Great footage! I just showed it to my dad who is most likely the last standing employee of the L&PS. He’s 92 and the four summers he spent as a Trainman were his highlight. (Sir Adam Beck was soooo way ahead of the curve.)
The Port Stanley Terminal Rail I believe (people may correct me if I'm wrong) has the only rail going out of the town. The portion north from St. Thomas is still owned by CN.
@@transittoronto You said to correct you, so I will. Ontario Southland Railway also comes into St. Thomas via the CP St. Thomas Sub. CP leases it to OSR. CN still operates the former L&PS track from London to St. Thomas and Port Stanley Terminal Rail operates it from St. Thomas to Port Stanley. However there is about 2,250 feet of track right through the heart of town that was removed by CN in the late 80's, so the PSTR is now landlocked. There is an ongoing effort to have the connection reestablished.
Car 14 (at 6:50) is currently being restored inside at the Elgin County Railway Museum in St. Thomas
Fantastic video, thank you!

Thank you for the kind words! We're pleased we could get this footage in front of your father.
Where exactly was the passenger station(s) in London ? thanks
Rob Sterne, can you put some locations according the time?
But isn't London and Port Stanley still connect by rail? CN/CP if not passenger rail?

I thought I was getting something wrong. Many thanks for the correction. Here's hoping that connection gets reestablished.
>Did you know that London and Port Stanley were connected by Rail?
I mean ... they still are.
