  • Yeeees welcome back to Dyl & Friends.
This week I'm joined by my good mate Jack Silvagni from the Carlton Football Club. I've known Jack for a long time so it was great to finally sit down and have a chat. We spoke about his road to playing footy, his relationship with the Blues and playing at the club while his old-man was involved and we also settled the putter-saga from earlier in the year.

It was so good to hear from Jack - in Jacks voice, no club script, just him talking openly to a mate, relaxed and happy. Amazing insights. Well done. I can’t wait to see Jack holding up those premiership cups he helped put in our hands. It’s all on the way!

When I hear the conversation about playing roles and or certain positions I just think about Acres touching the ball on the goal line 3 weeks in a row to keep us in the game in finals while having a cracked Clavicle and also being the winning goal kicker in 2 of those games at the other end. It's about team 1st, body on the line , self sacrifice for the benefit of their teammates. You've got to want to do those things for each other because that mentality creates positive things eg. WINNING!

That Braddles story is my favourite all time Carlton story
One of my mates had a players number and he used to pretend to be some obscure Hawthorn player and stitch him up
So it could’ve been some random member of the public stitching you up big fella

Jack, off season try bare foot running (1-2 km on grass). Too much heel running, get lighter boots, will enable you to switch direction. You'll be much faster than your old man.

Dylan - your lightbulb moment!! When you finally realised the passion of the Carlton supporters…. They live for the weekends from April through September. Victoria has been a shit hole of a State, Dictator Dan has criminalised everything other than being able to support your club. There are certain teams where for the supporters nothing else matters.
    Carlton
    Essendon
    Coll….wood
If your father supported Carlton, you have an obligation to continue the tradition!! You are born a Carlton man. Football makes and breaks families. This is to the supporters their only form of social entertainment.
More players need to appreciate the devotion of the supporter!!

57:45 lol it's not everyday you hear a podcast host tell his guest to "shut the f*ck up" & then refer to him as a "fuck head" in the space of 5secs, and all because Dyl didn't like the introspective manner in which Jack answered a couple of questions. even though they're mates & Jack didn't take any offence, i still think it was a little harsh...but nothing that a nice putter & maybe a wedge or 7-iron as way of apology couldn't resolve.

There are plenty of hilbillies in football and Jack Silvani is not one of them.
