i remember when this thing was in development and i was waiting for new episodes so bad, and when i saw that this thing was cancelled i was trully being sad, because i watched it since first episode and find this little story really interesting, hellbeats is very old mod and it NEEDED a good effort mod and this is it! But sadly it wasnt came out how it was planned. I really liked the showcase and had little bit of nostalgia.

its probably sound waves
if an infected makes loud sound waves it causes uninfected people to get corrupted a little before it gets worse and spreads.
to prevent it the uninfected has to make louder sound waves before their mouth is covered in the virus.
