Where did you get that story from, because it is wrong. Niel Gow's second wife was a real person, Margaret Urquhart, who he greatly mourned the loss of.
Solid. Well done. I so wish I could physically practice enough to play the fiddle at even an intermediate level. It’s so hard on both shoulder,s, and neck. I’m a mandolin player, so I have to learn the parts on it, and then figure it out on the fiddle before it’s too painful to continue. It sucks because the fiddle is the most intimate of instruments IMO. You have to get used to not seeing the fingerboard whilst playing, and it’s just requires slow, deliberate, repetition to play well enough that someone will actually allow you to play in the same room with them. It sucks, and I have taken lessons from two different instructors, plus a year long program with Darol Angor on Artist Works. It really sucks. Thanks for the feedbacks though guys!
