The ancestors of the guy with the Jaws t-shirt must have been the ones that ate all the potatoes during the famine and developed a condition in which they cannot taste anything else.
Wasn't expecting for traditional Turkish food, and yeah, it didn't look like traditional Turkish food :D Yaprak sarma looks canned; the rice shouldn't be too gooey. We do not put sauce on Döner unless it is used in a different dish such as, Iskender kebab. It is not Kofta; "Köfte" means meatballs, and the dish that was presented was probably Urfa kebap. Naan is Indian? Baklava did not look authentic either. Nor the look, and it shouldn't have a salty component at all, it should be pure sweet. Obviously I am not expecting a foreigner to know all this, but reading a Wikipedia page on Turkish cuisine would be enough really. Plus, don't go to a random Turkish restaurant in a foreign country and expect it to be the exact same in Turkey. I live in Germany with what, more than 2-3 million Turkish population? It is even challenging here to find authentic Turkish food! I am still truly appreciative that you are presenting my countries' culture to many others, and it is our fault that we cannot provide any accurate food. I am just stating that the research could be done a bit better.
Serra Bozdoğan lmao i know right... im turkish aswell but some of the foods were prepared pretty bad in my case, they didnt even have lahmacun on there, which has god like taste 😂
Greetings from Kyrgyzstan. The Turkish cuisine is one of the best in the world, after first time eating the Turkish food you want it again and again)))
The guy with the jaws t-shirt tasted vine leaves in the Greek video and loved them! Now, he hates them! I guess he's trying to be agreeable to pick up the girl next to him.
Frennarp there is literally no such thing as Greek food. Every food they got was from the Ottoman Empire. They literally took our food and called it Greek.
bro he hates turkey thats why he says to all food no taste he is racist. and greek sarma dont taste better then turkish because turkish is original. greek sarma better with alcohol
Oh I went to Turkey last year, we ate a lot of turkish food. I love them all! I want to go there again. Istanbul is beautiful with cats, dogs and human live happily together.
those are fuckin untasty things i would never eat that sarma in here (Turkey), even animals here would refuse that sarma. canned sarma? canned musakka? and that doner even they say it is good it is just wrong on so many levels.
ascoolas youthink you miss understand me canned sarma is fuckin untasty (which they are eating) everyone loves real sarma like me, not canned one. and that doner and musakka are not proper doner and musakka either.
One of my favorite things in the world is to watch someone from Turkey and someone from Greece argue over which country came up with baklava? History says turkey but you have a lot of Greeks out there they will argue that point.
It is invented for the Sultan in the Ottoman Empire. This is no secret. Greeks were a part of Ottoman Empire back so I think it is a stupid argument. It would be like arguing whether Russia or Ukraine invented something when they were part of the same country.
Actually Baklava is considered neither Turkish nor Greek by Food Historians. Baklava and all other syrup and dough based desserts are regarded as of Arabic origin. (I have a BFA in Gastronomy and Culinary Arts. I oughtta know.)
That first one, yaprak dolma, we have a version of that in Sweden since literally hundreds of years. We kall it kåldolmar, though that's usually stuffed with a little meat as well. This dish comes from Turkey, or the Ottoman Empire as it was known as back in those days. Sweden had lost the Battle of Poltava in 1709, forcing what was left of the Carolean army to withdraw and the king, His Royal Heighness Karl XII, had been injured during the seige of the town of Poltava and his wound had been infected - he and a couple regiments of infantry fled to the Ottoman Empire, as Sweden had very friendly relations with the Turks back then. King Karl remained in the Ottoman Empire for a few years to recover, ruling Sweden from there, in the town of Bender in today's Moldova through the use of couriers. He was very curious of the Turkish culture and food and he grew very fond of this very dish, which he brought the dish with him once he returned to Sweden. However, after him residing in Bender, he was not very popular. The Swedish soldiers were in debt through gambling and every now and then ended up in trouble, which lead to Ottoman soldiers mobilizing to force the king to leave; king Karl wouldn't accept being treated like that, so he decided to fight, but in the end, there were too many Osman soldiers to fight off, so he was more or less forced to surrender, and his friendship with the sultan had taken quite the blow, but I believe the friendship recovered, at least partially; when the Swedish king finally was talked into leaving the Ottoman Empire, he brought with him a few Ottoman soldiers for escort and also businessmen who the king and his men were in debt to - the debts were eventually payed, but it took years. Those Turks brought with them parts of their culture to Sweden, among them this delicious dish. The Ottoman soldiers who escorted the king decided to stay in Sweden, instead of facing a long, tough journey back to Turkey, and they were given the surnames Askersson, where "asker" means "soldier" in Turkish. Heirs of these soldiers still live in Sweden to this day.
