People are at different stages of spiritual growth and maturity. The main thing is to escape the trap. A young christian wants to serve God with his life, this is worsened when other church leaders recruit them into the fold especially when they see your potential ( meaning professional status and wealth) I have met bankers who lost their job because they thought they were serving God by helping the church to launder money. The church abandoned them after they lost their jobs. I have met students who were asked to withdraw from university due to poor academic grades( failure) because she was always in church doing choir practice. An accountant graduated with third class which has limited her options in Life as per job security. She personally told me she regrets her church activities as a student. It is about wisdom and spiritual maturity. Just thank God you were not affected by these people in the name of serving God
