This is a man after God's heart. He shares the Gospel and Biblical principles in his music, speaking and his life. He is not in the Christian music business for riches or fame.
Listening to this song today....feels I need to learn and master the lyrics and the piano so that one day I can minister to others through this song. It really touches me and am sure that others will be blessed too!!!
A lyrically-laden, pithy song, with a rare depth, challenging to all, and uplifting to those who follow "God's Own Fool," the Lord Jesus Christ. Praise the name of Jesus!
This song is about me my doubt to my transformation. When I got saved I saw these words play out all around the power of paradox open their eyes and blinds those who say they can see.
THANK YOU! I love it......brings to mind Keith Green, and I gladly have ordered a CD to enjoy and for the Holy Spirit to fill my heart with gladness. I love your music, thank you, thank you, thank you!
Just shared this song with a fellow attorney, Jewish friend, who claims he is an atheist, but I discern in his protestations a hunger. His name is Mark (the author of the earliest Gospel). Please pray for him.
I've seen Michael perform live at least 4 times. Most of these times were when he was traveling and performing solely with the accompaniment of John Catchings on the cello. A multi-talented man, skillful at piano, guitar and even the Celtic harp. I was never disappointed.
+mindsaglowin - saw him once in Austin, with Bob, ugh darn can't remember at the moment. Michael was playing solo. Bob "Bennett", (sp) not sure opened.
A celestial piece of biblical depth, harmonious musical flavour and pulsating truth! Thanks Dear Sir. ...your ministry is amazing! God's wonderful! !... I must have been listening to you from my teenage years through your song, 'El Shaddai' without even knowing the writer. .. Only to be introduced to you propermy and exposed more by my Teacher at Panam College of @ Music Ministry, Jos, Nigeria between 2006 & 2007. 'God's own fool' is no doubt one of your most remarkable works!!
This man's music has been considered classic since before I was a Christian. I can remember even back in the early 80s hearing songs like this and "Love crucified Arose". This one mans talent was a gift you a whole generation.
Seems I've imagined Him all of my life As the wisest of all of mankind But if God's Holy wisdom is foolish to men He must have seemed out of His mind For even His family said He was mad And the priests said a demon's to blame But God in the form of this angry young man Could not have seemed perfectly sane When we in our foolishness thought we were wise He played the fool and He opened our eyes When we in our weakness believed we were strong He became helpless to show we were wrong And so we follow God's own fool For only the foolish can tell- Believe the unbelievable And come be a fool as well So come lose your life for a carpenter's son For a madman who died for a dream And you'll have the faith His first followers had And you'll feel the weight of the beam So surrender the hunger to say you must know Have the courage to say I believe For the power of paradox opens your eyes And blinds those who say they can see So we follow God's own Fool For only the foolish can tell Believe the unbelievable, And come be a fool as well

I am almost 37, I was raised on this man's amazing music.
What a blessing from God.

I'm so thankful to God for Michael Card!

Each time l listen to Michael Card, I feel renewed and strengthened in God's love and in my vocation.
+mirabelle cherub , so do I!
This man has written some brilliant songs...he's singing the soundtrack of my early days in Christ, him and Keith Green, that is.
David Gifford and Rich Mullins
David Gifford
Right there with you. Keith, Michael Card, Steve Camp too!
I have followed Michael for many years. I first saw him in a concert in the 80's. A humble servant of God giving Fod the glory
Card, Keith Green, Rich Mullins, Second Chapter of Acts, and John Michael Talbot . . . Such blessings!
I can't stop listening to his music ! The stuff is addicting and puts me in a different place
+Joshua Hults , me too!!!
I love you Michael card, thank you for speaking Gods word. God has truly used you.
This song is about me my doubt to my transformation. When I got saved I saw these words play out all around the power of paradox open their eyes and blinds those who say they can see.
Such eloquent poetry even without the music.
His music is prophetic. It brings light and life whenever it's played.
THANK YOU! I love it......brings to mind Keith Green, and I gladly have ordered a CD to enjoy and for the Holy Spirit to fill my heart with gladness. I love your music, thank you, thank you, thank you!
when somone walks in his calling...power of god revealed
I'm so happy to have found this. This music ministered to me in my youth. "Believe the unbelievable and come be a fool as well."
I absolutely love this song. This version is so much better than the original (most of the time live music is better)
Just shared this song with a fellow attorney, Jewish friend, who claims he is an atheist, but I discern in his protestations a hunger. His name is Mark (the author of the earliest Gospel). Please pray for him.
How is Mark?
What a kingdom song
Jesus loves rhis5
This is the song that first caught my attention and challenged me to look for real "soul food" (AKA meat) in music.
Praise God for the ministry and life of Michael Card. He blends sound theology with beautiful music artistry. Solo Deo Gloria.

Thank you. Your song spoke to me today
This is one of the most brilliant religious songs I have ever heard. Better from a theology perspective is The Final Word.
Seems I've imagined Him all of my life
As the wisest of all of mankind
But if God's Holy wisdom is foolish to men
He must have seemed out of His mind
For even His family said He was mad
And the priests said a demon's to blame
But God in the form of this angry young man
Could not have seemed perfectly sane
When we in our foolishness thought we were wise
He played the fool and He opened our eyes
When we in our weakness believed we were strong
He became helpless to show we were wrong
And so we follow God's own fool
For only the foolish can tell-
Believe the unbelievable
And come be a fool as well
So come lose your life for a carpenter's son
For a madman who died for a dream
And you'll have the faith His first followers had
And you'll feel the weight of the beam
So surrender the hunger to say you must know
Have the courage to say I believe
For the power of paradox opens your eyes
And blinds those who say they can see
So we follow God's own Fool
For only the foolish can tell
Believe the unbelievable,
And come be a fool as well
God really open Michael's eye
I used to make fun of my college roommate for listening to this music, now I cannot get enough of it.
WOW
Great piano.
