That is the one flaw with the packaging in this line, that it is just the same old blurb that has appeared on every single two pack since the line started. I really wish they would change it and just put a few words up to describe the specific characters in each box. I don't even care what they say, just give me some different words to read so I can get a small dopamine hit from it. 🙂
@@NostalgiaUnboxed I’ve been brainstorming little cards (sort of like the bio cards included on the vintage Playmates card backs) with character & first appearance info to display with my NECA cartoon collection. I love all the custom stuff you’ve been putting out so far; feel free to run with the idea, if you’d like, and put it up on your ko-fi. I’d buy ‘em. 👍🏾👌🏾

Deud, luvd the great vid!!! I completely feel the sameway about the new wave NECA Toon Figs and the state of this epic Toy Line in general. :) Also, the posing segment was DYNAMITE!! Thats sum absolutely awesome LA Fearfactory Heavy-Metal right there. 👍😎👍

Thanks for the upload! Long live the youth in us all and the joy a toy brings.
Grunt and Jersey Red are my two favourite characters from the entire TMNT series, this box set was a dream come true for me, how dare you say that no one cares about these characters! 😀 Excellent review as always!
Excellent (and funny) review - loved it! Really good to see you bringing something new to the toy review space. Your channel deserves to keep growing and to be a real success. Keep 'em coming.
And despite Jersey Reds fanfare and first ever action figure release she's only ever appeared in two episodes of the 1987 tv series! And ditto for the rest of Bebop and Rocksteady's Gang.😉🤔📺🐢
I see no one has said what that can is really supposed to be yet, so I’m your Huckleberry. “Umm, actually… according to Trevor Zammit that can is supposed to be the aerosol antidote that they spray Michelangelo with to turn him from human back into a turtle in the episode featuring Jersey Red (S3 E40)” 🤓🤓🤓
Have you come across the channel The Turtle Nexus? It's a bit silly at times with the random A.I. voiceover work, but it's definitely an awesome channel to learn about a particular Ninja Turtles character, to the history of the Archie comics run. And the videos aren't too short, nor too long, they're _juuuuuust_ right.
I agree with you about the inconsistent cell shading too. For example Casey Jones in this line has darker shading on the backs of his bare skin arms, but Grunt and Jersey Red don't have any shading on their skin? And I would expect there to be dark green on the back of the Lizard body too, but it looks like it is all just one colour. Maybe it was to save slightly on cost due to the fact that this pack gave us two and a half figures?
That’s a good point, maybe so. I’m the end, I definitely prefer no cell shading, so I hope they need to save more cost on the rest of the figures. Haha
@@NostalgiaUnboxed Ha, do you know what, I thought the cell shading was a bit odd at first but I actually kinda like the cell shading now because it gives you more colours to look at with each figure. Since they are from the cartoon, many of the figures only have 4 or 5 colours on their whole body. However, with the cell shading, this increases it to maybe 6 to 8 colours now, and it gives you a reason to occasionally turn the figures round 180 degrees on your shelf to allow your eyes to take in the different colours that are present. With the different front and rear colour palettes, it basically gives each figure in the line two different 'looks' for the price of one.
I was patiently waiting for you to review this two-pack set! Interestingly enough Jersey Red seemed to luckout on not having a mutated form LOL! 🤗❓🙏🙋♀
Those extra hands are so bizarre aren't they! The longer monster nails don't look right on the human skin hands, but was that just because they wanted the gripping fingers to fold in and so didn't want the nails to be too long with the fingers in that position? Then with the green grabbing hands they could 'afford' to make the nails longer with the hand in that position? Really weird.
@@NostalgiaUnboxed The more I think about this, if we look at the other members of Bebop and Rocksteady's gang, we have Scrag, Tall Thug and Short Gangster. Now Scrag's mutant bat form only really has 'Gotcha' grabbing hands and he doesn't have mutant bat hands that can grasp his human weapons, (you can balance the sledgehammer in the bat hands but I wouldn't really count that personally as the weapon falls out fairly easily). Then we look at Tall Thug, and I think he comes with one big mutated shrew hand, and one small shrivelled up shrew hand, and neither can grasp his human weapons. This is also true with Short Gangster where his mutated dog hands can't grasp his weapons either. So the other mutant members of this gang haven't been provided with different hands for grasping weapons, so maybe Grunt's lizard form wasn't supposed to even come with two sets of hands and the real factory error was including these extra hands in the box period, as opposed to correctly including them but in the wrong colour. If Grunt had come with lizard green weapon grasping hands then that in itself would have been weird when comparing him with the other mutant figures. The plot thickens! 😀
@@nicholashill8724 oh wow! I haven’t messed with the other sets yet, so thank you for sharing this! What a wild choice then to have these extra hands with claws. Haha
It’s a strange issue. Apparently none of the other gang members have gripping hands for their mutated form so this doesn’t make sense as a choice for him.
I think I'm the dummy who doesn't like it lol but that's just cause I don't collect animated tmnt (haulathon was an easy pass this year believe it or not lol) and I have no clue who these two are haha
