This incredible ease with which she can reach the highest notes... I can't think of anyone that even comes close. Certainly one of the most beautiful soprano voices of all time.
There are people with easier access to even higher notes than her, but when talking about both the technique and the timbre then no one comes close to her. Her timbre is priceless, the most beautiful timbre among all Color Sop
Fantastic agility and purity, the vocal lines are seamless, and the voice never shrill or overtaxed! Amazing soprano, this aria sounds really hard for most sopranos, but not for her.
This is the only number omitted from the otherwise complete Konstanze that Schwarzkopf recorded in 1944, and when one listens to this Hallstein rendition one can see why. Even in her early leggero days, Schwarzkopf boasted neither the ease nor the fluency with which Hallstein negotiates the stratospheric fioritura in this item. Her timbre is youthful and attractive, her phrasing musical, and the overall effect is of a master vocalist delighting in her own abilities, which is as it should be. Mozart himself admitted that he sacrificed the sentiment of this aria to the 'geläufige Gurgel' (well-known throat) of Mlle Cavalieri, the creatrix of the role, so we should not be surprised that the agile divisions and sunny B flat major bespeak little of loneliness and desolation. Actually, the composer can hardly be blamed for trying to deflect attention from the libretto's inadequacy: 'Kummer ruht in meinem Schoss' (Sorrow dwells in my lap) is a particularly crass remark from a woman lamenting the absence of her fiancé!
@@NLidar The only Mozart aria I can think of that rivals this one in audacity is Dal tuo gentil sembiante from Ascanio in Alba, which is coincidentally in the same key. Actually, now that I think of it, it is also the same key for Come scoglio, Ah se il crudel periglio from Lucio Silla, Parto parto from Titus and the Queen of Night's Act I aria. B flat major seems to have been Mozart's 'go-to' key for coloratura fireworks!
What happened there? If you’d rather not have it in writing I understand but all of sudden he was gone! Had some great posts, none to rival you but all very good!
Unbelievable! How is it possible for a human being to sound like this? It's impossible to explain. I can only stay in awe, and enjoy it... And she was SICK!!!! Oh my goodness...
@@hadikheradmandpour7394 An incredible question that I don't think will ever be answered.. Her talent is absolutely jaw dropping, and the fact that as a lyric coloratura she has substance and interpretational skills, makes it even better..
Total agreement! and what makes me respect her more is the simple truth that she obviously knew herself. Her repertoire is so unknown to me, but as far as I know, she never sang dramatics. Am I right?
@@hadikheradmandpour7394 Yes you are very right (sorry for the late reply). The only dramatic role she sang was this one (Konstanze) and it is a Dramatic coloratura
This is feels like I, mistakenly discovered on internet the originial version by Sibelius himself on his own Andante Festivo Geniune goosebumps appreciated pal
Braaavo she is a wonderful Kolaratursopranistin braavoo she can the leichtes Fach und das schwere sie hate einfach einen Talent vom Lieben Gott bekommen
Obviously not the ones who make a world career are the best. During her best years travelling everywhere was not so common as it is nowadays. She and Fritz Wunderlich are gems not so widely known as they were in their homeland.
I have always been a big fan of her. But operatic trained people, understand that she is singing this with many "style errors". Nonetheless, what a glorious voice. She has a massive break on her high C into her upper register that makes it difficult for her to sing on that break without a breath or legato. but again, what a voice!!!! Love her!
@feeniix6 I've wondered why her career wasn't bigger because Hallstein was VERY much praised throughout her career (more underutilized than underrated). Also keep in mind though that this was the same time frame Callas was making musical world history.
@@NLidar Hmm I know Callas' main career was over going from the mid 60's into the 70's but I'm not sure during what time that Hallstein started switching gears towards teaching. In any case the caliber of musicianship (intonation, precision, I could go on) that Hallstein brought to the table with her voice was nothing short of phenomenal.
@@Itschriscruz Her voice was pure crystalline. And to find such a relatively small voice that is equipped with musical intelligence, stylistic instincts and so on is extremely rare. I'm forever grateful that we have recordings of her wonderful voice.
Would anyone like me to post the studio version in the future?
Please do.
yesss Id love to seee also popoli di tessagliaaaa the original recording

Along with Karola Agay.

This aria is severely tame compared to many I have heard her sing. Flawless doesn't even touch her performance. She is sheer brilliance in human form!
I had to sign back in to comment, what an absolutely gorgeous creature this woman is.
I have listened to hundreds of hours of this voice. She makes me cry happy tears.
you never cry alone 🙏
Me tooooo
Me too, every single day at least one listening to Hallstein. It is like a therapy.
It's because of her that I can varely listen to the singers nowadays. She set the bar so high
Superb. I have never heard a better rendition-never. Thank you so much for sharing this beauty with the rest of us.🙏🏼
OMG! If we had the likes of her today......
I agree 100% Such voice control! She breezes through these high notes! BRAVA Ingeborg🎉❤❤
Fantastic...so crystal clear. What a blessing to have been given such a voice. Thank you so much for sharing this gem 🌸🌹🌸🌹

Was anything hard for her? A vocal stream of water - endlessly and effortlessly flowing with serene beauty.

I absolutely agree! Her singing is gorgeous!
Indeed she was one of the greatest coloraturas ever

How was she even a real person? This is mindblowingly good.
She still is!
so exquisite. great control of her amazing instrument. truly one of the greatest acuto of all.
Well said!
Effective technique with a beautiful to match.
i love your dramatic but also accurate titles
Thank you :)

Gosh! I cannot talk about weather as easy as she sings one of the most horrifyingly difficult arias!!!
Spot on..! 24 C6 and 14 D6 in one aria, and all the coloratura madness that follows.. Easy as drinking water for her, but as was everything

Am I imagining the pitch and breath issues?
Natalie dessay could never 😍
I sing this aria exactly like this and better... when Im not singing Boris Godunov I sing Kostanze
Amazing! Only Vera Galupe-Borzhk could do the same.
Wunderschön gesungen, aber Erna Berger hat's für mich noch besser gesungen
So underrated
