Hiljatra | Kumor Hiljatra 2017 | Pithoragarh | पिथौरागढ़ | Uttarakhand

A festival of pastoralists and agriculturist -Hilljatra came to Pithoragarh valley from West Nepal. The folk legends based on the victory of traditional deities over the demon are enacted in a fantastic masquerade replete with the chiming of bells and hymns in the local dialects supported by loud instrumental music and the booming dhol nagara (drums). Presenting here the video of Kumor HILJATRA 2017.

Chand king (kuru)who went to sorar (nepal) to participate in hiljatra ,was able to sacrifice a Buffalo with horns covring the neck .The people became very happy and wanted to present king Kuru a gift
Kuru thought of introducing this festival in sor valley
And asked for four masks ,Ladkiya bhoot halwaha,two Bullocks and and one implement
