Was there at the end! Billy Coleman came 1st in the Stratos. Roger Clark retired but I remember him at the finish. Brilliant tarmac rally! I actually met an english gent years later in England who said he came 5th in that rally - when I met him he was organising 3D CAD training and had a classic rally prepared Mini Cooper in his garage though I think he drove an Escort in the rally.
I believe I competed on the 1977 Donegal with Henri Inurrieta in a Group 1 Escort 2000. The following year, we won group 1 , and you will have to get my upcoming book "Get My Drift" to find out how we did it.
