Regarding the Sungmin situation 34:52 Sungmin decided to get married without consulting anyone in Super Junior, especially Leeteuk, and at the time Leeteuk was having to deal with the fact that his own father had just murdered his grandparents and killed himself. While the other Super Junior members were taking care of Leeteuk and supporting him, Sungmin was off planning a wedding he didn’t tell anyone about. He had kept even the engagement a complete secret from everyone. That’s why people wanted him to leave Super Junior. It was a selfish decision. I’ve been an ELF for 15 years, and this whole situation broke all of our hearts. It was more than just people being mad that he was getting married. We would have been happy for him to get married, had he not planned it in secret and chose his wedding over supporting his leader who was going through the worst time in his life. He chose his random kept-secret-until-the-day-of-wedding, over being there with his members for his leader. He completely betrayed the other members AND the fans. ELF have had a lot of heartbreak over the years since debut with members leaving, but the Sungmin one hurt the most. A lot of us loved him. Hope this helps clear things up ❤️

Thank you so much for making this video! I have been a fan of Super Junior since 2012 and they are still my favorite boy group today! While some of the members have done stuff I don't agree with, I respect them for still being in the industry and achieving their dreams despite all that they have been through. I also respect their talent - I truly believe that Kyuhyun, Ryeowook, and Yesung are some of the best male vocalists in Kpop, if not THE best. Ryeowook's voice is my absolute favorite! I happen to come scross your channel late but thank you for showing love to our Suju , yes ELF is one of the cutest name to exist ever . I appreciate your efforts and appreciation for suju , we ELF always are happy to have interest in our boys (they are still boys for me ) as any SM group , superjunior has went through a lot and though there are 10 members now but in our heart and all the original members are still part of suju and are still close . Lastly nope, SM has still not learnt it's lesson .
The Chinese sub-units are for promotions in China. Super Junior-M was very successful there. The only reason why they went on hiatus is because of the growing tension between Korea and China. Kpop idols were banned from promoting in China. In fact, Super Junior has never had a Super Show in China since SS6 in 2015. About a couple years ago, Korean idols were banned to use China’s social media Weibo. Only recently were they able to do fan signing events and were allowed to use Weibo again. SJ-M was the most successful SJ sub-unit until D&E surpassed them having a similar concept and still being active.

Love that you did this guide, it's the best members one in my opinion! Leeteuk is my bias with Kyuhun hot on his heels. Leeteuk has just been through so much professionally and personally and I respect the hell out of him!... Also that dimple is dreamy 😅 I so wish Heechul and Kyu started a Twice cover dance band too, but probably not gonna happen since Heechul and Momo broke up 😆. And what a great idea, they soooo should've done a sub unit where they were a rock band playing instruments. Now sorry if this turns out to be a long comment but I want to give you the answers to some of the things you asked and that I remember lol Regarding the Sub-units, SJ has 5 Sub-units: KRY, Super Junior T (the T stands for Trot, which is the name of a genre of Korean music) focused on singing Trot songs, this sub-unit gave us the song Rokkugo, which is like a classic song from SJ and most of the fandom loves that song and they sing it most of the time on their shows. There is also Super Junior H, this sub-unit was more focused on singing like happy and a bit childish songs lol, then we have Super Junior M and D&E, 5 total, but Super Junior T, H and M have been inactive for several years and we only have left KRY and D&E. I never thought of them having a sub-unit that was actually a band but yeah it could have been possible cuz yeah most of them play instruments, I've seen Leeteuk playing the piano and he can also play the Saxophone, Sungmin also played the guitar, Siwon played the drums as well, they have mostly done it on their SS shows, and Donghae can also play the piano and guitar, oh these multitalented men.
I figured it might be better to post the rest on another comment lol So since you mentioned Phantom of the Opera, well let me tell you that Kyu did that musical. It was even made into a film, yes they recorded the musical and a few weeks ago it was announced that it was going to be played in some movie theaters in several countries, including the US, in some theaters in LA if I remember correctly. Speaking of LA, they announced a few days ago that they will be performing in LA on October 15&16, at a Kpop festival/show, there will be other Kpop groups performing as well and also I would advise you to keep an eye on their sns because they would probably go to the US with their SS9. They mentioned at their comeback press conference several countries and places like Europe, the US and Latinoamerica where they want to return with the SS9, but this might happen at the end of this year or beginning of next one, so yeah keep an eye on that!
Shirt, the song you said you really liked and has the “Girl, you’re tasty” lyrics was composed and written by Donghae and his friends. It was supposed to be the title tracked but was changed at the last minute. Shindong and Eunhyuk choreographed it but they think it was the choreography that was the reason it was changed. They were probably planning on a title track that was composed and choreographed by them.
On the surface they seem to be happy and dorky but there are some underlying stories about them. Like the horrible accidents of Heechul or Leeteuk, Kyuhyun. The really low self-esteem of Yesung make him updating SNS all day and did extreme diet because he is scared that fans will forget him. Many of them faced bodyshaming like Shindong, Yesung, Eunhyuk but Shindong, Eunhyuk use it as a charm of them. All Korean idols have issues that they don't share with audience, some are really questionable in other countries but reasonable in Korea like their beauty standard. That's why as a Kpop fan, I try not to send hate or to hate other Kpop groups. If I don't like a group, I will ignore and never search for them.

