I use to hunt in the cold a lot as a kid. We’d walk miles out and miles back. Before we got to the halfway point my feet, ears, hands, etc would all be frozen. Walking the last half was pure torture. In my head I’d be asking myself why I’d wake up early af to go walk far and freeze day after day. The joy of hunting want enough. I think I did it cause my cousin always wanted to go. Anyways as I got older I started learning after the first time or two and would refrain from self torture. That is good some ways, but on the other hand 12 y/o me would voluntarily put myself thru misery. Now I rarely do. Idk which is better.
If this BUD/s is so though due to cold, try only imagine how it was for those bastards fighting in Moscow in 1941 or in Stalingrad in 1942/43 :D Have had to be a magnitudes tougher.
Alban Oroz Some people fell trough ice, when crossing Volga too, by the way :D Not to add in the severe starvation, lack of winter clothing and diseases, which all killed as much as fighting itself. You don't see entire SEAL Teams being wiped out by snow storms or some sort of epidemics :P
BUD/S is a CHOICE. When you KNOW that all you have to do is say "I'm done" or "I quit" and ring that bell 3 times, and you get to take a HOT shower and sleep in a warm bed, it is that much harder to keep going. You start to question why you are even doing it. But like the guys you were talking about, in Moscow 1941 or Stalingrad '42/'43; they had NO CHOICE. You either keep going or you die. It's not so much fighting but fucking basic survival- keep moving forward or die. Only the toughest survived, as I'm sure the conditions made death seem more pleasurable to some, but when you are backed up against a wall with nowhere to go, you will be surprised what people will and can do. BUD/S is a choice because it not only tests physical, emotional and mental toughness; it tests the WILLINGNESS of a man to go through with this hell even when it isn't necessary at all. No consequences for quitting, to be honest but if a man is willing to eat shit when there is a clear and easy route out of it, then you KNOW he will eat shit when there is no way out of it. Another example: Scenario1: I tell you to walk across a mile of broken glass barefoot (BUD/S). If you do, the hottest girl in the world will fuck your brains out (Graduation). If you don't or quit half way, you go home and get to watch Netflix and eat pizza (Going home). Easy to quit, yes? You lose nothing if you quit (except shame or maybe regret, but you don't think about it when you're in a world of hurt). For those who continue, they must have really wanted to fuck that girl, or they would simply not give up. Mad respect for them to keep going when really, there is nothing FORCING them to keep going. Scenario2: I tell you to walk across a mile of broken glass barefoot. I have weapons pointed at your dearest and most loved ones. If you don't, I murder them slowly and painfully. If you do, I let them go. , Not so easy to quit, right? You lose your family if you quit; you have EVERYTHING to lose. Here, you are FORCED to keep going. Same concept. There is nothing remarkable about a man being DRAFTED to fight a war, or FORCED to do something. There is everything remarkable about a man who WILLINGLY signs up and endures when the easy way out is always right there.
chinggiskhaan123 That was good answer. With one exeption - many did chose to willingly go to fight in Stalingrad and other places as such. And they did that unprepeared. And many of them became a "big heroes" too. To call that "unremarkable" is just bad idea.
Word. I wouldn't call that unremarkable at all. It takes GUTS, and training is, I am sure, NOTHING compared to combat. But history has shown as that men can and will do extraordinary things when backed into a corner....and Legends are born.
Poor guy got piss thrown on his face...and still didnt make it.

We're human.
It ain't about resume's either.
I freely chose to say with pride my time in.. what branch.... Etc..
Just so you know that I'm not "REGURGTATING" anything I say.
I speak for my self.
I'm a man of Honor.
I love the U.S. military every branch
I don't like to see it in trouble.
I hope u can see where I'm coming from now.
In the Military we faced tough issues to make us better warriors.
That's just how it is.
Now out here in civilian life everybody gets their damn Panties in a bunch when u say anything.
I couldn't care less what somebody says about me.
The Certificate in my wall says Honorable discharge..... My medals were earned ..
My stripes as well...
@@gunchief0811 same. Agree.
When you say “didn’t end up making it” do you mean he didn’t survive???
Kylie McDav no, he probably means be didn’t pass BUD/S
You don't see that on the military special.
I can't do these things when I'm warm.
T.y your service

#navyseals
lol you think seals have jackets while going through training.... you obviously haven't watched a minute of BUD/s training
I so glad I didn't have to go through cold weather trianing in California sounds rough and tough
I'm going to be a seal someday.
Travis Not at all
How’s it going?
Update? How many guys faces have you pissed in?
Imagine being pissed on
If this BUD/s is so though due to cold, try only imagine how it was for those bastards fighting in Moscow in 1941 or in Stalingrad in 1942/43 :D Have had to be a magnitudes tougher.
+cyberdaemon cold and wet**
Another example:
Scenario1: I tell you to walk across a mile of broken glass barefoot (BUD/S).
I like to imagine that Ray is the only person to do that pee thing and everyone else there thought he was a freaking weirdo.
