Aaron needs to get into coaching if he isn’t already, and commentary if the opportunity arises. He’s so good at explaining the shot shapes succinctly and what the high percentage plays (and good misses) are. Good luck to you both this weekend!!
If I remember correctly, I think he did some commentary with Terry The Disc Golf Guy for some coverage of Memorial (i think it was) back in the off season! Great listen and watch!! He’s such an insightful golfer!
I agree that Aaron is uniquely articulate. But I have to say that he comes across as petulant sometimes. You see him describe how he would design a hole. Then he misses the shot for the real hole two or three times. So the effect is a bit like-I can’t quite cut it as it is, but trust me, if I designed it…
Love seeing you two find your flow in filming together. It’s a much less goofy/funny tone than with Brodie, but it makes sense and leaves room for the teaching/analysis. Crushing it guys!
Headed up there Wednesday, caddied for Brodie last year and got to watch some practice rounds with you both (Ezra and Aaron). Good luck to you both this week, certainly two courses anyone could win at
Enjoying the practice/preview rounds this season fellas. Goose has so much knowledge of the game even to a non touring pro not playing these courses. Keep it up!
I like slick tee pads... because I wear the Xero Shoes Prio SR (slip resistant) if pads are wet, and have just as much traction as if it's dry, so it gives me an advantage!
I'm certainly not at a level to play these courses but enjoy hearing the thought process/strategy of you and Aaron. I think it is applicable to the courses I play on a lesser level.
a guy that works at the PDGA told me that if you pass the Certified Rules Official Exam on the web site that you are allowed to play any Elite series event or Major that is on the Pro Tour schedule. I have one more year of eligibility left ( 2025 ) so I think this might just be the event I am going to play next year. Even if I am an amateur yet
Aaron's camera work cracks me up!! His movements are naturally kind of fast and jerky, and so is his camera work. Poor guys doomed to not be a great camera man!
Ezra, what U.S. course, on the pro tour, would you pick for someone who has never played the courses to play? I live in Peoria/Morton area so I play Northwood black a lot. But what course would you recommend if you could only recommend one? Thanks man!
They should add an advertisement wall around the OB on hole 6 so nobody hits the center tree near the green and slides OB. That way only bad shots that land or skip there are OB.
I'm not sure if this already exists, but I think there should be a survey that players take to provide feedback on the course and it should be open for the general public to see. I feel like there was a lot of criticism of the course in this video, and I am confused on if this is general knowledge within all the players on the tour, or if it's just isolated to this video. I like wooded course, and this course seems really cool, but there is so much criticism to it.
@@EzraAderholdDG hellfire and quake are solidly in the bag. legit so many throw ins with my quake. hellfire has amazing birdies on it. quake such a good mid/approach disc forehand. the man could go on.
Ricky does have the lowest bogey percentage for the season, at least prior to worlds when I last checked. I don’t trust throw in data enough to say whether he or Gannon or somebody random has more c3 makes. They’re probably disadvantaged by how easy they make some look, with stat keepers underestimating how far they threw in from because they make it look like any other c2 putt
For those who have never played this course before, it is all wayyyyyyy more hilly than the camera makes it look. all the uphill holes are sooooooo uphill and all the downhill holes are soooooo downhill compared to what the camera makes it look like.
I don't know why this stuck in my head but it did so I checked for you guys. Smuggler's Notch is technically closer distance wise to Buffalo, NY, but Maple Hill is more than an hour shorter of a drive to Buffalo, NY because there's a much more direct highway route. You're welcome for this useless information.
Love these practice rounds, however I hope they NEVER take your recommendations to take out trees, lol. Viewers don't mind the fluke - we love seeing crazy shots snaking through/around trees.
@@EzraAderholdDG I mean I definitely get the why, and if I were a pro I'd almost certainly agree. I think it's just the difference of perspective from the average/below average DG player (and very well may be wrong for actual benefit of the tour). Perhaps it's just seeing pros deal with what we encounter on many local courses, lol.
@@fingolfinfinwe for sure. Yeah I get that people like seeing luck more than good shots, still wild but it is what it is. Making the comparison to local courses is a good point
First time I have to outright disagree with goose. The 2 trees on hole 8 should stay. I like it not because it increases skill but adds a roll of the dice for aggressive play. Maybe it makes an aggressive play more consistent to remove them, but I love the gamble they add. Makes the shot have more weight. Yes you can get to a great spot on your drive but it's still a risk so personally I like how it is. Pretty much everything else about course design goose has damn good opinions on. Not going to agree on that one though.
I disagree with both of your course design opinions. They are valuable but trees take decades to grow and once they are gone more trees will fall die or go with them. pretty soon the game turns into birdie or die open courses... I've seen this happen so many times over the 25 years I've played the game.
Lol, All we hear all season is how Pros dont throw Mids anymore cause every tee shot is driver, driver, driver. We get here and make it 8 or 9 holes before we here complaining about no driver shots😂
@@prattacaster ok fair, yeah I know other people talk about that. I think they're take is wrong. (Not saying you agree or disagree tho). We're supposed to be athletes lol, we should be throw 14 drivers (like golf) in one day without our bodies falling apart 😂

Aaron’s form and technique works great for him, it shouldn’t be taught to amateurs
He has a real future in either field. Very gifted.

Woah 🤯
No one is better than Goose at hole breakdown and explaining his shot selection.
Best duo on TH-cam right now! Love the videos boys keep grinding!!
Waiting for the Bogey Bros to comment...
@NSBwoodsman you gonna be waiting forever bruh
Best duo for these course previews for sure.
U guys r great - especially the way you compliment people and tell groundkeepers your appreciation. Thanks so much!
We try to give credit where it is due!
Me and the boys took a trip from GA to Vermont and man I get why everyone loves it. This place is a must visit even for non disc golfers 💪🏻
Great video as always. That neck crack of Ezra’s at 39:52 gave me chills. Funny how the microphone really picked up that sound.