The situation with Sungmin is not a simple one. Its not the fact that Sungmin got married, but the way he handle the situation. He got married in the middle of album promotion, and this halt the entire promotion after that. "Fans are jealous" - Sungmin k-fanclub already known about his relationship for a long time. They also know the supposed date, and has been in talk with Sungmin to change the date for more appropriate time. I believe Sungmin denied at first, so the sudden announcement was like a backstab for the fanclub. At that time, ELF are really open for them to get married, as you can see with Leeteuk, Eunhyuk, Heechul WGM Show. Shindong also declare to being in serious relationship. Its not that ELF are opposed for SJ to get married, but the circumstance at that time is not in Sungmin favors. Its been almost 9 years, and i believe that Sungmin has every right to comeback with SJ. But he no longer has strong fanbase/fanclub in Korea apparently

I just heard he got married and didn't tell the fans, that's why they got mad (and because he got married in overall...). And I thought that was ridiculous, because they have no right to demand that he tells them about his private life, especially when you consider how some of them act when their bias gets married. first off, fans already knew they were dating before it became official, some fans begged him to date secretly so it wont bring any bad influence to suju, he deleted the comments and block the fans. Then went dating in public then got caught by some media and then get reported to public. Secondly, he used some accesories that fans gave him as couple items with his wife, girlfriend back then which is also pretty disrespectful to fans. Third, 2014 was a really important year for suju. itsw because the mamacita album was the first album in two years after leetuek discharged from army, its also the last album before most members enlisted. Sungmin didnt care about nothing. He announced that he is getting married just one week before the album cae out which brought lots of negative influence to the team. Not just that, Sungmin insists on having the wedding on Dec 13th even though SM and members discussed with him and told him its not a good idea just becaue of the reason that he wanted to get married with his wife on the date they first met. The reason why SM and members disagree was because they were in the middle of Japan concert tour during the time. because of Sungmin's wedding, they had to went back to South Korean the day before, attend the wedding and fly back to Japan the next day for concert. Sungmin went directly to honeymoon and skipped the rest of the concerts... These are some of the big reasons i can think of now, and you can decide on your own and see if fans have the rights to be mad this paricular time.@@hopejohnson6389

I got into a fight with a Korean fan on twitter about how it was dumb that they don't want Sungmin back in the group just because he got married. And, I shit you not, this girl said they're still mad at him because, "he didn't apologize for getting married". I hate these fans who think these idols lives belong to them, just like the people who aren't supporting Chen and want him to leave EXO, when this man has two children already. It's so dumb.
Actually the reasons Kelfs and Celfs are mad at him was not because he got married. There are a lot more stories and reasons behind their anger. Kelfs boycotting Sungmin bcoz he's married is the most misunderstood thing for International elfs. It's difficult for me to list all the reasons down because it's a long list due to a series of events, there is a Chinese video explaining everything and it already takes 5-6mins. I've nothing against him since I'm a new elf, but the reasons for the older elfs feeling angry and heartbroken are valid imo.... Just saying... I'm not against him coming back to the group though
My understanding is that it had to do with how his marriage happened. Wanting him to apologize for causing misunderstandings around that isn't unreasonable. He may have already done that, it's not a situation I ever followed closely.

