thats one hell of a job Neil big pat on the back
Cheers.
Love the strut brace to prevent the rusty, broken, sill-free body flexing. What priorities!
That is a monster job.
Living in new zealand haS many benefits, when it rains it poors so more rain but in only 1/3 number of days, snow falls mainly jn the south island and only grid is used on the roads, unfortunately older cars like this alfa generally end up at being sold to pickapart type wrecking yard for 150 pounds, with not a spec of structural rust in sight as we also have a very ridget mot system that reject even light surfzce rust before it gets too bad rejected rust problems "have to be repaired by a qualified panelbeater, not your local bog artist
Strut brace, and no cills - very fur coat and no knickers :-)
A bit of me fancies an Alfa estate, but the sensible me bought a Pug 306 estate from 2000, fun to drive and not a bit like that underneath!
nice,
Surely just buying another one would be a lot cheaper than this! Nice work as usual mate.
This has. Hight upgraded 3.2 engine in it plus lots of other mods.
Loved my 2005 Alfa 156 but failed to get beyond 9k miles before first breakdown.
oh dear,
Blimey tin worm had got the best of that Neil
sure did
I would be very happy if you answer.I am a 2005 model 1.6 TS 156 user.Engine renewed thermostat and water circulation were replaced with original parts. But the temperature still exceeds 90 degrees (The line between 90 and 130) It gets close to 110 degrees when stuck in traffic or going uphill. When the road gets better, it drops to 90 degrees again. Do you think this is normal?
Could the engine be damaged due to these temperatures (95-110)? (did not lose any water)
If it's overheating in traffic but not at speed it's likely your radiator fans aren't coming on. Could be the fan meotor is nongood, or could be the reisiter?
@@slippinjimmy2149 Thank you for your answer but the fan is spinning. The outside temperature where I live is 45 degrees Celsius
The system has probably just clogged up a bit over time. New radiator and thermostat along with a good flush should fix the problem if the fans is working ok.
Plug it to the computer and somewhere there is the real temperature. I'd start with that, because 156's gauges are not 100% acurate
Why do people even bother with Italian cars? Absolute rot boxes plagued with mechanical and electrical issues. Nothing changes other than your current Fiat might last twice as long as the 6 years max that your 127/128/131/132 would have. French cars no better nor BMW trash and their atrocious timing chain destroying Minis (Citroen engines).
AHAHAHAHHAAHHAH go drive your fantastic Golf dieselgate and remember to check for leaks ahah
this wasnt really down to the car it was years of bad welding.
@@ItaliaAutosThey were much better from the 90s until the rubberised underseal ages and lets water underneath where it secretly attacks the sill areas etc. Plus modem paint on suspension components etc. is hopeless and just doesn’t protect… but not just on Italian cars.
First time ive heard you swear! Still watching it...hope it doesnt fall and crush you
yep it is the first.
Absolutely brilliant video neil❤👍 cant wait to see the build on the next one brilliant
Thanks 👍
Looking forward to seeing the finished product!
me to its bee a hard week.
Are you gonna replace the engine in the donor car, if so why, or just gonna save it?
high modified engine so all being swapped over.
@@ItaliaAutos Ah, I see.
big job. that 156 was gone too far.
huge job
You’re 12 odd hours ahead Neil. Monday when still we’re on Sunday. Are you in Auckland today. Quick garage move. Guess 6.5 days ago filmed !!!! Lol.
Yes been at a week now and still not finished
I’m a bit confused as to which is the “donor car”…
It's all very confusing. All the parts that came of the first car are going into the 2nd car.
@@ItaliaAutos Yes, thought so therefore the “good car” (i.e. new one) is technically the donor because it’s saving the dying one !
مرحبا انا من العراق لدية الفاراميو ١٦٤ كيف احصل علي مواد احتياطية
A rusty Alfa?! How so very odd!
That's a great job Neil, and you make it look relatively easy......not one for the average home mechanic, though!
Definitely not an easy one.
Just cant believe the floor repairs!! love the "F moment" !
You and me both!
That panel underneath looks like someone's took a piece off a fridge freezer and glues it on. The worst panel I have ever seen
Yeah it's rather dodgy
Nice work. Didn't realise it came out so neatly once you have access.
It does! or do i make it look easy lol
Who is The Porsche in the background
Mine. Video series on repairing it in my videos.
these 156 cars belong to the scrapjard
no durability
A safety helmet maybe😎😎
yep.lol
@@ItaliaAutos that floorpan ‘repair’ was a deathtrap. Unbeliveable
🙄🙄
When the entire car becomes a crumple zone. 😂
ill test that out in the next episode.
so much work ughhh
Loads and loads