Yuzo Koshiro The incident in Bender, you mean? Not most of them, but way more than the Swedish, yes. Historically, Sweden and the Ottomans had good relations, though.

Well every german tv show so far told that Döner was invented in germany by a turkish person. And by Döner i dont mean the piled up meat, i mean the sliced up bread with meat and salad in it. And btw u wouldn't call the thing they eat Döner in Germany, they would say Durüm Döner because its not in bread and in more of a tortilla bread type thing.
The statement made by the man with glasses is so disrespectful that the baklava is a thousand years older than its age and has a deep-rooted history, and what you call Penis will bless us with the blessing of God.
Turkish food is amazing and delicious! I'm Dutch and we have a lot of Turkish supermarkets and kebab shops here. Also a lot of Greek restaurants ( very similar to Turkish dishes)
I'm turkish and this video offends me, not because they're wrong but because the food shown here is shit. You can't compare it to authentic Turkish food!
Otto I'm not Turkish but I have been to Turkey.. after my homeland cuisine Turkish food is my fav 😁 shame that the food in the video is far from accurate
I agree and I'm Greek. They did the same with other cuisines too. It's like they sabotage foreign dishes for some reason (not to mention the constantly cringey reactions of some people in their videos).
Yeah they even made Musaka a liquid!!!BRO!Look up Musaka and see how it looks like!(BTW I'm form Bosnia and Herzegovina not from Turkey, but we have all of these meals in my country)BTW I'm ofended too
I'm just realizing that George has quite the regal palette. He rarely enjoys anything you'd think he would, but is often pleased by things most would either be weary of or dislike.
There is a problem of tasting Turkish food when you're in Ireland. I mean, it's possible they found a really good restaurant but even then, it's unlikely that it can compete with local Turkish restaurants who get better, more fresh ingredients. The shawarma (doner kebab) especially doesn't look the best.
Hey guys! I have just a few tips if you ever plan to go to Turkey, or if you just want to show some respect to the culture in general. I see a lot of angry comments in Turkish and I understand why (I'm Turkish). In Turkish culture you can't refer to food as dicks, poop or anything 'dirty'. You can't make a disgusted face when you don't like the food you're eating. In Turkish culture food is something you should be grateful because there are a lot of poor people who struggle just to have some food. If people see you doing these things, they see you as a piece of shit (no respect, ungrateful etc.) 🙊 Obviously it's normal that you may not like some foods, but keep it chill, just say in a mature way that it is not your taste (Not just for Turkish culture, but any culture). I'm not trying to insult you guys or anyone! It is just a little education on another culture😋 (Sorry for any (grammar) mistakes, I live in Europe🤐)
I've had the Egyptian and it's basically fried or baked eggplant cooked in tomato sauce with spices :P I like it with rice. They kind of just ate it on its own which isn't the best way to have it
Serge Magnavox I wonder what the definition of moussaka is and what the regional varieties are. I've had moussaka in Yugoslavia, Turkey and Greece. And that looked nothing like this. haha I thought they'd have the original type, which I think is from Greece or Turkey.
I'm not Turkish but I find the way they comment and criticize the food to be very rude. Plus Turkish food is the best in the entire world
BUT IM TURKISH YEAY I CAN EAT DÖNER AND KEBAB FOREVER
Iam turkish and best turkish food is iskender (ıskender) inside: meat, some bread and tomato sauce

Time For Fun! Ireland 🇨🇮🇨🇮🇨🇮!