It's a series of events that he and wife did, that built up the eventual huge anger. He enlisted without doing any explanation or apologize, it was the other members who kept apologizing to fans on his behalf, how ironic. He finally wrote an apology letter when he discharged from army, but that was already 2 years later, everyone has moved on and happily settled with the current 9 members.
Hi! 💙 loved your video! SuJu is still my ult (alongside EXO), they introduced me to kpop in 2012 and I’ve been an ELF ever since! I just recently became fully aware of their problematic behavior, and the indefendible things they have done, so I never and will never defend those behaviors and some of their beliefs that I don’t share. I know that the “trend” of hating on them and hoping for their disband comes mostly from the western public, so that being said, I just wanted to say that I am grateful for your content and how you showed respect towards them, I think they deserve respect as artists and for their long ass career. They need to be held accountable yes, and as their fans it’s our duty to do that with respect, but I don’t think cancellation it’s gonna help them grow as people. Now sorry if this turns out to be a long comment but I want to give you the answers to some of the things you asked and that I remember lol
Regarding the Sub-units, SJ has 5 Sub-units: KRY, Super Junior T (the T stands for Trot, which is the name of a genre of Korean music) focused on singing Trot songs, this sub-unit gave us the song Rokkugo, which is like a classic song from SJ and most of the fandom loves that song and they sing it most of the time on their shows. There is also Super Junior H, this sub-unit was more focused on singing like happy and a bit childish songs lol, then we have Super Junior M and D&E, 5 total, but Super Junior T, H and M have been inactive for several years and we only have left KRY and D&E.
I never thought of them having a sub-unit that was actually a band but yeah it could have been possible cuz yeah most of them play instruments, I've seen Leeteuk playing the piano and he can also play the Saxophone, Sungmin also played the guitar, Siwon played the drums as well, they have mostly done it on their SS shows, and Donghae can also play the piano and guitar, oh these multitalented men.

So since you mentioned Phantom of the Opera, well let me tell you that Kyu did that musical. It was even made into a film, yes they recorded the musical and a few weeks ago it was announced that it was going to be played in some movie theaters in several countries, including the US, in some theaters in LA if I remember correctly. Speaking of LA, they announced a few days ago that they will be performing in LA on October 15&16, at a Kpop festival/show, there will be other Kpop groups performing as well and also I would advise you to keep an eye on their sns because they would probably go to the US with their SS9. They mentioned at their comeback press conference several countries and places like Europe, the US and Latinoamerica where they want to return with the SS9, but this might happen at the end of this year or beginning of next one, so yeah keep an eye on that!

Shirt, the song you said you really liked and has the “Girl, you’re tasty” lyrics was composed and written by Donghae and his friends. It was supposed to be the title tracked but was changed at the last minute. Shindong and Eunhyuk choreographed it but they think it was the choreography that was the reason it was changed. They were probably planning on a title track that was composed and choreographed by them.

On the surface they seem to be happy and dorky but there are some underlying stories about them. Like the horrible accidents of Heechul or Leeteuk, Kyuhyun. The really low self-esteem of Yesung make him updating SNS all day and did extreme diet because he is scared that fans will forget him. Many of them faced bodyshaming like Shindong, Yesung, Eunhyuk but Shindong, Eunhyuk use it as a charm of them.
All Korean idols have issues that they don't share with audience, some are really questionable in other countries but reasonable in Korea like their beauty standard. That's why as a Kpop fan, I try not to send hate or to hate other Kpop groups. If I don't like a group, I will ignore and never search for them.
Kyuhyun has done Phantom. If I remember correctly they recorded the musical and showed it on some cities of usa this year, as part of a festival.

I guess your bias is Siwon lol. About Sungmin, fans don’t like him not because of him getting married, but the way he handled this and the timing were not good at that time. You may study more about that.
The situation with Sungmin is not a simple one. Its not the fact that Sungmin got married, but the way he handle the situation. He got married in the middle of album promotion, and this halt the entire promotion after that.
"Fans are jealous" - Sungmin k-fanclub already known about his relationship for a long time. They also know the supposed date, and has been in talk with Sungmin to change the date for more appropriate time. I believe Sungmin denied at first, so the sudden announcement was like a backstab for the fanclub.
At that time, ELF are really open for them to get married, as you can see with Leeteuk, Eunhyuk, Heechul WGM Show. Shindong also declare to being in serious relationship. Its not that ELF are opposed for SJ to get married, but the circumstance at that time is not in Sungmin favors.
Its been almost 9 years, and i believe that Sungmin has every right to comeback with SJ. But he no longer has strong fanbase/fanclub in Korea apparently

