One of the biggest privileges I have had is to recommend your channel to a friend and his wife who camp. I told them that you were the most honest review of equipment and gear I know. I explained that I have used your recommended rationed to buy more than a few pieces of equipment and never, never have I been disappointed by your recommendation’s. Thanks Luke for what you do for the community!!!!!
I'm so glad you're getting some time with your daughter over the holidays! Family is so important. Enjoy being with your family and don't worry about us. We'll all be here when you get back. You and Suzy have worked hard to raise kids with a conscience, and your morals and ethics are commendable. I see and hear it in every single video you put out. I hope your holidays are all you wished for, Luke, and that this Christmas will be one that is unforgettable in every good way.
I think a fire log would be a must for every trip. I love common sense camping as we did when we were kids. Grew up out in the country and looked forward to camping and relaxing from work around the home. Thanks and God bless.
It's obvious that you are very proud of your daughter, as you should be. My grandson graduates from Navy nuke school today! My daughter is in South Carolina for the graduation, and they fly home Saturday or Sunday, and he will be with us for a week for Christmas and New Years. Good video!
Hey Luke, I was just wondering. Are you aware of how many times you say (cheers) in each video? In my opinion, you have the word (cheers) completely mastered my friend. Keep on keeping on. And cheers!
Hi Luke, thanks for sharing this video, I just want to say thank you to your daughter for her service in these most difficult times, and want to Wish You and your Family a Merry Christmas and a Very Blessed and Happy New Year! Take care and stay safe 🙏 ❤️ 👍
🎉❤ I' will make sure the pack is secure and safe until you ..are back to the PAC and our den ouhoooooooooo"😮 have a wonderful holiday , merry Christmas 🎄 to you and your family .
It is so awesome to hear Maddie can spend Xmas with you. The military can be very challenging on relationships. I went through two marriages during my 23 years in the service.
Hi Luke, my son is around your age, in the Navy. He doesn’t talk to me anymore. His wife told me he’s Chief now. I was a rough dad, now he’s a bad azz dad with 3 daughters.
Sir? Just let him know you’re waiting on him to love you,if you make the first play. It’s in his ball park if he’s going to open the conversation. If he doesn’t you have to know you did all you’ve can.
With them both being service members its a little different. But speaking from the perspective of a military spouse, its a very hard life. Which is why they say that being an Army wife is the toughest job. Merry Christmas to all of you, and Thank your daughter for her service for me.
That is so cool that your daughter’s coming in. I bet you are so excited that I don’t think you’ll be able to sleep tonight.. my kids are in their late 50s they live in the same area that I do and I see them a lot and every time that I’m going to see them I get excited and happy so I can imagine how you feel. On top of everything you made sure that you came out to do a video for all of us., your friends. That just goes to show everyone what a top-notch guy you are and trust me there aren’t many around.. I appreciate you and Susie. I love your videos and I appreciate all the work that you put into making the video so that we enjoy them have fun with your daughter and the rest of your family and friends and have a great holiday.❤❤❤❤. there is a heart for you., Susie, your daughter and son
I slept for 3 months in my SUV on my mountain property, you get used to being cramped as it was mostly for sleeping and getting out like you mentioned. I like that little heater would make a difference to be able to warm up without running car. Slept better with foldable cot sized memory foam pad than air mattress though. Was just as good as my tempurpedic bed but mobile and you don't have to waste time inflating/deflating.
Hey Luke. Thanks for putting the metric temps and speeds etc in the video. I really appreciate it. Wish more YTers would think of their non-US viewers. 👍
You are too funny 🤣 Luke!! Love your stories!! Bet your wife got a kick out of the story😂.. she seems like she has a great sense of humor! Stay safe and Merry Christmas 🎁 to you and your family!
😂😂 Right. Now if those women played all helpless they’d have gotten his number. Whether it would’ve been his actual phone number or not…we’ll never know.
Awesome adventure Luke. I love hearing your stories 💜 I bet those women were having a girls night out and had fun flirting with you 😜 You mentioning the coffee has got me wanting some now and I'm going to do just that! Thanks! Sending you much love from Ohio.❤️
I wish you and your family a great Christmas! I want to add that It was interesting to learn you are a twin! I often wondered why some people like isolation so much. I read that sometimes twins often feel the need for space or isolation. Makes sense. Thank you for your videos, insights and sharing your life with us.
