You all give so much to your viewers, it's nice to see them notice that; and bring you things they know you will enjoy. That WWI uniform, in pristine condition, was a true gift! It's sad that her family wasn't interested in it, but I'm so happy it didn't end up in a landfill, like I'm sure many have gone to.
I worry my Dad’s WWII Navy uniform will end up in a landfill 😢. It’s in my cedar chest but I’ve no one to leave it to. My one child could care less about it. Oh Andrew is right, the uniform is tiny. Of course he was only 17.
Check with your local library or history museums. They may be adding to their collections. Especially if there is a local connection and area stories. Some re-enactors groups are collectors.
@@MystyGirlVa Yes! Paula, I hope, will do a little research (re: your suggestion) because I'm sure someone would LOVE to have this treasure and would really appreciate it. To that person (or group), it would be a great gift. No landfills--my sincere wish.
I think it was incredibly rude that you weren't invited to the Ohio Meet & Greet. I am not going to ask why, it's none of my business, but it certainly makes me look at some other resellers differently, I'll just say that. Your meet & greet looked like a lot more fun & it's obvious how much your viewers love you. They show it with their generosity. I wish I didn't live so far away, I would have loved to come & say hello! Thank you for all you do. I've said it before & I'll say it again, your time is recognized & appreciated! 🥰😘
I love to pass on heirlooms to people that enjoy them. I have been doing that lately. I don't think that there could have been anyone more appreciative of that WW1 uniform than Andrew. What a thoughtful gift.
Your videos are always such a delightful part of my day! Laurel is absolutely precious! The love and respect you show your children is certainly reflected in their pleasant, happy demeanors. That’s exactly why you have such a dedicated group of followers! Thank you both! 🥰

So happy that you included the meet and greet footage. As others have commented, I got emotional seeing the queue waiting for you. You have no idea how much you and other TH-camrs accompanied me in those first dark days of the pandemic. Now I am addicted to y'all! Thank you for you and Dagny's videos 😍❤️😍❤️😍❤️😍

You've come a long way and we've traveled along with you, the kids then Andrew and now little Laurel will be part of the videos along with your amazing friends! You went for it and did it! Congratulations!
I wonder if a lot of uniforms were small because they were so young. Made me cry seeing how much Andrew appreciated it. It’s like he knows someone’s loved one wore it. ❤️

That WWI uniform is such a fantastic gift! What a treasure! Andrew is the perfect person to appreciate it. Thanks for sharing the Meet and Greet. So many lovely people and so generous. The shopping was fun too! Pretties, pretties, everywhere! I appreciate you sharing so much of your knowledge with us along with your business and family life. Well done.

I enjoyed watching the meet and greet.. first precious little Laurel who now looks like her sister and brother, I used to see Andrew in her, but I see a lot of her siblings in her in this video. What a doll baby she is, so pleasant she is, your a good mama and daddy Also Andrew touched my heart watching him handle the uniform, such love and respect he showed. So glad he was gifted it. The meet and greet was awesome the footage Cindy did was awesome and the people and their stories was so great way better than a history class for sure! Laurel is growing up so beautifully!
This was the meet and greet to be at. It wasn’t about the content creators but rather those that show their appreciation everyday for CLL & FPT. Not a one sided, intentionally non inclusive event. In my eyes it’s more authentic. Something I’ve decided that is a criteria for what I choose when spending time and money. Looking at the uniforms and the sizes I couldn’t help but think that one of the reasons they were so small was because those that wore them were just boys. That really makes you pause to truly consider what those boys were tasked to do. And speaking of genuine, Andrews face as he appreciated them. I wasn’t disappointed at the meet and greet I attended even if it wasn’t in person. It was much more personal and genuine not to mention the lovely company of 250 thousand subscribers that must feel similarly. (See what I did there? 😊)
I’m always anxious leading up to the meet and greet events, but this was so nice and low-key. And I really enjoyed having the opportunity to chat with people and hear their stories. I’m thankful that Cindy was able to capture footage to share with everyone. She actually got about forty minutes of footage. I may edit a longer version and release a full length video. 😓 And yes, Andrew LOVED the uniform. I wish I had captured his initial reaction. He was wowed.

01:01 Yep. We had those canisters at home when I was a boy in the 60s. Postwar manufacture, when aluminium ANYthing was all the go. 04:00 There's a fairy light in the back. Custard glass or similar. 04:55 It's absolutely an ice bucket, and may well be missing a lid. 08:10 It's as much Tonalá as the day is long. 15:33 awRIGHT!!! NOW we know where the crows have been selling them all! 21:31 The WWI uniform is effing GORGEOUS!! And it's even got a victory ribbon and service sleeve stripes (18 months, IIRC). Do you know the provenance to go with it? 21:58 People before WWII _were_ tiny relative to us, because they didn't have access to our abundant nutrition. Human size takes a hockey-stick curve after the war, because we had SO MUCH MORE available food to eat. At 5' 11" and 232 pounds (180 cm/105 kg), I would be seen as bordering on a giant. 22:44 Yeah, dude! Those are leather gaiters, which would cover the gap between the bottom of yer uniform trousers and yer boots. 23:12 Those are the puttees (the word comes from Hindi, and means "bandage.") You wrap 'em over your stockings, and they took the place of gaiters. 24:59 In French, he's called "Saint Roch" (soft _ch_ ), and "Saint Rock" in English. Supposedly he's French from the late 1300s, but his legend is FULL of impossibilities and improbabilities. Everything anyone thinks they know about him is probably wrong. He's traditionally the patron saint of invalids, so your man's attribution to his father's prayers makes sense.
Love this video and it was such a pleasure to meet you in Columbia. We had such a wonderful trip picking in Pennsylvania. Thanks for the list of favorites. We found lots of treasures 😀!

What a treat. Everyone loves you, Andrew, and Dagny. Me too!!! Hugs all around and baby kisses for Laurel. Take care!
