I liked the beginning of the video. I can’t remember how many times I’ve heard an old Detroit screaming way off in the distance and instantly recognized what it was! Bout the only diesel that you can positively identify long before you can see it.
Took me rite back to the 90's when my brother pulled a lowboy with a 8v71 with a 5 and a 4 and would pick me up after school for a ride along. I used to eat that up. I was pissed the day they upgraded to a newer truck with a cummins. Took all the cool out of it. Thanks for the ride.
Great Video it nice to see someone that can drive a DD 2 stroke as it was meant to be driven no clutch. It no V12 but sounds great. Keep up the great work.
Fantastic!!!! Great shifting great screaming Detroit Blower sound and that deep Bark of the Detroit 8V71. Great truck in absolute mint condition ! Amazing how little or no smoke at all it showed when he drove up the driveway!!! Greetz from The Netherlands! Bjorn
This is absolutely the best video ever man can you please do more like this one only make it a raw video and see if you can get the start up on the next one because I love it I can’t get enough of the Detroit thanks man you stay safe thanks
Oh my god. Detroit diesel porn.Pants down around my ankles , Carpal tunnel hurting and 2 cigarettes after it was over LOL hell of a job catching great audio
I'm sitting in the same Hyundai loader at my work watching your great vids instead of loading trucks myself lol I'd rather be watching that ol 2stroker
Hauls gravel and A$$ :-) You ever haul with your Brockway? That 8V71 on this one sounds fantastic :-) Do like the screaming Jimmy sound your Brockway has going too with the 671 :-)) Sounds like those Sherman tanks the Marine's used to get with the 2 x 671 motors in them :-) Cool stuff bud! NOICE!!
It was originally a 5x4. No jakes. These damn brockway cabs are so terrible to work on there barely enough clearance to get the valve cover off as it is. No way a jake would fit.
Interesting Brockway dump truck. Reyco suspension, I have not seen that many dump trucks with Reyco or similar suspensions. I would think a Brockway spec'ed as a dump truck would have had some version of the Hendrickson walking beam or even the Mack camelback rear suspension.
You're both right. It was originally a heavy haul tractor and had some goofy kind of rear suspension that was like camelback or hendrickson but way worse. Had a ton of side to side play and had like 6 something ratio rears when he got it. Although it was already a dump when he got it Curt and our buddy derek swapped the rears and suspension to what it has now which is reyco and i think 430 rears.
Very nice brock an u can tell curt knows his truck. How come u didnt use ur green broxk to fix drive way if i may ask sir. Love ur channel to by the way.
Take my advice. Unless you want eternal ringing in the ears, get ear protectton. I had to drive them screamin Son of a Bitches for a living! I know what I. talking about.
OMG the carbon footprint that old thing must have, and all the noise has to have the wildlife terrified. There is no way a truck that old should be on the road, it's unsafe. He should scrap it and get a Tesla Semi. Just the fuel savings alone would pay for it in a couple years
Im sure it impresses everyone shifting without the clutch , then some wonder why the shift pattern has slack side to side and back an forth , why the slide collars teeth are damaged on the main shaft , why the slide collars teeth on 1st ,2nd ,3rd & 4th are damaged , why the shift forks and shift rails are damaged , why it wont stay in gear , why its hard to get in gear and so on . Transmission parts are not cheap , not to mention pulling it out and tearing it down to fix it . Here is what eaton has to say about it >>>> th-cam.com/video/zL0LX0oo0Mg/w-d-xo.html
Nobody who knows what they are doing uses a clutch. I'm almost 50 years in and have never used a clutch. I don't even think I know anyone who uses a clutch, and me and my crowd have hauled all kinds of crazy shit on combinations up to 13 axles and weights over 200,000. Not to mention with all kinds of crazy combinations like Mack Quad Boxes with 4 way Spicers behind them. Clutches are for truck driver school grads, most of whom will never be any good
@@charlesmccormick4443 Wow, they must have taught that to you in big rig school, huh? You never learned how to float gears? I'm guessing you're a freight hauler with an auto trans restriction huh?
I set this thing up like this for Curt a few years ago and he's still grossing it out with no problems. 2300 meh those are rookie numbers you gotta pump them up! 😂
Hell curt really knows how to shift thoes gears like a pro
Nothing else is better than waking up and watching a new episode of ol2stroker to get your morning / weekend started 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
That's for sure! Doing the same here!
@@blackfx4x4 lol the girlfriend didn't like it when i put this episode through the surround sound system and cranked up the subs and let it roar lol

Curtis Low was the finest trucker to ever run Ol Blue.
Got to love that 8-71 bring back memories. Thanks
Nothing sounds better than an old Detroit
Could listen to that all day. That wigwag reminds me of when I started.
Tell curt thanks for keeping the ole gall standing tall
Will do!
The good old days of a scream in demon. Nice truck keep up the great content

That Detroit sounded 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Nothing like that Detroit sound. Love it
You wouldn’t if you had to drive one for a living. The headache and ringing ears would quickly change your opinion.
@@mikek5298 had twin 8v53 detroits that cruised at 2700 rpm's. Used to do 4 and 5hr trips....never bothered me.
your buddy is a good dump truck operator. He did a hell of a job of spreading.
I had to come back for my boy Curt. Cool beans!!!!
Cool to see a local on TH-cam, Curt is a couple miles from me. I ride the scooter out your way all the time.
The man knows how to run that detroit. Good job
Best dump video on youtube. The Brock looks and sounds awesome.
Good to see he's not using the clutch
Working girl! Love the 8v71 sounds on a Friday afternoon clocked out and beer in hand👌
Obviously a well maintained truck. Kurt knows his business. Cool ride boys

Oh Man that just made my mourning
What badass machine. Can totally tell now how they overdubbed the sound of a Detroit for Rubber Ducks Mack.
Nice scenic ride, with some sweet background noise. He did a nice job spreading that stone...
Love the old Brockway dump truck!
Love the ride in Curt Brock and really love the sound of the 8v71 sounds even better when loaded stay safe Wayne.
Hi Wayne I have a 671 powered diamond reo dump truck I was wondering how to get more power out of it

Nice Brockway sounds outstanding....
Beautiful scenery, and nice sound! thanks man :) cheers from Italy.
This must be like what ricers feel like when they drive. All the noise and no speed.
10:30 every Honda ever…
🤣🤣🤣🤣
The best sounding Detroit of all the natural 8V71. I wonder how many HP with the N80s? With M95s they are 395 HP. Thanks for the upload.
Thanks for that Blew the Wax Out of Ears!!!
