Yes, getting a new student during a test is always a challenge for me too. At the beginning of the school year I was going to make a new student packet, but never got around to it. I think this will be something I do during the Thanksgiving break.
This video made me smile! What you did in the transformation room is just sheer perfection! I am definitely old school because I have never heard of Gaga ball! The kid has got an arm if they were able to get their shoe up that high! How you are handling everything is #goals! I needed a good laugh after the time I have been having!

I'm sure it was an amazing experience in the transformation room; I can really see how that space would encourage and inspire students in their learning. The recess story you shared was funny. I have had students take their shoes off, but they've never gotten them stuck in a tree. I loved the video clips from The Office, of course, but I especially cracked up at the Dwight clip about the snake. Thank you for always sprinkling these clips in at the most appropriate and hilarious times. You remind me of a lot of the parts of the show that I had forgotten. I hope you had an amazing birthday! 💜

Can't remember what you do this year for birthdays if anything. Give student about me slides (since they make them for your golden Emerson)

So Michelle, I do have a question, how are you able to do things like the themed room with question task cards, if you are doing Eureka? Were they Eureka based questions? Or do you just have extra time in your pacing to do things that are unique to what you are learning.. thank you! Been a fan since the beginning of my teaching career! I'm on year 12 now!!

michelle i have a question. my nieces school also uses eureka math. it took them the entire first 9 weeks to finish module 1 now shes in 1st grade not 4th but to me that seems a long time to complete one unit of math. keep in mind our school only goes 4 days a week and they only have math 2 of those days. they switch classes but spend the entire day with one teacher. they have ela on tu/th and math on wens/fri. is it crazy they took that long to finish module 1
@@lindsayandrews4081 I'm not that worried about my niece there's nothing in the math that she doesn't already know. She can do some skills well above her grade level and honestly no one teaches her. She figured out negative number from sitting beside an older student doing their math homework on the bus the other day. Me and her where doing her math homework the other day and I reminded her to subtract with the higher number first cause (least in first grade) the other way doesnt work. Lol she corrected me she said no it be negative 2 the problem was if written backs 6-8 which is negative 2

If they only do math twice a week that’s not that long is it? Especially in 1st grade where they are learning those foundational skills!

Hi! I’m a first grade teacher and we used to use Eureka for math. The first module in Eureka is 39 lessons long so it would take us a long time too.
I have a question what is the font name of the font you use for the conference sheet it’s like a chunky cursive font I would love if u tell me.
