  • In this video at the NY-DIY Mechanical Garage, we do a complete breakdown and rebuild of the the torque assembly on the Sinister C7 Track car. There are some good videos out there, but never really breaking down each section. This video can be used for c5, c6 & c7 Corvette platforms. There are some minor engineering upgrades, or designs, between all three platforms, but this video should cover all. We upgrade the tube bearing, along with upgrading the driveshaft bushings from rubber, to Polyurethane. It's a little bit of a long video, but well worth it. Thanks very much to my followers, and future followers to come. Please like and subscribe to channel. Also follow us @nydiymechanical . I hope the Holidays treated you and your families well. Special thanks to Texas Drivetrain for being part of the Sinister C7 project. I wish everyone a great New Year. Be safe, Cheers!!

I'm curious, did you mark/index the orientation of the driveshaft with the input shaft on disassembly? I am skimming through your video and not sure whether you did... other folks are saying to do that. I'm not so sure I put mine back together exactly how it came apart.... I just put in a new LS7 clutch/pp, torque tube bearings (left my couplers in there as they looked new), and diff clutch packs... I now have some felt vibration in the shifter that corresponds with RPM now that wasn't there before. I'm all in my head thinking maybe its because I changed the orientation of the input shaft/driveshaft.. Also not sure whether the LS7 flywheel should have been match balanced to my old stuff. I did see a little weight pressed into my LS6 flywheel. There wasn't anywhere on the conversion flywheel to move it over to (it was a RAM lightweight FW). Anyways, just trying to check my sanity, theres so much conflicting information out there.

Hey thx for watching and commenting. Yeah, there's tons of information out there, from many good, and not so good, individuals out there. The talent out there in the TH-cam world is truly amazing. I just went off of research, combined with my knowledge, and did things. I didn't mark my splines at all. I also have a slight vibration, but that's due to poly drive shift bushings. I also found that my rear tires were out of balance by .25oz. After balancing them, the slight vibration went to a faint one. I also went w the ls7 clutch, but with an aluminum FW. Great factory upgrade. I also did zr1 clutches, w upgraded Bellville washers as well when I did did gears. What big difference. Out side of all that, haven't had any issues. Hopefully I answered your question. Need anything else feel.free to reach out. Thx for watching, and please like and subscribe. Also follow @nydiymechanical. Be safe, Cheers

I was curious about that as well, usually the assemblies are balanced as a whole. 😅 Great video though.

@@gsc512 You're right, they are balanced as a complete assembly. In hind-sight I should have, now better for next time. Thx for the nice comment. Be safe, Cheers.
