    Great stuff, as always, bro. It's so weird you did this vid. I almost bought this bass two weeks ago. It is a beautiful bass I was torn between the yamaha and the sire m5/7 series. I ended up going with the sire m7 because of the ability to coil tap and all the variations. Had yamaha offered that option on this bass I definitely would have bought it. The sire plays and sounds amazing, though if you ever get a chance to check one out, give it a whirl. I would love to try this, yamaha. I definitely still want to pick up a bb434 or 435, too. I have been wanting one ever since I saw the review you did . Thanks for the content, bro 🙏

      Thanks for coming by again! Congrats on the M7....I owned one when they first came out, swapped it out for what was going on in my life back then, and continually debate with myself to get another one.....

    Awesome review 😎🤘🏻🎸 I’m a huge Yamaha fan and this bass sounds phenomenal. I own 2 Yamaha basses(1 bb and 1 trbx) and I’ve been thinking about purchasing a trbx605fm in a dark red burst finish. My other choice would definitely be a bb435

      @@Rib13BassUPDATE : My tech set it up, finally got it yesterday, after only 15 minutes I felt comfortable with it, I stayed up basically all night getting to know it, it’s AMAZING, the sound feel quality of the build is second to none, I played it this morning at my church, I’m selling off my JB Ultra and getting a Yamaha BBP 35, I can’t believe I slept on Yamaha all of these years.

    Had a very similar experience of bts with this bass. Was awesome at home and then live I felt like it was dull and didn't cut a path through the mix.

      @@Rib13Bass What do you think of the brands Spector, Schecter, and ESP LTD?

    • @Rib13Bass
      @Rib13Bass  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @sinakaedwards2009 I have two Schecters, a CV4 and an Omen Elite 5: both are well made instruments and wonderfully versatile....I have little hands on experience with ESP but always hear good things....Spector basses have been hit or miss with me historically: if it misses with me, it's a hard miss, but if I like it, it's a home run

      @@Rib13Bass How do the Schecter's necks feel? I pretty much feel like everything is one of two categories. Gibson like or Fender like. I may be wrong but it seems like Fender has a thinner neck than gibson. Ibanez has a whole different level of thin. gibson is like a bat handle and fender is like a sword handle. My experience is based on Epiphone and Squire so that could influence my opinion.
      I am looking at a schecter SLS Elite 4 or 5. I like the idea of a longer scale, however the width of the neck and extra string is a little much. I can string it like a low 4 of a 5 string BEAD style. Spector makes a multi scale but is expensive. Ibanez has a Multi scale coming as well. All three has Fishman Fluence pickups. The Schecter comes with Stainless Steel frets and roman numeral inlays. I am not a fan of Ibanez necks and the ones I have owend in the past had dead spots.
      So I am leaning heavy into the Schecter SLS Elite. Wondering if you have any opinions on Fishman Fluence pickups or Stainless steel frets. I am not looking to be a bassist for hire, rather looking to create my own music. I state that because the tone and versatility is not that important to me. I have a very aggressive play style, it can clip a board if it doesn't have headroom. Thunderplucking.

    Very nice review and well made video! You need more followers so I subscribed immediately. :-)
    I'm looking for a 5-string to replace my Spector Legend 5 that I have two major issues with. First, I much prefer 4-strings, so having a bass with both longer scale length and narrower string spacing just for those extra notes I occasionally need just makes for a non-comfortable switch between basses. Plus there are a few other details I don't particularly like, like the lack of a passive mode.
    I think this bass looks like a very good option. I'm also looking for a bass that can offer some stingray-like tones, why I'm looking at a bass with a bridge humbucker. The dream for me would be a bass with a MM-style humbucker + P pickup, but those seem to be an extremely rare breed.

    Bought one a couple of years ago but sent it back.
    To me it felt like it’s just about looks and upon closer inspection to me it seemed cheap.
    Also what was the biggest reason I sent it back was it lacked body and a real organic sound, which is what is important in the real players world. It just sounded weak and the B-string was flimsy and just not working for me.
    Of course this is my personal opinion and maybe I’m having too high demands but before you buy it be sure to play it in a ‘not bedroom situation’.

    I used to own a TRB1005 Korean made. It was really demanfing to gear - different gear = different sound all the time.

    I agree, gorgeous, comfortable, tones subjective but for me it's a little bland and doesn't cut through enough.
    One thing that drives me crazy that happens with mine (might just be mine) but when my thumb rests on the pickups, the pickup is very sensitive to my thumb movements and amplifies the noise of my thumb movements if that makes sense? Could be the exposed pole pieces, I have to be careful when pick playing too as the tapping gets picked up and it's noticeable if I hit the pickups

    • @Rib13Bass
      @Rib13Bass  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I don't have that pickup contact issue with my bass. Thanks for the comment and swinging by

    • @Rib13Bass
      @Rib13Bass  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Wellll...... I may be the wrong person to ask because, of all the TRBX series basses, the 300/305 series are my favorite sounding for my personal tastes ..... I don't care for the 5 way preset selector but I played a 305 before at a gig and it had all the punch and clarity pizazz that I felt was missing from the 605, and they are half the price!.....but thats just me so you may want other opinions
