    It is incredible how fast one can: do the dishes, do the laundry, do the dusting, vacuum the house, feed the cat and cleaning the litter box, do the bed and make breakfast, as long as this is playing in the background. A perfect way to start the day.

    So, since I find the urge to leave my mark on every video you've posted on TH-cam completely irresistible, here I go again 😊 I can't think of a better way to unwind after a really intense day at home with the kids. Fever, runny noses and pouring rain outside. And when they fall asleep, I can play Calum and Heikki - and all is well in the world! 😉 If you only make it as far as Denmark in 2016 (but please try to include Sweden! We're waiting for you!) I've made plans with my dad to take a little trip 😊 We've always shared an interest in traditional music, and I introduced you guys to him a few weeks ago. Need I say he loved it?! And since he's played classical guitar and currently plays bass guitar in his old (now reunited) teenage band, he especially enjoyed the talent of Heikki 😊 What can I say, I'm just one of your biggest fans! All the best!

    Hello Calum. Your pipe is without metal on this particular set?

    • @CalumStewartMusic
      @CalumStewartMusic  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Radu, This set does have metal regulators yes, but because they are made from brass, and the pipes from boxwood, they are quite similar in colour, so maybe not easy to see! Cheers, Calum

      Calum Stewart it seems to me you have a great instrument and a classic one. I have seen others with a lot of brass, i mean used in the drones, the regulators and the chanter. Excelent piping. Keep it up!

      Thank you Radu. This set was made in the 1990's I believe. I have a different set now, but I really enjoyed playing this boxwood set while I had it.

      Question( I am new at pipes, so bear with me, pls): are there like schools or styles or different ways to play, according to region or even country?
      I watched before I found your clips Catherine Ashcroft and it seems to me there is quite a difference in the way she plays and you play. And , of course, there are also All kind of pipes in Great Britain and Ireland.
      Here in Romania we got bagpipes. Romanians call them cimpoi and aromanians - same nation, different dialect - call them gaida. Unfortunately , bagpipe aint a mainstream instrument, only a handful of musicians play it.
      Very popular here are wood whistle, romanian panflute and caval.
      Caval is my fave instrument, it has quite a different sound, very deep, round, penetrating. Not many can truly play caval.

      Yes there are festivals and piping clubs that teach, summer schools and weekend schools etc.
      Caval is beautiful indeed!
