game for that "non-gaming" partner, as you said. Unfortunately, I don't think I could get my wife to play. the frantic pace is the fun part, but my wife would likely just find it stressful. Only game she's played with me has been Mario Kart 64. Even with that, she's done after about 3 races..
Other than the usual Mario Party series, the ones that I have seen that look similar and fun is MOVING OUT.
Last month when Overcooked 2 was free for one week, my non gaming girlfriend and I almost completed the whole game in 2 days. That really got me pleasently surprised, because it was only the second game which she really liked and wanted to play herself. The first one is Box Boy! + Box Girl! Curious to hear other opinions!
Death Squared is fun for couples or families who like puzzles. Requires loads of communication!
Multiplayer is so stressful, but I love it. You learn a lot about your fellow players, too. For example, I found out my friends are fucking idiots: "Why are you chopping an onion?! When dont even need onions right now! Get your shit together, Branda!"

Multiplayer online is worse cause I literally have to be in a discord group to find people who'll be online at the same time as me.

I plan to pick this one up just for the convenience of having DLC and both games together in the same package. It's nice to see the quality of life updates as well. Thanks for the review!

Alr guys after playing this game for 1 month it has been amazing! The graphics are very good and the video was helpful. You can play all the dlc’s and i must tell you it was very fun especially playing with friends and family. But one thing to mention that playing online with strangers is fun but sometimes you may not find a person to play with and you rarely play with 3 strangers. But still a good game and a must have if you got friends and family to play with!
Playing this while having a few drinks really ups the sheer chaos 😂

That is absolutely the way it is meant to be played. My hubs and I have had some great nights drinking and screaming while playing this game!
I've never played it sober. Probably why I never finished either one. 😆
I have always gravitated towards more single player games to be honest. Growing up, not many people wanted to play games like me. If the online aspect pops off like AMONG US and FALL GUYS have then it might be something I can get into, otherwise I will stick with the traditional single player storyline games.
Never really played one of these games but I'm considering picking up the physical it looks like good fun
This is definitely a must have game for coop party fun.
I've been playing this a lot with my girlfriend during the winter lockdown in England.. Its perfect for that! But be careful... it can destroy your friendships and relationships! Haha its a ton of fun but can also be super frustrating. Sometimes I feel like some levels are designed for more than 2 players though. Even with lots of practice and high efficiency some 3 Stars and 4 Stars are just so hard to get.
Would be a definite buy if I hadn't already just picked up the 1 plus 2 pack last month.
Yea, I just got this game today on Xbox. Its good and the online was working for me. The only problem with the game Is that there are bugs, bugs, bugs, and more bugs. Players getting stuck in counters/garbage cans. I once dashed out the screen at 100mph. Also, characters clliping through each other, clipping through corners, and grabbing items in impossible places. I like the new settings like dyslexia friendly mode and the color blind icons under players(the shapes). Honestly my rating if they fix bugs is 5/5. But if they don't ill rate it 3.9 out of 5.
I got this game for 4 cents because I had a 75% off discount because I had overcooked 2 which left me with 10$ but then I had 950 gold points which turned it into only 0.05 cents which really made me happy
Thank you for the review from a single-player perspective. None of the reviews talked about playing through as a single-player and the people I asked were always snarky ("Duh, just get a girlfriend." as well as assuming someone's sexual orientation 🙄). So now I feel better about picking up this edition knowing it will still be enjoyable even if it is playing solo for the moment.🖖🏾

I played overcooked 2 and absolutely loved it. Unfortunately I don’t know people who like the series and wanna play it. 10 bucks right now is a steal!
Such a good game the dlc is awesome and it really feels good when you and the other player get into a rhythm and routine. Not a fan of playing it with the single bok choy-con ;D (purely for the pun). Sophie.

My wife and I played this but she’s not into gaming, so we never got past the tense, frantic feeling the game gives you 😅 it was really enjoyable though and provided some funny moments for the while we played. This collection looks like a pretty good deal for all of the games, though.

This looks like a wicked game to play with the family , last one I played with my lass was streets of rage 4, last ones with the kids was smash bro’s and mario kart. So I’ll be keeping tabs on this

Well I have to admit that I've been interested in getting overcooked but never did because even if it has a single player mode I think most people agree that it's definitely a co-op game, *but I didn't really know that you could connect with randoms online!*
Which obviously solves the issue of not having potential co-op partners around often enough to feel like you're able to play it a satisfactory amount and getting your money's worth.
Even though it's better with people you know I don't typically buy games exclusively for couch co-op.
So yeah that detail along with it being the ultimate collection of both games does make it very enticing and I think the price seems fair but I will still wait until I see it on sale...
*The following became a unplanned rant about backlogs so it's kinda unrelated to the video but I think it's still worth reading if you also feel like your library of unplayed games keeps growing.*
Because I honestly can't really afford anything right now but also because I have a ton to play already and feel like it's unnecessary to spend money on anything I won't play immediately regardless of how good the price is or how much I think I'll play it at some point because it's not likely that I'll run out of games anytime soon so I might as well wait until I feel like I could. I've realized that if I don't play the games building up it doesn't really make them a better deal if the same money could buy expensive AAA titles if I ultimately spend more quality time with them.
So my perspective of value has greatly shifted away from quantity and savings to a more realistic view of what I'll actually pick up and play and quality time because time is a limited resource after all just like money but if your backlog keeps growing you're obviously running out of available time before money so you would do better spending more money if it results in a better time because it doesn't matter how many theoretical hours of gameplay you can scrape togheter if you simply don't have the time to get through it anyway.
idk when they added it but now if you own 2 you can buy this for 10 bucks usd, its definitly worth it, the assist mode is a big help for me and my wife

Already have both, each on different platform. Great fun especially in coop, but I feel no interest to buy it again on any platform.
I keep meaning to try ‘Phogs’ reminds me of this in tone and accessibility.

I have the first game and my two kids and I love playing it together. However I felt that some levels were unbalanced for three players. Am I right about that or do we just suck at the game? 🤣 If that is the case, was the balancing addressed in the second game?

Actually, as far as I know, there is a fourth star once you beat the game. Least there was on Overcooked 2, so probably here too.
It was in an update I think fir overcooked 2.
Yeah, I thought I remembered hearing that but there were only three when I played it first time around and the fourth isn't evident at the start here. Like you said, it must become available after completing it. Glen

I played this with my sister using online which worked great. So there are options besides co-op at home!

@@aisyasabili1818 Yes you can. Both with random players or with friends. It even goes cross-platform but it is important that they have this version of the game.
This is the most stressing game I ever played.... gosh.... It feels like a workout.
I bought it after watching this review and regret it. The main appeal to me was being able to play the first game online and local wirelessly. Well, online is laggy (input delay, unable to interact, objects floating in place while the environment is moving, etc). Ironically, local wireless is even worse. Player two constantly getting dropped out. My wife and I are two feet from each other. I've never seen a game so screwed up that online works better than local. Two years later this still isn't fixed? I've gone through Team 17's entire website and tried every solution and they either don't work or don't work for long.
Having not experienced either issue it sounds like something local. Maybe DNS settings or NAT strictness? Mark

I spent the ps5 money on a new MH rise switch as mine was old, and 5 copies of the games for the kids, and a mh pro controller....

Overcooked 1 has been remodelled using the Overcooked 2 engine - not sure if that was the version they used on PS4 but that's the main change.
The last overcooked game is one oft the most difficult games i've ever played.
I alrerady own the complete Overcooked Franchise. I was a little bit disappointed as this is not a new game in the series.
Does anyone know if the loading times are faster on the switch compared to one and 2
