So 7 turtles is basically when you are screwed.
It's possible to survive if you're near-perfect, but I've only ever done it once.
Keep in mind I also managed to complete "booksquirm forever" on original hardware.
From what I know I'm the only person to pull it off, but there's a video of it with TAS.

So how'd you manage the netplay without desyncing?
Have you tried this specific game online before? As long as everyone has the correct settings, the chances are very low that it would suddenly desync. It's best to play this with cheats to unlock everything and no memory card.

You can find it on eBay, not sure if ISO is legal or not
ISOs aren't legal, but it's much better than paying ridiculous money on the secondary market
