    you're not missing videos. You're taking a maternity leave. On a leave, you're not missing work, you don't have to do work right now. And I'm grateful for you to experience this with your beautiful family. Take your time, and share only what you feel the desire to share. We love you, and we'll be here no matter how much time off you take and how often you decide to upload

    You are actually a superwoman!!! Carrying 3 babies, working on the remodel of your house, cleaning up after family, taking care of 2 toddlers, recovering from a c-section, and doing the laundry for 5 !!! Holy smokes Delilah you inspire me everyday to keep going no joke so thank you for being you and just know your efforts do not go unnoticed!! ( can’t forget to thank Zach for being a good husband and helping you out).

    When you can make sure to massage your scar. It helps keep the scar tissue loose and i think it helped me with the numb feeling and reconnecting those nerves. The numb feeling is completely gone for me( it's been 3 years since my c section).

      This is so interesting! My scar is almost 5 years old, I wish I'd been told this when I had my baby. I imagine it's too late to start doing this?!

      @@naomidixon4640 I don't know. I had a bad scar on my wrist from having surgery after a bad fracture three years before I gave birth. After giving birth via c-section I started massaging my belly scar because my midwife told me to, and while I was at it, I also used some oil to massage my wrist scar hoping for the best :-). Turns out it felt a lot less tense and started to go down a bit. It reacted more slowly than my fresh c-section scar, but it lost its angry red and is overall flatter, so I am happy.

    My daughter was born at 37 weeks ( I was induced) and she was 5 lbs. Within two months she was pretty much caught up and off the preemie growth chart. Obviously it depends on what sort of complications you were dealing with, but kids are very resilient, and don’t be surprised if he catches up quickly!

    My first comment on your channel Delilah :-) First, huge congratulations for your gorgeous newborn William - he is totally adorable. I first started watching you due to some searching on re-do and re-model things, then got interested in all that you and your family are...so filled with grace and peace, and it's a joy to watch. I've never had a c-section, but needed a total hysterectomy long ago now in my mid to late 30's, and boy, do I remember the aftermath! Two friends visiting in hospital and making me chuckle...yep, that hurt! I was still walking gingerly a month later, so you are doing fantastic. Although my surgery was more 'hefty' than a section, I so empathise with all that comes afterwards. Even those simple things like bowel stuff - oh my! Your scar looks excellent though, it's very neat and clean. Throughout after my surgery I bathed and used lotion, but the numbness stayed for a long long time, but one day soon you will back to where you were. Each day is a new day, where a little more seems achievable, and along with God's grace and your own you'll get there - best wishes to you all...Wendy (across the pond in England!)

    I had a relatively similar experience with my 3rd, just like you. Recovering from a C-section is definitely no joke. My previous 2 were also fast, natural births with no complications, so this 3rd time around was very hard for me as well. My little one also went to the NICU for a couple of hours (I was led to believe that she would stay there longer) and I was crying over that in the recovery room. Thankfully things are looking better and taking it one day at a time.

    Hey,
    I remember you mentioned in your previous video that you are still taking your pain killers. I strongly encourage you to speak to your doctor or pharmacist about it’s side effects. I had a C-Section 9 months ago and I found out a month postpartum that the pain killers they gave me made my baby very sleepy. He was similar to your child where he would only be awake to feed. I stopped taking the pain killers right away and he was much more awake and alert. Just something I thought I should share.

    I know this comments sucks but excersising again when you can helps. I thought for the longest time I got nerve damage after my c section, but when baby was about 4 months, I started excersising and 10 months post partum the numb feeling went away! I was so happy, because I felt very disconnected from my body up until then and I kinda didn't want to touch my tummy at all because of the numbness. It's been little over 3 years since my c section now and some days I still feel a little numb-sensitive (for a lack of a better word) but not nearly as much as I did.

    I had 1 natural delivery with significant tearing which caused a need for 3 c sections for the next 3 children. The recovery time and pain for c sections are next level from natural births so take it easy. In saying that some of mine were worse than others. I had to have iron infusions either prior or after each one too. My numbness has lessened over the last 4 years since my last one but not completely gone.

    For the numbness in that area, I’ve had my c-section for 8 years. And it hasn’t fully gone away sadly. But I have notice that Renew lotion seems to help. As well as softly massaging the area. But I’ve never been able to wear low cut pants since it rubs horrible on that spot. So high rise stuff is my go to.
    I just found your channel and I’m loving it. :)
    Oh! And my c-section was due to a back surgery I had. But my doctors told me it’s pretty similar. I’m pregnant now and might have to get another one. So I love hearing about this to see if it’s the same as I had gone through before. :)

      Can I ask you why your back surgery made you have a csection? I’m 10w pregnant and have had a lumbar spinal fusion, I was told I might not be able to have an epidural because of it so I think I’ll end up having a csection because I cannot do it w/out pain meds.