Yani cook guzel Yemek ler , anlamadim😵😰😰😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
I agree and I'm Greek. They did the same with other cuisines too. It's like they sabotage foreign dishes for some reason (not to mention the constantly cringey reactions of some people in their videos).
Yeah they even made Musaka a liquid!!!BRO!Look up Musaka and see how it looks like!(BTW I'm form Bosnia and Herzegovina not from Turkey, but we have all of these meals in my country)BTW I'm ofended too
That's what I was thinking too. Moussaka in a liquid form? It's supposed to be like a pie you can cut in pieces, right?
I love Turkey mixed Greece and them I'm Hungry

I'm just realizing that George has quite the regal palette. He rarely enjoys anything you'd think he would, but is often pleased by things most would either be weary of or dislike.

Should have had some Turkish coffee with the baklava!
I love how they’re disrespecting Turkish food but all the eat are potatoes lol
bro you cqn't disrespect any food and I agree with the potato
That is NOT Moussaka!!! I make moussaka all the time. It's baked and has a thick bechamel top.
Mousakka can change shape and style across the cultures why you are so angry about it :D
Musakka (moussaka) is a arabic word which means a vegetable dish cook with broth so traditionally there will be no bechamel sause on that
Moussaka is made different ways. your way is the way greeks do it.
PLEASE GUYS WE ARE NOT KEBAB WE-ARE-NOT-KEBAB
everyone should taste turkısh food in TURKEY because other countries don't make good and Where are KÜNEFE-İSKENDER-AYRAN
Is there food in turkey, still?
Yiğit Yılmaz oha iskender mhhhhh ayrzn mhhhh OHAAA
there are good turkish restaurants out of turkey. but its the same like every other restaurants. the good are rare^^
nice try, but no one is going to turkey, not anymore.
RQType come and see .don't worry .we don't eat pigs
There is a problem of tasting Turkish food when you're in Ireland. I mean, it's possible they found a really good restaurant but even then, it's unlikely that it can compete with local Turkish restaurants who get better, more fresh ingredients. The shawarma (doner kebab) especially doesn't look the best.
Aynen dostum o koca kafalar bizim yemeklerin yanından bile geçemez yane
I hated the reactions of the man who wears jaws t-shirt and the girl next to him
MrTheripperr me too
ikr !!
If people see you doing these things, they see you as a piece of shit (no respect, ungrateful etc.) 🙊
Obviously it's normal that you may not like some foods, but keep it chill, just say in a mature way that it is not your taste (Not just for Turkish culture, but any culture).
I'm not trying to insult you guys or anyone! It is just a little education on another culture😋
(Sorry for any (grammar) mistakes, I live in Europe🤐)
did u went to Turkey?
Beratcan Kırmızı
I visit family in the summer.
Ela yea my father would kill me if I did that cuz I'm Turkish too
Ela same I go to see my cousins and uncles and my stepmom
In Turkey, there is a saying "Nimetle şaka olmaz!". That means you can't make joke with food.
I want an irish girl, I need an irish girl in my life.
^W^Wmoi loif
I love Irish people. The men in Ireland are really great fathers and husbands in general.
this is the reaction you get when you serve good food to people whose “cuisine” consists of types of cooked potatoes and famines. afiyet olsun.
That's NOT, absolutely NOOOT Moussaka!
Fibbz yes it is lol
Never had a turkish moussaka but the bulgarian and greek ones look and i think taste soo much better.
I've had the Egyptian and it's basically fried or baked eggplant cooked in tomato sauce with spices :P I like it with rice. They kind of just ate it on its own which isn't the best way to have it
Serge Magnavox
I wonder what the definition of moussaka is and what the regional varieties are. I've had moussaka in Yugoslavia, Turkey and Greece. And that looked nothing like this. haha I thought they'd have the original type, which I think is from Greece or Turkey.
Fibbz It's not the same dish as the Greek/Balkan mousakka, just similar names
The guy in the jaws 19 shirt is kinda rude😑
Fausta Boateng He’s gay
