the upstaging claim was to see that other actors were just Not as Good at affecting storytelling... honestly, she and plenty of Good actors had no trouble working together, in fact, she , Slim Summerliin and Most of the supporting actors were generally BETTER than the hollywouldn't overpromoted actors all too popular =always instead of supporting type actors as she was such a quintessential one of all!

This was really funny! Slim Summerville was excellent as the crazy inventor. Loved his facial expressions. I'm beginning to be a fan of Zasu Pitts, too.
The whole movie is a true gem 💎. However, the town meeting starting about 33:30 is hilariously fun exposure of the fine, upstanding snobby citizens you won’t soon forget and that you might turn to again for an afternoon or evening of clean, old time humor. Remember Minerva said, “He was a Marine.” Lol
I love this movie it is so funny and yet there is a moral to the story as all old movies seem to have

I’d never seen Elyse Knox before, not having seen any of the Joe Palooka movies. What a gorgeous actress❗️😀🌺✅. And Zasu as funny as ever, at least in the first half of the movie. After that it goes downhill unfortunately.
The first half was pretty zany but from the beginning of the town meeting to the end the comedy kept building till I caught myself guffawing and realized I didn't even know how long I'd been chortling away. The same thing happened when I first saw this movie a little over a year ago.
"I'll go catch a chicken for lunch" and that was the upper class. How things have changed.
This film is (at least) a real Americana museum piece.
Mark "heartthrob" Harmon's mom , also Rick "heartthrob" Nelson's mother in law played the girl friend . Mark does favor his mom . I guess those are two examples of how to be considered to be a "heartthrob" . Favor the looks of a beautiful mom .