I am slightly sad that Sungmin doesnt participate in Suju anymore. But this is one of the time that I actually understand the fans. you need to dig deep into the situation to know what really happened and how disappointed he made the fans. Can you tell me more about the situation? I'm really curious to hear a different perspective. I just heard he got married and didn't tell the fans, that's why they got mad (and because he got married in overall...). And I thought that was ridiculous, because they have no right to demand that he tells them about his private life, especially when you consider how some of them act when their bias gets married. It's cruel.
first off, fans already knew they were dating before it became official, some fans begged him to date secretly so it wont bring any bad influence to suju, he deleted the comments and block the fans. Then went dating in public then got caught by some media and then get reported to public. Secondly, he used some accesories that fans gave him as couple items with his wife, girlfriend back then which is also pretty disrespectful to fans. Third, 2014 was a really important year for suju. itsw because the mamacita album was the first album in two years after leetuek discharged from army, its also the last album before most members enlisted. Sungmin didnt care about nothing. He announced that he is getting married just one week before the album cae out which brought lots of negative influence to the team. Not just that, Sungmin insists on having the wedding on Dec 13th even though SM and members discussed with him and told him its not a good idea just becaue of the reason that he wanted to get married with his wife on the date they first met. The reason why SM and members disagree was because they were in the middle of Japan concert tour during the time. because of Sungmin's wedding, they had to went back to South Korean the day before, attend the wedding and fly back to Japan the next day for concert. Sungmin went directly to honeymoon and skipped the rest of the concerts... These are some of the big reasons i can think of now, and you can decide on your own and see if fans have the rights to be mad this paricular time.@@hopejohnson6389

Moreover, He announced the wedding invitation ON the day that Kyuhyun released his first solo album. He admited his dating with his wife the day before Donghae's birthday. Do you think he has taken his member's feeling into consideration...? I got into a fight with a Korean fan on twitter about how it was dumb that they don't want Sungmin back in the group just because he got married. And, I shit you not, this girl said they're still mad at him because, "he didn't apologize for getting married". I hate these fans who think these idols lives belong to them, just like the people who aren't supporting Chen and want him to leave EXO, when this man has two children already. It's so dumb.
Actually the reasons Kelfs and Celfs are mad at him was not because he got married. There are a lot more stories and reasons behind their anger. Kelfs boycotting Sungmin bcoz he's married is the most misunderstood thing for International elfs. It's difficult for me to list all the reasons down because it's a long list due to a series of events, there is a Chinese video explaining everything and it already takes 5-6mins. I've nothing against him since I'm a new elf, but the reasons for the older elfs feeling angry and heartbroken are valid imo.... Just saying... I'm not against him coming back to the group though
My understanding is that it had to do with how his marriage happened. Wanting him to apologize for causing misunderstandings around that isn't unreasonable. He may have already done that, it's not a situation I ever followed closely.
@@gigiiv That was just partial reason that made fans feel disappointed but probably not to the extent of feeling angry and boycotting him almost unanimously. It's a series of events that he and wife did, that built up the eventual huge anger. He enlisted without doing any explanation or apologize, it was the other members who kept apologizing to fans on his behalf, how ironic. He finally wrote an apology letter when he discharged from army, but that was already 2 years later, everyone has moved on and happily settled with the current 9 members.

Hi! 💙 loved your video! SuJu is still my ult (alongside EXO), they introduced me to kpop in 2012 and I’ve been an ELF ever since!
I just recently became fully aware of their problematic behavior, and the indefendible things they have done, so I never and will never defend those behaviors and some of their beliefs that I don’t share. I know that the “trend” of hating on them and hoping for their disband comes mostly from the western public, so that being said, I just wanted to say that I am grateful for your content and how you showed respect towards them, I think they deserve respect as artists and for their long ass career. They need to be held accountable yes, and as their fans it’s our duty to do that with respect, but I don’t think cancellation it’s gonna help them grow as people.
This video was touching bc it’s rare for me to see good/respectful content of them nowadays from western creators/kpop fans (assuming that you are American or Canadian 🤍 English is not my first language) So again, thank you 💙 I hope SJ can keep growing and I wish for their career to keep lasting! Actually the problem about Sungmin is not that he married. The fans wouldn't be so mad about him if he just married, so please understand that. SUJU members are also very mad about Sungmin and none of the members follow Sungmin's SNS even though they follow the other members left out such as Kangin
