Improvisation envoûtante, sur un thème cher à Gert van Hoef. Ce petit orgue, purement mécanique, d'à peine vingt jeux, avec ses deux claviers (et une disposition de la console originale), a une sonorité des plus agréables. Et, comme toujours, Gert sait donner de l'instrument dont il joue le maximum de ses possibilités. (Et puis nous retrouvons Jan de Rooij comme registrant !)

Gert - You and Jan are back together making really good music. Better and better all the time. It is nice to see that you mix classics with transcriptions. Bring the people back to music and the music to the people. With is a bit unsteady in that organ.

One of my favorite contemporary pieces played by my favorite contemporary pipe organ artist and his best registrant.

Wow! This is great! Not only could I imagine Christine and the Phantom on a boat in the Paris Opera basement the same way as in the musical, but your interpretation and registration were awesome. Good job, Gert!

Andrew Lloyd Webber's Phantom of the Opera was the first musical I saw on Broadway. I absolutely LOVED it! Thank you for this fantastic performance!
That was an amazing first for sure.
Da steckt eine immense Arbeit dahinter. Basis wird wohl die Ouvertüre von Lloyd Webber sein. Das Mystische und die Hoffnung kommen - auch dank der perfekten Registrierung - sehr gut zur Geltung. Das Ganze ist konzentriert auf gute 6 Minuten: Die Original-Ouvertüre dauert über 15 Minuten. Wieder eine gelungene Improvisation mit künstlerischen Spielraum. Vielen Dank fürs Aufschalten.
Klinkt geweldig Gert zelfs in zuid Spanje op mijn tablet met een matige wifi.

On est quelques-uns à envisager la venue de Gert van Hoef à Paris, sur un instrument digne de son talent. L'église Saint-Gervais et son magnifique orgue baroque ? Pourquoi pas, si ce n'est que Gert van Hoef, il faut non seulement l'entendre, mais aussi le voir jouer ! Or, seuls deux orgues à Paris le permettent, grâce à une console mobile installée dans la nef. Saint-Eustache semblant inaccessible, alors, la basilique Sainte-Clotilde, et son merveilleux instrument ? On va essayer de le proposer à M. Olivier Penin, le titulaire ; en tout état de cause, ce ne pourrait pas être avant 2018, le programme des auditions mensuelles (le deuxième samedi du mois) étant déjà établi sur un an. Il y a néanmoins un inconvénient : malgré la célébrité des grandes orgues de Sainte-Clotilde, quelques dizaines d'auditeurs seulement se déplacent pour ces auditions du samedi après-midi ; il ne faudrait pas que cela décourage Gert. Mais il est bien possible qu'il rêve depuis des années de pouvoir se confronter à cet instrument prestigieux !
Allons! Il reste encore à notre chère France quelques restes de son glorieux passé organistique, et il y a tout plein d'instruments aptes à faire rêver les organistes du monde entier.
Cela dit, ne vous focalisez pas sur la question de "pouvoir voir" Gert jouer ; pour ce faire, une caméra et un grand écran peuvent très bien faire l'affaire!
Vous avez sans doute raison, surtout que, semble-t-il, Gert van Hoef ne s'est pas encore confronté à un orgue Cavaillé-Coll. Il nous montre depuis maintenant huit ans que, en ce qui le concerne, la valeur de ses interprétations n'attend pas le nombre des claviers et des jeux ! Mais, avant qu'il se décide à venir jouer en France, il est probable qu'il coulera encore beaucoup d'eau dans les canaux hollandais...

You play the organ so good. Wish you could come to america and play at the cathedral of the Immacute Conception in Springfield Illinois in the United States . They had a new state of the pipe organ installed today.
France has better organs
they have older organs.
They had older and, for the most part, much better organs. BUT there are some really nice ones in the US rare, since the tracker fad brought about the modification or complete removal of amny of the good ones. Old Casavants, Welte, Moller Rueter are some exapmles.
Very nice! Not a single bit is the 'default' Phantom of the Opera, and every bit sounds beautiful and suprising :-)
