I have to just say that you if you are as lovely a person in person as you appear to be in these videos, your friends and family are truly blessed to have you! Thank you for the kind sharing of your talent! I am not a paper mache artist but I do intend to give your techniques a try someday soon!
During our family's "lean years", our mother frequently fed us plain flour & water pancakes... The same ingredients as in her wallpaper paste... & paper machete. No wonder they "stuck to our ribs!" 😨 Love your program, your methods & creativity. Thank-you 😄
Gloria Brothers that’s funny because in my family, we make those very often. They are called chapatis. We usually have them with lentils and curry. I actually really enjoy them!
Thank you for taking the time to show us how you create your magic. I have learned so much from you and have used it in my own art. Just wanted to let you know how much you are appreciated. Thank you Dear Jonni!
With all this quarantine happening all around I got so much free time! lol! Your tips are very helpful! now I see where I went wrong. I guess small pieces of paper really is the trick instead of wanting to cover a big area all in one go. Also the tearing of the paper is really neat i usually fold it which turn out to be a crease and that's not pretty. I tried tearing them like you showed here, I got a really a smooth outcome. Thank you very much!
Love your work, but upon all, I love you! You’re so calm with all the explanations and it feels that you’re not holding back any tricks. So, tyvm for sharing and taking your time for it🥰 greetings from Chile 🇨🇱, South America
How did I just stumble on you now? We just started our journey with paper mache and had I known about you before...we would be in much better shape. But there's always more time to mache. I love how methodical you are and appreciate the logic and why you do the things you do in your technique. Thank you for sharing your talent.
Beautiful Maam! You are very talented It's a gift from above. I love to watch your video sence this weeks. I hope to learn it someday. Thank you for the patern!
As great as usual your work is amazimg and your technic has been very helpful . I allready finished a mexican fighter and your technic helps me so much de
Hi Ana. I have a PDF pattern for the cow - you print it and past it onto cardboard, cut it out, and tape it together. It isn't a 'mold' exactly, but it does create all the shapes for you. You can find it here: www.ultimatepapermache.com/cow-mask Thanks for asking! 😄
Did you make the mask from a paper pattern? Is that how you make all your masks? Are the patterns available for purchase? By the way, I watch your channel more than any other. I love watching you work and listening to your voice. Thank you for teaching me so many techniques
Yes, I used my cow pattern for this video. The pattern is a downloadable PDF that is stuck to cardboard, cut out, and taped together. I have lots of different one - thanks for asking! 😊 You can find them all here: www.ultimatepapermache.com/patterns
I love these paper mache videos, I can't really use clay, so do you think it would be a good idea to try to "clone" a doll and modify the clone to become a ball-jointed doll? (Taking it off the doll once dried and fortifying it underneath.)
@@UltimatePaperMacheok, I was just wondering if you can replicate things by paper mache-ing it and then cutting it off and putting it back together. (but I tried it yesterday and it failed miserably lol) Thanks! I love your videos so much!
@@love2learn-itsastorynotasu40 If there aren't any undercuts and the paper mache is strong enough (and completely dry) it can work. But even without undercuts, the paper mache tends to change shape as soon as it's cut apart, and putting it back together is tricky. If it's really important to make an exact copy, you would probably need to make a silicone mold first, and put your paper mache inside it - not an easy process, I'm afraid.
I haven't been using the shop towels lately, because the ones they're now selling aren't stretchy, like the old ones were. And the stretchiness was kind of the point of using them. I'm mostly using either newspaper or the brown paper from amazon.com boxes now.
Maybe. I tried it once and it took a long time to dry because the corn starch absorbed water from the air. But it's possible I didn't do it wrong, so give it a try.
It can only get moldy if it stays wet. I always dry my paper mache as fast as possible. If you intend to use a lot of layers and you think it will take several days or longer to dry, the salt might slow down the mold. But the only way to stop mold is to make sure it doesn't have any water.
When I was in sixth grade I made a vulture with another girl. These videos are great learning tools for kids...:-). Now that I'm old, I'm going to try to make a tall standing bear...after I figure out how...lol I saw one video where a woman made a standing soldier, so I may use her method for the beginning...any suggestions?
I make a clay sculpture, make a silicone mold of it, and then make multiple paper mache copies, cutting them into pieces and taping them together. With the entire process, including the instructions and videos, it takes about a month for each pattern, working full time.
Dan Reeder makes his dragon heads with crumpled paper, and when the first few layers of paper mache are dry he opens the mouth, takes out all the paper, and adds the teeth. You can see his work on the GourmetPaperMache channel. I rarely sculpt an animal with teeth showing. I prefer them to look happy instead of angry - that works better in my house. 😊
If you want to make one without my pattern, you can sculpt it with clay and then cover the clay with paper mache. I have a video that shows that process, but with an African mask instead of a cow. th-cam.com/video/BBqBnrtAwUQ/w-d-xo.html I also have one showing how I made a Highland cow from scratch. I don't think I'd do it the same way again, but it worked. 😊 th-cam.com/video/blo61rAfaGM/w-d-xo.html
Absolutely! I do that all the time. You can join them up with more strips of paper mache and paste. If you're putting the paper mache on separate forms and then removing the forms to create a hollow sculpture, be sure the paper mache is dry all the way through before removing the forms. If you don't, the pieces will change shape as they continue drying, and they won't line up properly when you try to put them together.
I have to just say that you if you are as lovely a person in person as you appear to be in these videos, your friends and family are truly blessed to have you! Thank you for the kind sharing of your talent! I am not a paper mache artist but I do intend to give your techniques a try someday soon!

I'm not really a doll-maker, so I don't understand what you mean. You might want to ask an expert in the field.

Bonjour, pourquoi utiliser de la colle à la farine au lieu de la colle blanche pour bois?merci
can i put newspaper through a paper shredder to make thin pieces of paper
Maybe. I don't have a paper shredder so I can't try it.
what sandpaper do you use to smooth it out :) thankyou
Whatever sandpaper I happen to have on hand. You'll want to use a fairly fine grit, though, so you don't tear up the paper.
Que lindo ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Thanks!

If you want to make one without my pattern, you can sculpt it with clay and then cover the clay with paper mache. I have a video that shows that process, but with an African mask instead of a cow. th-cam.com/video/BBqBnrtAwUQ/w-d-xo.html

Which flour
White flour made from wheat, like you would use to make bread.

Hi Jack. I actually did that a few years ago, before I was making videos. You can see the post here: www.ultimatepapermache.com/make-a-joker-mask
Hola!! Tens el patró el cap d'un lleopard.
Can i make separate parts of a sculpture and later join them ?
Absolutely! I do that all the time. You can join them up with more strips of paper mache and paste.
