They should trade options at extended hours just like stocks, on active large cap stocks, or at least the Megacaps. In fact official the regular hours for the whole market should start at 8:00 AM

SPX options are cash settled stock options are not , so I doubt AAPL TSLA will be as popular if they go zero day (there is no assignemnt on SPX)

0day SPX keep their value almost until 10 minutes to go, which means if you are clever you can sell a max risk defined credit spread and collect a nice income in the last hour,or less. If you know how to time it using momentum you can make 1000s of dollar in just a few minutes because selling them they decay very fast into the close.

Most of the times spx options have little to no value nearing the close of the day. However, you are correct, good timing makes a big difference.

yes you can adjust your tarde , nonsense. If you know what you are doing it's actually easy, I sell SPX zero day credit spread and butteflies into the close , and they expire worthless , You can risk 100 dollars to make 900 using only 1 contract on a butterfly spread
