    This is so amazing! It's cool seeing Kraftwerk at their best playing Autobahn on TV and I've actually never seen Karl play the synthetic drums, so it was really nice watching him play with Wolfgang, Florian, and Ralf. Long Live Kraftwerk!!!

    • @scius327
      @scius327 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Noise, by definition, is NOT music, and a "principle" to the contrary is nonsense!

    • @chinocracy
      @chinocracy 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, at times, the concept of what's noise and what's music can be quite subjective, so a one-for-all law on it can't be made

      Kraftwerk is the father of some subgenres, such as electro house and hip hop while JM Jarre is the father of trance. Cmiiw

      @@plejady No it’s Kraftwerk, Punks would be the first to admit that bands like Sex Pistols weren’t even proper musicians, much more attitude and anarchic behaviour statement makers. They even took their stage performance cue from The Stooges, New York Dolls, Ramones proto-punksters and a bit of Velvet Underground art/garage rock. Kraftwerk actually failed to put their favourite influencers to work but ended up pioneering a revolutionary electronic music genre from near ground zero. They virtually birthed the sound of the 1980s, and influenced the many music genres and youth sub-cultures that followed. Even Bowie and 100s of pop stars and legends who you’d never guess as Kraftwerk fans cite them as influencers.

      What exactly do you mean by 'creative process'? The process of composing the music (melody, percussion, rythm, lyrics), composing the sounds (tuning variables and parameters), playing the sounds/music in a non-perfect pre-programmed way (the human touch in the man-machine)?
      It's all based upon electrical signals, stemming from a wall outlet @ 50/60Hz. Using analog or digital equipment in the process, in the end it all becomes analogue through the speakers. ;)
      But I guess you probably like the idea of all steps being 'analogue': the tone generators, the instruments and their controls, the recordings, the production of albums (vinyl and/or tape)?
      Kraftwerk digitalised all of their sounds, samples and music in the eighties. That's one of the reasons that it took so long to create and publish new material, it seemed.

    • @verapamil07
      @verapamil07 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's not about digital vs analogue , it is about people who know hot to do sound synthesis aka most people who used them in 70s and 80s, there was no other option VS nowadays when you have million presets.

    • @tlatosmd
      @tlatosmd 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That date of first live synth solo may well be challenged even just for first British or Anglophone band that did it, depending upon when exactly Chicory Tip and Hot Butter first began touring with their hit singles, "Son of my Father" and "Popcorn". Before that, there were already Amon Düül II, who were using Moogs since 1968. Perrey & Kingsley were using Moogs since 1967, but were they actually touring at that time? Ah, just found this: One of the first public demonstrations of the Moog was by experimental musicians Paul Beaver and Bernie Krause at the 1967 Monterey Pop Festival.
      Heck, if you even count so-called "electronic pianos" or "electronic keyboards", The Beatles were using them on their tours as early as 1965 and 1966! Just look at what John's playing on the concert film of their Shea Stadium appearance.
