    Hi Erin
    Md Afsar Ali
Can cover bit about accessibility testing in Mobile ? Any automation tool for that ?
    Erin
hello and welcome 😀 @Md Afsar Ali , yes we should cover some mobile accessibility in a little bit.
    Venkata Rajesh Varanasi
TH-cam supports this kind of captions. Which is now in beta phase but works at least 80%
    Erin
There are some open source and chrome extensions I will recommend, such as Lighthouse (chrome extension). And Testim (automated).
    Md Afsar Ali
    Thanks @Erin
    Erin
    of course @Md Afsar Ali
    Rishikesh Memane
Is there any course or training available to learn accessibility testing? Can we automate accessibility testing? If yes, what all popular tools available?
    Erin
    great questions @Rishikesh Memane
    Lokesh Sinha
In my project we are going to implement this. Hence this session will help a lot. Thanks erin
    Erin
I've found that accessibility hasn't been something included in any of my job training, or courses in school. I have mostly had to gain knowledge and experience on my own time.
    Md Afsar Ali
For web i think can use Axe ..for automation
    Erin
By using some of the tools we're demonstrating for you now 🙂
    Erin
    Axe is good.
    parth patil
does axe have future testing scope?
    Erin
Axe launches through dev tools, I had a little hiccup there thinking I needed to hit the browser extension again. shelterin
    Erin
@parth patil could you elaborate on your question? Are you asking if it can develop trends on where you may have future accessibility issues?
    Md Afsar Ali
How you guys report to the business and how you decide valid issue or severity or priority etc ??
    Erin
    RIGHT NOW 🙂 I explain
    Erin
(great timing question @Md Afsar Ali )
    Md Afsar Ali
    Great 👍👍
    Erin
But essentially, you want to report the Serious and Critical issues right away and bring them to your manager or Lead. Document the minor ones to put in the backlog. And work into sprints.
    Erin
    elbowbump
    Erin
@Rishikesh Memane this may answer your earlier question
    Kalyani Kenjale
    hie Erin
    Erin
    welcome @Kalyani Kenjale
    Venkata Rajesh Varanasi
How easy or hard to implement accessibility features to our website/app are there any readymade tools or plugins for this.?
    Kalyani Kenjale
gestures in mobile instead of using navigation keys user can swipe up trough screen and go back and forth , cn we consider it as an accessibility feature
    parth patil
does this Acessibilty testing need coding knowledge?
    parth patil
whats are other prerequisiste to excel in accessibilty testing?
    Erin
@parth patil you do not need coding knowledge to begin testing accessibility. 🙂
    Rajan Domala
In Agile world , how feasible it is to adapt the accessibility testing , considering the Sprint dead lines and resource availability
    Erin
@Rajan Domala usually it is something thought about in the early stages of development. And good developers already know some of those best practices as part of their code.
    Erin
But it's rather easy to audit for accessibility, and if concerns are found in production, you can bring in those issues into an agile sprint.
    danda sweetmouni
where will perform accessibility testing in QA/Stage/prod?
    Erin
It's usually something you do on your own, honestly. Unless it's part of the dev process and UI/UX teams are involved that would usually be their duty to enforce those guidelines.
    Erin
It helps you as a tester to be aware of all of these things though. To help grow your knowledge and confidence.
    Erin
    learning
    Erin
You are all asking really great questions! Keep them coming. 😀
    Ajay Lunia
Awesome guys keep asking questions and clear your doubts directly from Erin The Accessibility Champion.
    Rajan Domala
Most of the UI and UX bugs are kept on backlog, and those bugs will be there unless users raise it Production. As you rightly said it has to be adapted by dev teams to make UI more user friendly
    Erin
exactly. I have seen that too, @Rajan Domala
    Venkata Rajesh Varanasi
How to figure out the user base and implement the relevant accessibility features. What domain has much importance with respect to implementation of accessibility features

Erin Can you Please share Addons you use to tes?
    Pragya Rathore
Also do you test on Chrome browser or on all Browsers?
    Erin
@Venkata Rajesh Varanasi that's a tough one to determine if you're the only person considering accessibility. Sometimes, you have to try to find out what that impact is on your own.
    danda sweetmouni
is it comes under functional or nonfunctional?
    Erin
    Chrome extensions
    Erin
aXe dev tools (search in chrome store)
    Kalyani Kenjale
could you please explain zoom text only feature of firefox browser in terms of accessibility?
    Erin
    WAVE evaluation tool (chrome extension)
    Erin
@Kalyani Kenjale If I understand, you're asking about zoom in FireFox browser? It's useful for visually impared people to make text larger and easier to read.
    Venkata Rajesh Varanasi
Thanks @Erin. also the session is quite informative. This is a great learning in terms of testing in a very different perspective.
    Pragya Rathore
Erin Do you test every single web page for accessibility ?
    Erin
    😀 thank you kindly!
    Pragya Rathore
So critical and medium issues you Log the defect to some defect management tool like JIRA or how you handle Bugs??
    Erin
@Pragya Rathore not always. If I find a site that only has a few critical or serious issues, and very little moderate or minor ones on ONE page, then it's lower risk. And I might not check all pages.
    Erin
    Correct.
    Pragya Rathore
    GOtcha
    Pragya Rathore
    Cheatsheet
    danda sweetmouni
can we do accessibility testing for every application?if not what is the impact on customer end?
    Soma Alapati
Using automated accessibility testing tools is a great way to start accessibility testing. Using these simple tools we can identify up to 50% of the issues without having any knowledge on accessiblty
    Erin
    @Soma Alapati exactly! great point!!
    Soma Alapati
Yes it is possible to do a11y testing on every application
    Erin
@danda sweetmouni you can make that choice. Ultimately if the business isn't pushing you to test accessibility of an application or webpage, then you decide how much effort to put towards it.
    Soma Alapati
Accessibility Insights from Microsoft is a open source and can be useful as a checklist to perform a11y testing.
    Erin
    well said @Soma Alapati elbowbump
    Pragya Rathore
Erin share your blog link PLz
    Soma Alapati
I learned something new(funkify) today. Thank you so much. Its a great tool to create empathy towards inclusiveness.
    Erin
I shared my link but I'm not seeing it post.
    QAFox
May be you can break the link and share Erin
    Erin
I'll also leave it in the comments. And we'll update the description of this video with all the relevant links from our demonstrations and tools today.
    Soma Alapati
Lighthouse uses 'Axe' internally. So using open sourced 'Axe Extension'(Axe DevTools) for Chrome/FF/Edge is one of the option to start automated accessibility testing.
    Pragya Rathore
So Soma Alapati using just AXE tool finishes our testing ??
    Soma Alapati
You can find up to 50% of the issues on any page using this type of automated tools.
    Erin
I'll add my contact info and continue the conversation in the comments!!
    Erin
Thank you all for spending this time with us!!
    Pragya Rathore
    ThankYou !
    Soma Alapati
You have to depends on manual testing for the rest to cover.
    Ajay Lunia
    Thanks Erin 🙂
    QAFox
    Thanks Erin 🙂

How much time do I need to learn the accessibility testing

    • @QueenTester
      @QueenTester 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Hi Prashant. You will find that the learning never stops. You will find new information all the time around accessibility and testing. Begin learning by trying to run some accessibility tests on your favorite website. Try to use the website without your mouse and see how far you get without any barriers. Begin to grow your knowledge by reading articles or connecting with #a11y communities.

I wish the uhu sound was not there. It's so annoying. Person who was asking question should have muted himself. Uhu sound like 15 times in a minute is too much.
