Donkey Kong Country prices really confuse me. Returns was originally 50€ on Wii and 40€ on 3ds, and Tropical Freeze eventually cost only 20€ on Wii U, and yet they're both 60 on Switch. But at the same time, both are such incredibly great games that are still worth every single bit of that 60€ price. I've never felt more dissapointed in the price of a game that I know will be 100% worth it and it has really made me question what a fair price for video games should even be.
Me and my dad used to love playing this on the Wii together years ago... I wish he was here to see this and so I could play it with him again... it comes out a week before the 1 year anniversary of his death I'll make sure to play it for both of us
Me too one thing i can say is the snowmads would fit perfectly in the northern kremisphere where dkc3 takes place. With all the woody areas and snow. Dr k rool wasn't received to well anyway.
To my understanding it's a rights based issue, since the the Kremlings IP is owned by Microsoft instead Nintendo. For a few years after Rare's purchase even Diddy Kong was a Microsoft owned intellectual property until they made a deal and sold him off to Nintendo.
@@sirjanska9575Nintendo owns all of the characters Rare created for the Donkey Kong series. If they didn't, they wouldn't bother using Diddy Kong or any of the other Donkey Kong characters that Rare created. The Country Returns devs considered bringing King K. @SonicTheCutehog They might do so now, at least for many of the DKC characters, yet upon Microsoft outbuying Rare's stock majority the situation wasn't as simple. While Nintendo owned roughly 49% of Rare's stock the company was never formally in their possession, hence Rare held the ownership to the original characters they created. Of them at least Diddy Kong was later sold to Nintendo by Microsoft, yet I don't know which other characters were part of the same deal. The Kremlings did appear in Barrel Blast, the DKC console re-releases and Smash Ultimate (which also features Banjo-Kazooie under Microsoft's license) yet rarely have done so anywhere else, including the recently opened DKC amusement park, so, unless it's a consistent negligence on Nintendo's part, it might be possible that Nintendo still needs to license out the characters from Microsoft.

So this is the third release of this game? It was made for Wii, downgraded to 3DS and now upgraded for Switch? It's just exhausting Nintendo, this should be a $10 download on the eShop.

Nintendo was better at backwards compatibility than their competitors for over 15 years (until Xbox started faking backwards compatibility with their "disc = key" approach). Only reason they went back just 1 generation each (unless you count portables, which went back further) was due to the change in game disc/cart medium and digital storefronts.