      @KaylaReall 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@malexis419 of course! I also have a fusion on L5S1. They did my first back surgery going through my back. But for my fusion, they had this new procedure that was a bit less intrusive I guess. (I was 17 when I got these surgeries, so I didn’t totally understand everything.)
      I’m 23 weeks now and I still haven’t gotten an answer about the epidural. I had one doctor tell me they could possibly do it a bit higher, but I would have to ask when I’m in labor…
      I totally understand the feeling. I’m terrified to not have the epidural as an option. At my next appointment I’m gonna ask again since it’s a different doctor to see if I can at least find someone who can answer my question.

    I got induced on the 8th July at 37 weeks with my son. After 2 days of pessary insertion and my babies heartbeat kept decreasing after every pessary. They finally agreed on a c-section on the 10th July. At 10:33am, my first baby was born, my baby boy. Within 24 hours I was released from hospital to continue my recovery on my own. I cannot agree enough that the first 24-48 hours are brutal and painful but its worth it when you see your babies face. I am now 11 days post op and I can't sleep on my side due to the pain and I am still having to take pain medication due to blisters and the incision. C-section is difficult and wouldn't have been my first choice.

    I love your videos, William is adorable, and he will thrive now that he has started to do so. My premie was such a good sleeper once she got going, and slept through the night from the get go. She still loves her bed as a grown up!. Enjoy every moment, take your time, and take as much space as you need. Love and blessings to all your family. XXX

    Human milk contains lactose, as all mammals' milk does! Usually if baby is sensitive to milk that mama is consuming, it is a sensitivity to the protein, not the lactose. I learned this when I had to go dairy free because one of my twins developed eczema around 4 months from my consumption of dairy. Lactose intolerance in babies is actually extremely rare

    How do I watch these vlogs? Like the one mentioned in the video here "First 48 hours with a newborn." I don't see that on your channel or video list anywhere. I see a "Our NICU Stay" but not that specific one. Going back and watching your videos from the very beginning, I noticed that a lot too, that vlogs were mentioned that I could never find. I'm not the best at TH-cam :P How do I find them?

    I had my first last year and just now started limiting some portion sizes etc. I promised myself a year to not even think about that stuff because baby + milk supply were the most important thing. So glad I did that - it saved me a lot of stress. And weight is coming off now and everyone is happy. 💕

    It just blows my mind how so many women in my country choose to have a c-section instead of a vaginal delivery, with how difficult recovering from a c-section (a freaking surgery!!!) is. I had actual nightmares with me having to have a c-section, but thank God, everything was ok and I had a vaginal delivery. C-sections are no walk in the park, quite the opposite.

    Your sweet little guy might have a milk protein intolerance! It is very, very rare for a baby to be lactose intolerant or sensitive, because there is actually more naturally occurring lactose in breast milk than in dairy. The milk protein in dairy products is typically what babies react to, and what causes the gassiness and watery stools. Saying this only out of a place of love, because both of my breastfed girls had milk protein intolerances that were helped by me cutting dairy out of my diet. 🤍

    • @olawozniak5813
      @olawozniak5813 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      true. Your milk contains lactose whether you consume dairy or not. Lactose is what gives milk the sweet taste. So cutting dairy out of your diet is useless if the baby is lactose sensitive. But if he's allergic, going 100% dairy-free will help the baby.

    • @LoeppkysLife
      @LoeppkysLife  3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Interesting! The NICU nurses were calling it a possible lactose sensitivity so that’s what went off of

    • @XxEvilTiggerxX
      @XxEvilTiggerxX 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I was lactose intolerant as a child and couldn't have my mum's breast milk at all, dairy or not. They had to switch to soya formula, which in the 90s in France was pretty scarce and you could only get expensive little pots of it at the pharmacy. Glad we've moved on from that!

      I’ve been following since Eloise was a baby and I remember you went off dairy for her. Maybe because Will is an Eloise twin they might have similar sensitivities?

    • @martaszymanska8191
      @martaszymanska8191 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A baby can be a little sensitive to lactose (but its something compleately different from lactose intolerance) , mine was and had green and foamy stool, also 'exploading' stool that kinda shot out... what mom eats does not matter. It for a away usually in a few first weeks. It is due to babys digestive system not being mature enough at birth combien with mom having milk overflow. Baby is getting more lactosr than it can digest and has gas, bloating, weird poop. What helps is expressing some milk before feeding, because milk is more watery and more sweet at first (sweet with milk sugar- lactose), and more dense with fat and protein towards the end. And if you notice baby is feeling worse after you have dairy it is a whole different case. It could be an allergy to cows milk protein. It van be one or the other it both. But lactose intolerance is very very rare in infants and when it happens baby can not be breastfed at all.
