Jekyll Island Georgia in the Golden Isles, was the first retirement travel stop for the Retirement Travelers in our 2020 Airstream during our USA travel vlog to visit National Parks and State Parks. This is our retirement! Join us in this video as we stayed at the Jekyll Island campground and saw some amazing scenery of this beautiful island. We loved Jekyll Island and discovered Driftwood Beach at sunrise, biking along low country marshes filled with birds, journey on trails under the canopy of live oak trees and Spanish moss while exploring the renowned Historic District. We’re not sure we’ve seen many beaches as lovely as Driftwood Beach, although Jekyll Island beach is nice as well. Laugh along with us as we learn the fine art of RVing in America.

ABOUT US:
As the #retirementtravelers, we have always dreamed of traveling, but we never in a million years thought we would become #travelvloggers and start a TH-cam channel. But, that is what we did! We work hard every day to become better and create something that others will enjoy. Having a community of friends, old and new, follow our journey is fun and exciting to us.
In 2019, we achieved our goal of visiting every state in the union in our Airstream. We also visited every national park in the lower 48. We are big believers in lists, so of course we plan to see the remaining 12 parks in the next few years.
In 2021, we made the big decision to extreme downsize to just a suitcase and a small backpack, each. We started our journey around the world beginning in Central America. We hope that over the next ten years, we will have seen many beautiful things, made many memories and new friends, and shared the experience with our children and grandchildren.

Seeing Driftwood Beach at sunrise was one of the highlights. It was amazing.
We definitely want to see Driftwood Beach, especially at sunrise.
Pie fries--way cool!--looks like a variation of making "grilled" cheese sandwiches in a skillet. 🤪 And everything else is beautiful too.
Pie fries were a memory of eating around the campfire as a child.

If you ever go back to Jekyll, try the Blackened Shrimp Salad at the Wharf or Crab Daddys on St Simons!!!!!!

Can't believe we hadn't seen this video. We love Jekyll Island. We spent a week at that campground this summer. Love all the history on that island. 2lbs of shrimp! Will have to visit the Sunrise Grill next time we visit. Glad your first dump went well.