Hi Luke, I'm Sure your daughter will talk with you about security. It's tough when your children achieve great things as the old adage goes, Loose lips sink ships. Good video.
I had my first and only at 41. I would have been a terrible mother in my teens and 20s. Hubby and I are still healthy enough to keep up with him now that he's 25, and we were a LOT more sane while we raised him.
I had my first child at 43yrs old. You are correct. I am wiser, better focused, more patient, and those are the advantages. The downside is endurance. I still have great health compared to my peers, but I still get tired quicker than I did in my twenties. Consequently, I would suggest to any young to get married and have kids early. With the help of God you’ll be OK, just be correctable. Have a great time with your family and Merry Christmas!
Great video. What a spot! No go and enjoy your time with your kids. And please thank your daughter for her service. She is appreciated. May God protect her, and Merry Christmas!
Back in the day, I put a similar truck in a ditch in a similar situation in Nevada. Fortunately, they still had real jacks back then. I blocked the rear wheels, jacked up the front, then pushed the truck off the jack. Repeat twice, and I was back on the road. You can’t do that now, since plastic bumpers don’t support a bumper jack. You might be able to do it with a scissor jack, but it would take a lot more work.
Hey Luke I enjoyed the video but I missed the rain. Have you ever considered keeping a real fork and spoon in your gear? Please say hello and give sweet Susie and your kids a hug for me. Thank you for all the PHONOMINAL adventures of you and sweet Susie.❤🌹 Ms Ann
Hmm 7o'clock in the afternoon? To me thats evening hours. In the town I live in theres nothing to do no matter what time it is. Personally I prefer that! Im a genealogist so I can do that at any time day or night! Id take peace n quiet over shootings or loud noises. I enjoy your adventures, especially the ones where you stop by and say hi to the ponies on the mountain!
As much as we love the "full monty" gear camping adventures, the bare essentials ones are so much fun, too. One can have fun on a limited budget and minimal set-up/tear-down times. Thanks, Luke, for another great video. Hope you had a wonderful time with your daughter and son (your grown kids). Happy Holidays to you and Susie! P.S. Flattery and attention from the SUVs full of ladies was to be enjoyed. Does the ole ego good!
God bless your daughter. My parents were Navy in WW II, I did a 23 year career and another 21 years repairing submarines at Portsmouth Naval shipyard, in Kittery, ME. My son has been working there for 22 years. JFK once said "anyone asked in the 20th century what they did can answer with a great deal of pride and satisfaction, I served in the United States Navy." I believe that holds true today. You have great reason to be proud of her.

Post-hurricane flats - after the winds blow and roofs have taken a beating, roofing nails find a way to the road near you. It's a fact of life in Florida.
I got into camping after hurricane Ian and haven't looked back since. We went 2 weeks without any power or running water and both my 7 year old son and myself absolutely loved it which surprised me since he couldn't use any electronics. We try to go as much as possible and besides food, our dirt bikes the only other thing we take is my phone in case of emergencies.
Talk about having kids later in life - my older sister had her two boys in her late 30s - her oldest boy was born just before her 38 th birthday - he's 38 years old now - her youngest is 36 - and she's a widow
Interesting tidbit. Luke said he was driving for hours and hours. So is he almost home? Or? His gas tank shows about an 1/8th of a tank left. This is his normal. Seen alot. Weird? And he hasn't found a camping spot yet 😅
Hey Luke or should I say "piece of meat"...... ;) I hope you've put that tow strap in the 4Runner in the meantime. It might not have worked in this situation but usually it does and a great security blanket to have when you're in the middle of nowhere.
When winter hits, I put some genuine survival items in my car trunk, in case I have to set up camp on the other side of a guardrail if I get stuck in a pile up on a snowy highway up in the mountains. Maybe Luke will show us what he carries in his truck on long winter travels. In this video I would hope that he has a chainsaw for clearing downed trees and limbs on remote backwoods roads.
My daughter and son in-law are military. She is Air Force and he is Navy. Both do intelligence stuff also. His rotations for deployment are crazy. She lives in one state and he lives in another. Military life is sometimes tough.
You should see the things I go through in my long bed 97 f150 2wd. People think I'm nuts😂 but hey some of the good campsites are gonna require getting through some sketchy obstacles
