gotta give the late Jim Arness and Amanda Blake lots of credit. They kept America entertained with adult western stories for twenty years. Everyone knew the Marshall and Miss Kitty. Nobody didn't like Matt and Kitty rest in peace .
Kitty had style and grace and brought beauty to the dusty west tender hearted but still tough as nails to survive there . I wished they'd written exleast one kiss 💋 in the series for her and Matt. Great actors. And a good clean show for families to enjoy 💥💥

I’m older than dirt, and in all my years I never believed in heroes, for I never met nor or even heard of a man with a pure heart. The Good Book says Man’s ways are forever drawn toward evil, so even as a kid I never had any real heroes.
Except for Matt Dillon.
One day years ago, my wife met Arness (and his brother Peter Graves) in the Gelson’s Market in our town of Pacific Palisades, where Jim also lived. Boy, was I jealous that day! I worked with Dennis Weaver (“Chester”) on several film projects, but never had the pleasure... no... the thrill of meeting my one and only hero. Marshal Dillon.
My wife and I regularly watch the episodes on DVD. I like the black-and-white episodes better than color. They seem more dramatic. That the producers treated Matt and Miss Kitty’s relationship exactly the way they did was superb manipulation of our emotions. For nothing is as attractive as a good man who (at least pretends to be) hard to get, and a beautiful, independent lady who’s at bottom a one-guy-gal. I miss ‘em both.

I really truly honestly do love the gunsmoke episodes for the 20 yrs that it was on . It is a wonderful thing that the people who were in it were able to get along so very well . I felt badly when Matt would get shot . I can relate to how miss kitty felt each,every time for the fear of losing him . They had a very wonderful chemistry together . I really truly honestly do miss both of them . It's never ever the same when you lose someone close to you,that you care about . May they rest in peace . All of us fans miss you both very much . For we all loved you both .
Marshall Dillion has never feared a single man, he’s fast, keeps a good head and knows his ground. But when it come to the females, he’s respects them and shows restraint. He s turned it down over and over again. The romance between him and miss kitty is historic, that’s what made gunsmoke so good.

I purchased the series 2 months ago on dvd (20 seasons). Didn’t realize until I started watching them in sequence that they actually were a couple. You see them falling in love, progressing through a relationship, then the relationship deepens to where they become reflective. In one such reflective moment Kitty comments that in the beginning Matt indicated that his job did not leave room for him to have a permanent relationship. She then follows it up with “it was the longest non permanent relationship she had ever seen.” They were a couple, and interestingly enough you see throughout the seasons that most everyone knew it.
Well done! I have to admit, the nostalgia brought tears to my eyes! Just love these two! I had not heard the song before, and your clips fit perfectly. Thank you! Gonna share on my FB page as I recently sketched a photo of Miss Kitty in those early years... Folks love her.

Gun smoke miss kitty told a talk show that miss kitty character was a saloonkeeper plus s madam. I did not realize it but she told us that's what she was at the long brance. But I loved miss kitty felt so sad when they announced she had passed away. We all loved miss kitty

Born in 65, watching Gunsmoke in the late 60's to the end in 75 I couldn't understand why they always thought Miss Kitty was hot. Then I saw the first episode from 1955 and I realized why.

i've never thought matt and kitty weren't intimate, they just didn't flaunt it. their looks at each other weren't of the unresolved sexual tension type of looks. i think matt was just as in love with kitty as she was with him but being the marshall kept him from making that committment that she wanted. otoh, this was a very charming video.

Great video and song. I'm one of those who always thought Matt and Kitty had an intimate relationship, but they just kept it private. Many nights when he'd leave the Long Branch to do his 'rounds', he'd say, 'See ya later, Kitty'.

MATT should of married her!!!! or at lest shared more of a kiss then on the cheek.
Why did they never get marriage? Miss Kitty herself answered that question in the movie "Gunsmoke: Return to Dodge" (1987) that she didn't want to take the risk of loosing Mat forever due to the dangerous of his job as Marshall serving the rough town of Doge city.

Loved it. 30 years? The show lasted 20. Counting the TV movies perhaps? Matt's 1st kiss was with another women and he supposedly had amnesia. How convenient. Well he was shot off the horse a lot so very plausible? Best adult TV show western ever.
I've been watching Gunsmoke daily for a year or two...As a child, I complained to my Dad that matt dillon always used too much violence. So I've done a bit of a straw poll count and Matt kills on average 3 guys each 1 HR show...He has also been shot himself quite often: 80+ times in the shoulder/arm...20+ gut shot...a half dozen times back shot...4 or 5 times shot w multiple rounds...One time he took 4 bullets and we all thought he'd die...LOL

Even though we never saw them kiss, we have to assume that those two had a decades, long love affair. The affection and respect they show to each other is rarely seen these days. We should assume that they had a very long love affair, but Matt would never marry her because of his job. Am I wrong?

AS I have watched every Episode of GunSmoke, more times than I can count on my hands. I have not run across this song. Burt Reynolds and Dennis Weaver, with so many other great stars Heros AND the Villains made Gunsmoke a great show to watch.. I still can't make my 45 six gun GO - Pow Ho, 💥 like at the beginning of the show. But hey With James Arness it's all Law and Order.👍🏼
Classic tension on a TV show. We wanted them to kiss but at the same time we didn't because the show would've jumped the shark. There's a reason it lasted 20 seasons!
Sadly, Amanda Blake (Kitty) died at only age 60. Her 4th husband who was on the Austin TX City Council was openly bisexual and she died of AIDS-related hepatitis. Lovely woman. Great actress.

Amanda Blake's last season on Gunsmoke happened in 74..
long before she married tha man she contracted AIDS from. Amanda reportedly left 1 season before the show ended because she grew tired of the costume changes and corsets combined with the rigorous shooting schedule. She also was still recovering from the loss of her dear friend Glenn Strange who played Sam the bartender. He died in '73.
I grabbed my shorts a many a time a watchin' Miss Kitty. Boy, what memories.
