Hey Kevin, real enjoyable clip mate, nice mix.
I'm an old Diesel Fitter that did about 20 years of amature dirt speedway and backyard mechanical while raising 5 kids & about 10 years of supporting my 2 youngest boys in go-karts. So this kind of mix had me interested in watching the car that you bought out of cobwebs, and the trackside care that you have to do on race-day. Then race cam in-car gets me on the edge of my seat & Lee did not let the show down there- very smooth. Hanging out with friends at the track was & obviously still is very cool too.
YOU.. don't need any special production to create great content Kevin, you just need a camera on in your life.
    Cheers from sunny Queensland mate.

Love seeing you guys back out with a viper at the track again. Tyre pressures wise, we used to do a similar thing with the pressures on a saloon car cup championship entry at castle combe in the UK. One day I'd suggested we try running the tire pressures so that the they were all even half way through the race, instead of at the end (so psi at the start and end is exactly either side of the same midpoint on all 4 corners). Car ran quicker than ever and we won not only our class that we normally ran, but the class in front as well. Maybe enough to help Lee catch those Porsches next time!

I'll have to admit I prefer the roof-top camera to the in-car camera we've seen in the past. The higher angle gives a better look at the surrounding cars and the track. I was hoping to see the team at Road America this weekend, but with Lee's limited schedule this year, he may not plan to make two races on consecutive weekends. One other thing, I don't think you've ever mentioned why the red car was parked in favor of the black car. Anything you can share on that?

    • @KSRPerformanceFabrication

The red car hurt the engine at Road Atlanta. We had planned to make Road America, but Lee had something come up that is preventing the trip.

And you can thank a guy named George Simon for pioneering the concept of Money Making advertising on Motor Sports vehicles. He first put his company name, "U.S. Equipment Company" on his Unlimited Hydroplane "Miss U.S." in 1955 and fought the IRS when they would not allow him to deduct the cost of racing as an advertising expense. Finally, in 1963 Simon won his case with the IRS, that Unlimited racing was a legitimate business expense (within specified guidelines) and therefore tax deductible. On the strength of this ruling, Anheuser-Busch entered the sport in a big way in 1964 with the first in a long line of Miss Budweiser hydroplanes.
In 1962 George Simon's Rolls-Royce Merlin-powered Hydro with Roy Duby at the wheel, set a mile straightaway record for propeller-driven boats at 200.419 miles per hour. The record stood for 38 years.
