Hi @dougrera8984 Entry-level salaries for Code Chrysalis graduates are generally competitive and should be able to support your life here. Our 2023 graduates earn an average salary of ¥5.36M. This is higher than the current 2024 market rate of ¥5M. How expensive it actually is to live in Japan depends of course on many factors, and one's lifestyle.
The cost of living in Japan is much lower than in the West. The tech job market is also far less brutal in Japan. The main thing you need to be concerned with is avoiding traditional companies with their toxic work culture.
Is it necessary to have a computer science or tech related degree in a college degree while getting a job in Japan? I feel that people with non tech degree will find it difficult to get a job because most of the companies give opportunities only to tech or computer science students.
It is not necessary! Our students all come from very different backgrounds. After they've graduated our bootcamp, we coach them during the job hunting process! It's hard work, but anybody could become a software engineer! 💪
Very very proud of you thuli go a ahead good luck ❤❤❤
