Testing of 8 Channel Relay Card With ULN2803 on General Purpose PCB | ElectroMech Lab

  • #Relays are used to control high voltage loads, a signal from microcontroller or #Arduino of 3.3/5vdc can control a 230V load, with the help of relay circuit.
    In this video I am showing 8 relays circuit assembled on general purpose PCB.
    Component:
    General Purpose PCB: 1 No.
    24vdc relay : 8 Nos.
    IN4007: 1 No. (To protect is from reverse polarity)
    #LED 5mm Red: 9 Nos. (for relay indication)
    Resistors 10 KOhm: 9 Nos. (limiting resistor for LEDs)
    Connectors. 13 Nos. (2 pin) (foroutput & Input Connections)
    IC: #ULN2803 1 No. (Relay Driver IC)
    IC Base socket 18 Pin: 1 No. (Relay driver IC base socket)

    I have an essential question, once we use ULN2803, can we do without the free-running diode for the relay?

      Hi, since ULN2803 has inbuilt free wheel diodes, so no need to connect external diodes for this purpose, the thing which you need to do is to connect COM pin to +power supply.
