Hello, I saw your video and I am very interested in it, please also consider Polish subtitles, my partner and I are trying to get into this business and we are looking for good news
I have been in the sugar industry for 10 years myself as a manufacturer also as a trader. With all due respect, most of what is being said is incorrect regarding the sugar industry. There is availability of boatloads of sugar. The production figures that were cited are also incorrect. Brazil produces 4.5 million MT of IC 45 annually not 700,000 MT.
@@djackman9746 Make sure your supplier can provide PPF (Proof of past performance) as well as offer a non transferable L/C. Also ensure that prices are realistic.
@@ricardomoreau7524 No, none of it is. On top of the incorrect pricing, he is wrong about vessel stock of sugar. Vessels of sugar move regylarly from Brazil. You have to consider his angle with this. He is selling containerised sugar. It is therefore in his best interest to promote containerised sugar and to say that vessel sugar doesn't exist.
Also regarding the scam you speak of. Why would SGS verify a shipment that is not matching the specifications set? This is why we use LC in this business. Because the supplier does not get paid unless they have product to a specification.
In places like Brazil, the gangs obtain real documents from real employees, and use them to scam people. The banks verify documents and LC’s are released. Or, they receive an LC and monetise it. The buyer never receives the product, or they receive a lower quality. LC isn’t full proof. Actually, Escrow is probably the safest payment method, but takes a bit longer.
@@Samcutting-broker I ageee that Escrow would be a suitable way forward however even with LC. It is important to remember the documents needed bank to bank that asssure quality. E.g. A CERTIFICATE OF ORIGIN ISSUED BY S.G.S. AND INSPECTION CERTIFICATE OF WEIGHT AND QUALITY, ISSUED BY SOCIETE GENERALE DE SURVEILLANCE (S.G.S.) AT PORT OF LOADING SHOWING, QUALITY AND QUANTITY SHIPPED EVIDENCE THAT GOODS ARE IN FULL CONFORMITY WITH SPECIFICATIONS AND CONDITIONS AGREED UPON SGS will NOT put their name to an inspection of an incorrect product. And let’s not forget that there is a 2-3% performance bond on the transaction that the seller has to pay upfront. And they do not want to park their money to something that is not as per specification. Many trading companies who sell Brazil sugar typically use TOP 50 Banks for the LC e.g. JP Morgan. So it is unlikely that this proceedure will not be followed properly.
@@Samcutting-broker Furthermore the following documents are presented to ensure that the goods actually do reach. In order to release LC payment 1. FULL SET CLEAN ON-BOARD MARINE BILLS OF LADING COVERING PORT-TO-PORT SHIPMENT, MARKED AS “FREIGHT PREPAID” ISSUED TO ORDER, BLANK ENDORSED AND NOTIFY BUYER’S ASSIGNED PARTY CHARTER PARTY BILLS OF LADING ACCEPTABLE. 2. SHIPPING COMPANY STATEMENT CONFIRMING THAT THE AGE OF THE VESSEL DOES NOT EXCEED TWENTY YEARS (20) AND THE VESSEL IS REGISTERED UNDER LLOYD’S REGISTRY OR COMPARABLE REGISTRY. 3. RESHIPMENT SURVEY REPORT ISSUED AND SIGNED BY MASTER OF CARRYING OCEAN VESSEL AND THE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE HARBOUR AGENCY.

Lot of inaccurate information. 1. China does import white sugar, under limited quota. All one has to do is look at the customs figures. It fluctuates depending on supply access and government policies. 2. Pricing for bulk is completely different as the operational model is also very different. But also depending on where you're sourcing from, the price can vary since many traders will stock up on sugar when prices are low and use this leverage to control prices and earn profits. The dynamics are different than that of the sugar mills which go by ethanol trading prices. 3. Bulk sugar is in fact difficult for many markets but to China, we don’t have a problem with this. It’s not possible for foreign companies to access these buyers for a variety of reasons. It’s the same specialized relationships as what is needed in Brazil as it relates to supply access. But having said that it’s extremely complex with regards to financing, quotas, and customs.
I am not sure about the price. I am purchasing 25,000 MT at around $460 per Ton from Mello Commodity. The transaction is not finalized here, but it is already in motion. Do you have any review from them?
@@Samcutting-broker I did an online check up. They have an interesting online presence. I also went to their office in Brazil. What are different ways to cross check a supplier in Brazil?
@@EcoWayne-z8n apologies for the late response. I didn’t see your messages. Brazil is a very difficult place to do business. I’ve heard of people visiting factories and refineries, and still being scammed, because the scammer arranged a visit and acted as the seller. And the real seller thought they were the buyer. This guy maybe a small trader of sugar as he try to convince the audience the only sugar business he believes is on containers which is not true as the most deals is by vessels not containers.
