    This was pretty helpful, from a almost sophomore point of view. Not going to lie, never saw the point of all the hype about Blake until now. Bigger rooms are a big deal, but the dorm I was in was pretty great. It was the engineering res college. Having people around you suffering the same way, fighting the same battles was very helpful when it came to making friends.

    First of all,,,,this video is so helpful in understanding the process. I will be ready come selection day! I chose a traditional dorm on my housing contract. Blake is not a choice that I can tell for incoming freshman. I am in the Ag College but I wasn't sure I wanted to live with everyone in the Ag School, so I was looking at New Acadia. Is that an OK choice. I figured it was close to everything, including Blake where the Ag college majors will be living. What floor for a male would you recommend. Thanks

    I’m very much considering staying close to home and going to LSU for college so I was wondering what do y’all where to class? Is it more like casual shirts and jeans/jean shorts or is like casual t shirt, LSU shirt and Nike shorts/ leggings?

    • @alexlicht4119
      @alexlicht4119  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      _abby_christine_ most freshman will wear nike shorts and a t-shirt and tennis shoes. People do wear LSU attire but it’s very mixed! A lot of people dress a little cuter especially in the winter with sweaters and stuff but when it gets hot most people just wear t-shirt’s. I like to dress cute some days though, and there’s usually a few people that I see also dressed cute!

    Sorry I’m late to seeing this haha but are you allowed to have a car on campus? I’m thinking of transferring there as a sophomore and wondering about cars and parking. If so, do you have to pay for a parking pass?

    • @alexlicht4119
      @alexlicht4119  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Anne Ueber yes you are allowed to have a car! You will have to buy a parking pass to park anywhere on campus, and there’s different passes for length of time (semester, year, or summer I think) and then location. For example, “C” passes can park near the dorms and “1” passes can park in the commuter lots.

    Are freshmen assigned a certain dorm ? Like smaller dorms

    • @alexlicht4119
      @alexlicht4119  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, however there are a lot of dorms that typically go to upperclassmen first. For example, Annie Boyd hall is really nice, but we knew we had no chance there because they always go to upperclassmen.

  • @AndImTheBlondie

    do you think its possible to find a random roommate who you are compatible, and if so, what is your advice for finding one? I really want to live at the ag part of blake hall but none of my friends have a major in the ag college.

    • @alexlicht4119
      @alexlicht4119  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely! The LSU roommate matching process is not bad, but if you want to take other steps, I would recommend looking for facebook groups for your LSU class (I'm class of 2020) or searching for roommates further on facebook or other social media. there are also lots of websites that help you match with roommates... I'm sure anyone using the websites are eager to find someone really compatible, too! Just be honest when answering questions though-- especially when it comes to your preferences on temperature, noise, study times, and how often they go out/sleep times. :) best of luck!

    Do you have to pay for a dorm room ?

    • @alexlicht4119
      @alexlicht4119  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nita Stelly yes, some cost more than others!

    • @nitastelly6677
      @nitastelly6677 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      was it SUPER expenisve or a resonable cost ? and was it a one time fee or a monthly payment btw LOVE YOUR VIDEOS and thanks for replying

    • @alexlicht4119
      @alexlicht4119  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nita Stelly they are all different. Herget is the least expensive I think, at like $2,400/semester (coming out to like $600/month or more considering when you move in/out which might be the middle of the month). There are apartments off-campus that go for a little less than this but I think freshmen are required to live on campus first year now :/ the more expensive dorms will go for around $4,000 per semester.
      You also should consider that meal plans are required when you live on campus! Which is an additional cost.
