The view out your windows is just like ours. I live in NY as well and although I dont care to drive in it, it is BEAUTIFUL right now. The snow covered trees, the icicles, etc. I even giggled as the snowmobiles came through the field as that is what my yard looked like as well. Kiddos had a ball riding . Its been a wonderful time to play with the grands in the snow, making hot cocoa, cooking/baking and enjoying a fire...Although snow gets crazy here once in a while, I cant imagine NOT having the 4 seasons we are blessed with here

I lived in Saratoga Springs for awhile a few years ago. Winters were beautiful but harsh. But we didn’t lose power or water, like here in Texas. I miss all the quaint little towns in NY. I’d love to see an update on your garage.

@@TheQueensCabinet One of our high schools suffered from broken water pipes. Huge shock for sure and the school was closed due to the snow storm, so the students were at home.

Melissa I can't imagine what you all went through, and now so many dealing with broken pipes. It sure makes you appreciate having the basic things; heat, water, food electricity etc. It was so wonderful to see on TV how neighbors helped one another make it through the storm!!

@chandragarza I hope you have everything back on now. I live in Houston and we lost power and Internet Monday morning. The power came back on midnight Wednesday and stayed on then but the Internet didn't come back till Thursday afternoon. Our water was fine and I have an inline generator so had power throughout and some neighbors used their gas log fireplaces for warmth (and to sleep in front of). One neighbor had a leak in her attic and it brought the ceiling down on her craft room. The plumbers never turned up or even called and a neighbor finally fixed it for her over the weekend, waiting in line 90 minutes for a part to be made.

@CastleDykesFarm I know Houston was hit hard. We live in a small town town in South Texas, about an hour outside of Corpus. My family lives about 20 mins away in an even smaller town. We were without power for about 24 hours. We were lucky to have a working fireplace. But firewood was scarce so we basically burned cardboard and thinks that would be safe. My family that lives 20 mins away was without power and water for nearly 4 days. And when everything came back on, pipes started bursting, we are all under water boils. Texas isn’t equipped for this and I pray our state will be able to fix the problem with winterizing our energy systems.
That snow reminds me of the massive snow storm we had last week in East Texas. I am not an excellent driver as Ken so I stayed warm inside my home.....I am going to have to make those Garlic Knots the next time I make spaghetti for my family.
That storm was something else, I can't imagine what you all went through. At least here, we are prepared for that type of weather. Try the garlic knots with garlic powder instead of fresh garlic, I think it is better that way.

Moma McNeely I usually just shop for fresh produce but I have a bit of cabin fever. This winter has been long and we have been cooped up in the house because of Covid for months....so I didn't mind going out to the store. Although, i can't wait until spring to get out in the garden. Pray for a early spring for me!!
